Chapter 32- A
This one's for you my rooji!! Jaan, maaf kar de na? LOL I finally got here, and alas, I think the effect would be less than I imagined, thanks to a certain chapter 31-B entitled Office Romance!! Lolzzzz
BTW---you get this in two parts as well!! Haahhaha, the first one explains wht's going to occur in B!!! -- thsi was written here since the day i started writing this update!!!!Jai couldn't believe his…what do you call it? Luck? Whatever it was, he thanked the Gods profusely for blessing him graciously today, as he exited Dixit Inc's Offices and headed towards his car. Staring at himself in his rear-view mirror as he enterd the silver Porsche, he couldn't help but smile gleefully at the numerous marks on his neck and chest, only to realize he had a meeting with representative from some Khanna Industries right now! What was he going to do?!!
'Ahan!" he semi-shouted, as a light bulb went off in his head. Taking out his cell, he called up his secretary, Dilpreet, one of his closest friends at the office, apart from Aditya, and got her to postpone his meeting, saying he'd be an hour late, then called his neice, Anu, to meet him at a caf near-by.
"Anu, meet me now at _________ (I dunno anywhere, so put wherever u feel!) with any cover-up make up u have! Pleaseee, it's an emergency!" and hung up before a confused and amused Anu gathered her things and headed off to meet her uncle.

"Mamaji, what's wrong? Why'd you need my make-up?" she asked, cocking an eyebrow as she scanned his appearance. His shirt was button right up and his collar was up around his neck, as though he was hiding something, and she had a pretty good guess what it was, and his DG shades over his eyes.
They were seated in the outdoor section of the caf, under an umbrella table, two drinks (jai ordered some fruit punch for Anu!) before them, and Anu was enjoying the perspiring uncle before her! Jai was thankful to have a niece like Anu, whom he'd spoil since birth, treating her as his own daughter-cum-best friend.
Guiltily clearing his throat, he unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, and lowered his collar. Anu stared unblinkingly for a moment, at the patches on him, and for a moment was about to ask if he had allergies…only to catch her senses and grin mischievously at him.
"Been busy I see" she teased. Jai stared at her with large eyes, trying to act as innocent as possible.
"Anu please! Mere madat kar sakte na? I have important meeting to attend this afternoon, and I cant go dressed like a geek, shirt buttoned high and collar up high, looking like Elvis!" he said in a strangled voice.
"Oh? Is that so? Well, I need a new pair of jeans, and an outfit for a party this Friday night, which by the way, I need permission for!" she said frankly, making it known she was not gonna help him for free!
"Ahhh! Anu, is that the one your mother already refused to let you go to? That Chopra boy's party…Roshni's nephew? I agree with your mom Anu…The jeans and whatever else you want, no problem, but the party…" Jai told her, watching her frown and crease her eyebrows at him.
"Oh come on Anu, please!! Tell me what to do with…with…this, what is this?? Is it a pen or something?" Jai asked, screwing up his face at her eye-liner and tryingt o make head and tail of what she could possibly use this pencil for.
"Oh mamaji! Don't you know anything?!" she asked, exasperated, and stretching on the anything. Jai just shook his head like a little boy.
"Fine! FINE!" Anu huffed, grabbing her concealer and getting close to Jai.
"Mamaji! What the ---!!! What the heck were you and my honewali mami doing?!!!!" she exclaimed as she examined just how many places would be in need of her concealer.
"Ermm…Anu don't ask questions, please! That's embarrassing! And, why the heck are you rubbing lipstick on me?!"
"Oh fo! It's not lipstick pagal! It's concealer!! And, chup! You'd have to buy me a new one too, because it's all going to be finished when I'm done hiding your misdeeds!!!" she hissed at him, though chuckling all the same.
"Aye Haye! I swear…anyhow, I'm just hiding this from Massi, now that she knows about Bani and stuff…don't want her thinking anything wrong about Bani!!" Jai pleaded with Anu, who nodded in agreement. She would never do anything like that, but she would sure have fun using the knowledge to her advantage!
"Ok, done! You can go…tumhare cell phone de do, I'll call Dil and tell her to get your stuff ready, plus, she has that magazine I wanted, so you're taking me with you to the office to get it, and then I'd return home!!" Anu told Jai, plucking his cell phone from his shirt pocket and calling up his secretary to make necessary arrangements.
Dilpreet Kaur was Jai's childhood friend, whom he was very close with and got advice from, ever since he began his own ventures in business. 'Dil' as she was affectionately called by him and his family members remained as his secretary for…however long, not just because the perks were great and the salary excellent, but because Jai was her friend, and they bonded like brother and sister, not to mention she was really good with his nieces and nephews and massi. She was a fun loving girl, hyper yet down to earth, sensible yet sometimes so very clumsy, he was amazed by her, and found her amusing! She was one of the only few who could take on Jai Walia's rage with a cool demeanor. Jai knew Bani would like her as well, because she was a friendly, warm person, despite her siren looks, she was more humble than anything. Though it had taken him a long time to realize Dil was indeed a spectacular woman, Jai was now very over-protective of her as well, like any big brother would be!

