Ram Kapoor
Ram Kapoor, who plays Jai Walia on Zee's Kasamh Se, recently celebrated his birthday on the sets of the show. However, he wasn't ready for a surprise visit from his wife Gautami with a cake in tow. Not only did she make his day by spending time with him but also gifted him his dream watch.

Right model

Says Ram, "We were in Dubai some time back, shopping. I have a huge fetish for watches so I was checking out this Omega Titanium C-Master watch. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. However, I didn't have time to pick it up then."

This year, when Ram received a present from Gautami with Omega written on it, he was excited. "I actually did a somersault, but not in my wildest dreams did I imagine she would have picked up the exact same model. I think Gautami must have seen me look at the watch in Dubai and memorised the model number or something."

Watch it!

The actor is now proudly flaunting the watch on the sets of his show. "This is the best birthday gift I could get this year. I later found out that Gautami visited the Omega showroom at CR2 and placed a special order for this model since they didn't have it. I was totally floored by her gesture," he says.

Kapoor admits that long hours don't allow him to spend time with his wife and daughter. "I have decided to take Gautami out for Lage Raho Munnabhai and dinner this weekend. I think she deserves it. And since she loves Hindi movies, I'm sure she'll have a good time."

Talk-a-thon

Celebrations apart, Ram recently lost his voice because of a viral attack. "I had a lot of congestion in my chest. To top that, I was saying these really long dialogues that went up to four-five scenes. All of a sudden I realised I couldn't speak. I was actually whispering. That's when I panicked," he says.

But Ram couldn't put his schedule on hold. "I went to the doctor and he gave me this really heavy medication. Thankfully, my voice is on the way to recovery. By Monday, I should be back with a bang."

Enjoying the success of this show, he says, "It's a team effort. Everyone on the show is responsible for the success, including the technicians and writers. In fact, I took the whole team of the show for dinner on my birthday. We had a blast."
