He melted. He realized how wrong he had been about her and he felt guilty about not trusting her. He should have had no doubts about them. They were perfect together.
They sat and had dinner and the old fire and spark rekindled. Jai just got up and as he went towards Bani, he had a thought that stopped him. He looked around, and brushed away the thought and continued to move towards her. As he reached there he took her face in his hands and planted a passionate kiss on her lips.
Bani was waiting for him to do this to her since days now and hence there was no shortage of intensity from either sides. Things just got worse and one thing led to another.
Bani's attempt to get Jai to understand how much he meant to her had finally paid off.
A few days passed and slowly everything came back to normal. Life looked up again. But then what is life without its share of ups and downs?
Bani's health suddenly faced a setback. She started getting headaches and she started puking. She had never felt this way. She started getting cramps. It happened frequently. She then visited her doctor who very obviously stated that she was expecting. Bani was ecstatic. She wanted to share this news with Jai, but the only problem there was that he was out of town. Not able to control the flow of her emotions, she took the first flight to Jai.
She landed and headed straight for the hotel Jai had put up in. on seeing her, he was surprised. Shocked would be the better word. He couldn't put two and two together.
Jai- Bani, what are you doing here?
Bani decided to hide it for a while
Bani- I was missing you so thought I would surprise you! Since you are the one who gives me surprises now is my turn!
Jai- impressive, but I was due tomorrow in any case.
Bani- well I thought why waste a day…
Jai- I am glad you came though, you go to the room il be right there.
Bani- very obediently says ok
She reaches the room and waits patiently for Jai.
He opens the door and he enters. He goes and sits down next to her on the bed. She leans on him and seductively moves her fingers over the side of his face. She then goes and sits on his lap and loosens his tie. She then kisses him softly on the neck and then the cheek and whispers softly into his ears
Bani- Jai I'm pregnant
Jai- hmmm…ok
Bani- Jai I'm pregnant…you are going to be a father
Jai- what…come again…I…a father???
Bani- yes and me a mother
Jai- oh bani you've made me the happiest man alive. You've given the joy bigger than any other joy…