Jai had arrived at his office and was now smiling humbly, humming a tune here and there, really happy. His day had progressed ever so happily, it was as though it was all a dream, except for the nagging thought of the approaching Saturday and the fact that he was wearing make-up! As he sat in his office, nearly 7 pm, he overlooked his face and neck areas with a mirror he had plucked from Dil before he had sent her home with Anu to relax, (mainly because he knew Anu would have told her all about his little visit Ms Dixit's office, and the fact that he needed make-up, plus, he was yet to confirm his relationship with Bani with Dil.) He was amazed at the effects of make-up!
'Damn!' he thought, 'you can never know what's really behind all this make-up junk!! Thank GOD Bani doesn't wear this scary stuff…hmm…I wonder what Anu was doing with this…what does she have to hide?! I'll be asking her about this…and Dil too…she, if not anyone else, must know what Anu does with these things! Haila, women I tell you!"
And so, he spent another half an hour glancing over reports, signing her, editing there and grimacing at the thought of what was really under the faces of all of those "pretty faces" he had flings with and what not. For some odd reason, Roshni crossed his mind…she wore tones of make-up!! He was curious to know what was really under it all. Shaking of the curiosity, he bent his head, and returned to work, with 5 minute breaks to day dream about Bani, and worry about what the heck was happening on Saturday!

Next Saturday (the one we've all been waiting for! Hehe)
Jai had called Bani during the week, and told her that Pushkar had called right after, and invited him or more like insisted he be present at some function at that Saturday. A depressed Bani mumbled an "okay" without further inquiry and hung up the phone, a little hurt that Jai wanted to spend his birthday with the boys and not her, at least that's what she thought! Jai figured she would be a little put off, but he heard from Nahar that the girls were planning a girl's night that same Saturday night, and he wanted Bani to spend times with her friends who were still in Mumbai- Saloni, Nahar, Vedika & Dhruv, Mamta and Akshay had to leave…and Vedika and Dhruv were leaving Sunday morning. So he agreed to Pushkar's plan so that Bani would get to do her girl thing.

Bani was in her office, yes, at 7:00 am on a Saturday and she was reclined in her leather seat, rubbing her temples and debating whether to call Jai now, or later. She decided on the latter, and picked up the phone and called Saloni instead, to tell her to get all the girls over to her house to plan outfits etc. Also, they had to make a plan to get Bani away from that pestering Sid! Thank God he said he had to go to a over-seas video conference meeting with some of his US business partners who were currently in India, and wont be around for much of the weekend! She figured she would get them over now, and raising from her seat, she closed the files she had been working on, locked her office and headed out the building.

Walia Mansion
"Happy Birthday to youuuu" screeched someone inside Jai's ears. Groaning and flipping over on his stomach, hands clasped tightly over his ears in hope of blocking out the horrible signing, Jai hoped they, whoever it was, would leave him to his peaceful dream of him and bani, and with a dreamy smile on hid face, he groaned "banii" softly and went to sleep again.
"Haan haan! Bani will come soon, but only if you could get up!"
And with that Jai shot off his bed and looked up to the elderly, pleasantly smiling face of Massi, a sniggering Anu and Sahil, a smiling Jigyasa and Adi, Ranveer trying to suppress his smile, and Biji who had already indulged in some filmy dialogue about her raja and rani.
"Ma- massi…sab log…in my room? WHY?!" Jai stuttered, rubbing his eyes, only to see Tony coming backwards into the room, shutting the door with his foot. And, as if on cue, the entire family broke out into awful screeching of 'Happy Birthday to You' and Tony turned around with a marvelous cake with lighted candles and everything, presenting it to Jai, and then resting in on a bed tray and setting in front of Jai.
Finally, Jai realized what Bani was hinting about, as he blew the candles out. Then he also remembered that yearly he and the boys also got together for a little bachelor's party…but that was before he had someone he really cared about, truly. He resolved he would just go, and then surprise Bani by appearing wherever she was and taking her out, and make up t her for crushing what he supposed was his birthday plans as he was immediately showered with hugs and kisses and thumps on the back and given small, neatly wrapped presents.
Smiling with them, unable to hide the affection for his family, he stood and hugged them all, thanked them ever pleasantly, and then shooed them out of his room that he can get properly dressed. He wanted to go to the office a bit today, and then head off to Pushkar's party.
A little while later, he left for office, despite massi's and everyone else's grumbles and pleas to relax just today.

Dixit Residence.
Bani drove into her courtyard, noticed that 3 other cars were parked and as she got nearer, rolling down the windows, she heard voices and laughter floating out and the smell of pancakes wafting out the open side windows and filling Bani's senses, making her insides churn with instant hunger. The smell of those pancakes could only be Sal's chocolate chip special, and boy did she love those. Hurriedly parking the car, she entered the house and headed straight for the source of the noise and laughter.
"Bani di!!" shouted Pia, dressed in an over-sized tee shirt and shorts, perched on a chair by the breakfast table, knees tucked under her. Everyone looked up smilingly at Bani, and then frowned at her or more likely the files she carried in her hands.
"Bunny, yeh kyaa hai?! Didn't I tell you…" but Saloni's speech of was drowned out by Bani enquiring about those pancakes she had been smelling.
"Ya…Rano, Pia and these other loafers insisted I make, yeh lo" and she handed over a plate stacked with pancakes to Bani, while the others nodded, filling their own mouths with the scrumptious pancakes and making sounds of obvious appreciation.
"Di, Rano and I are going out with Sahil Piya and Sridhar tonight okay? While you go out with these" Pia continued, indicating to the women surrounding their breakfast table, causing them to give her mock angry looks, and making her laugh and choke in the process.
"Sure Pia…erm…Sal, do I haveee to go? I really don't feel well" Bani whined, her hand instantly resting on her hand on her forehead in a dramatic fashion. She also noticed Pushkar was not present in their plans, and then grudgingly remembered he was going out with Jai tonight.
"Uff! Bani yeh natak bandh karo!" said Vedika in a gruff voice, staring at Bani with stern eyes.
"Fine…fine!" Bani huffed and returned to her yummy pancakes.
"OK…what are we wearing tonight girls?!" asked Tanisha, finishing her pancakes and getting up from her seat.
"I'm wearing my sari, varna Nahar will go crazy if I wear anything else" piped up Saloni.
"Nuh uh! No saris! Girl's night out…no sari's allowed!" grinned Vedika.
"O gosh…then, what do you all have in mind?" asked Bani, eyeing them warily.
"Weeeelllll….I was thinking modern mini dresses" Vedika said, grinning along with Pavi and Tani.
Both Bani and Saloni practically choked on their respective pancakes, while Rano and Pia surveyed them carefully, disbelieving grins on their faces as well!
"NO!!" shouted Bani and Saloni in unison.
"Why not?! The guys aren't gonna be there…aren't you fed up of either behenji clothes or else office outfits? Liven up!" Vedika insisted.
Both shook their heads vigorously in the negative, while Tani and Pavi looked on with amused looks.
"Well it's about time you do! Now, let's go pick out outfits and your highness can return to her work" Pavi giggled and lead the way up to Bani's large room, the one on the same wing with Pia's… this room held all of her "cute modern and Indian" clothes, mostly bought by Pia and Rano for her, while the other room housed her more office and formal, somber clothing, the ones she preferred.
They all plopped down, taking in the girlish surroundings (remember her room was pink and what not from the beginning…feeling hard to describe all over again!) and grinned as Bani pulled out a surprising number of mini modern dresses. They immediately got immersed in flinging dresses here, there and everywhere in pursuit of the best ones. Somehow they all seemed too short and too revealing, especially for Bani and Saloni, but the other girls bullied them, insisting naughtily to Saloni that once Nahar got one good look at her once she returned, they would be hearing baby voices, and that made Saloni blush hard and give in, which left Bani outnumbered and resigned to wearing the rather exposing and "horrifying" MINI dresses the "younger" girls chose… for some reason she never saw herself as just a mere few years older than them! (haha, sorry forgot their ages already lolzzzz).

8:00 PM
After a somewhat girly afternoon, Bani had convinced them to let her go back to the office to finish up some demanding work and promised to turn up on time at the Nightclub at the Orchid Hotel. As she sat, once more in her office, she was tempted to call Jai again, but was a bit angry with him and decided against it…she hope he felt badly! Realising her bitterness she swept the thoughts away from her mind, gathered up her stuff and exited the building once more, heading home to change and go meet the girls. As it was, Vedika, Tani, Pavi and Saloni had called her nearly every 10 minutes in turns to see if she was ready yet. They had got fed up of waiting and after extracting the promise that she would definitely come, they went ahead to the club.

Jai was also still in his office. He had avoided all calls from his family members because they insisted he came home, whereas he just wanted to work and daydream about Bani peacefully. Looking at the time, he frowned, wondering why Bani hadn't called him yet…and resisted calling her, incase, he hoped, she was waiting to do something special…though he didn't really know what. Then, looking at his flashing phone, he saw Pushkar's number and shot up from his seat, answering hurriedly.
"Haan! Haan Pushkar! I can hear you, move away from the noise! – Yes yes I'm on my way" he lied, and hung up he phone. He dashed out of his office, and headed home to get ready. He wasn't worried about being fashionably late tho.

Realising the time, Bani got out of her seat and reluctantly headed out of her own little world, towards her house to get changed and head off to the club. She was verrryy self conscious of the dress she was supposed to wear, and made a metal note to wear one of those long trench-coats with it.
After a quick application of light makeup, donning of the piece of cloth they called "clothes" nowadays, wearing some simple matching hoops, she grabbed her purse and headed out to her car. She had little tiem elft, and didn't want the girls breathing down her throat.

Bani arrived at the Orchid Hotel, to see her phone ringing with Sal's number coming up.
"Hello? I'm here!" she said hurriedly.
"Bani…o god! Are you at the Orchid?"
"Ya! Duh"
"Urm! We changed locations! They were a little over stuffed and not comfortable at all!! We've been trying to get u, but your mobile was off!"
Bani felt her cheeks burn guiltily.
"Ermmm…where are you gusy now though?"
"The Taj!! Hurry, it's not that far! We'll be waiting jaan! Luv ya!" and with a light giggle Sal cut the line. Bani guessed wisely that she had probably had a strong drink, something she was unaccustomed to, so she decided to push the peddle to the meddle and get there fast.
Flustered and a bit irritated with the sudden change of plans, Bani headed to the Taj.
