part 9:
Jai: What?! Are you sure?!
Bani nods her head quickly. Jai drops the bag from his hand and runs outside the store. Bani follows behind him. He stops in his tracks as he sees that indeed that everyone is gone, so they did miss the bus. Jai runs his fingers through his hair.
Jai: S***!
Bani: Now what?
Jai: (puts his hands in his pockets) I don't know….
Bani: (sighs) I guess we should just go back to the hotel.
Before bani makes a step to walk away, jai stops her by putting his hand on her shoulder.
Jai: No, wait. Just because we're left behind, doesn't mean we have to sulk and wait for them to come back in the hotel, and have a boring time…
Bani: Well, what else are we going to do?
Jai: (thinks) Why don't we just do a little exploring of our own? Yeah, we'll do that!
Bani: exploring of our own???
Jai: yeah, why not?
Bani: Where are we gonna go? We don't know anything about Paris?!
Jai: Just come on and enjoy! You don't need to worry when I'm with you… (he winks)
Bani's face turns dark red and she lowers her gaze to the sidewalk.
Bani: Ok, where we gonna go first?

Aarti: I knew this would happen! That jai and bani would be left behind!
Rahul: Calm down, aarti!
Aarti: I feel so bad! They're left behind and all lonely! I don't want to go on this tour without them.
Pia: Don't worry, Aarti. Di and Jai probably went back to the hotel.
Rahul: No, jai would definitely not want to waste his time spending his day in the hotel, he's probably doing something crazy and poor bani is left behind with a wacko! (he laughs) 😆
Aarti and pia also laugh at this remark.

Bani: Wait, stop!
Jai stops in his tracks and turns to bani whose attention is somewhere else.
Jai: What?
Bani points to a candy shop and jumps up and down in excitement like a little girl.
Bani: I want cotton candy! (she spots some through the glass window of the store)
Jai: Then go ahead and get some, I'll wait out here.
Bani: um, …the thing is that I left my money at the hotel.
Jai: So?
Bani: So, I don't have any money to buy the cotton candy, smart one! And I have a big craving for cotton candy!
Jai: (reaches into his pocket for his wallet) Here. (pulls out some money)
Bani: No, you come with me!
Jai: no, just go in there and pay for it. I'll wait out here.
Bani: But I don't know anything about French money! You're the French expert!
She pulls him by his arm and drags him into the store with him.

Riya over hears her father on the phone talking to a caterer for a wedding cake. She lets herself into her father's study and waits for him to get off the phone.
Raj: Riya, beti. What do you want?
Riya: uh, papa I was just wondering…why are you ordering the cake SO early? I mean the wedding is in three months, right? What's the hurry?
Raj: (looking through his desk drawers for something) Uh no, Riya. The wedding isn't in three months, it's in three weeks.
Riya becomes shocked and stares at her father, still looking through the drawers.
Riya: WHAT?
Her father looks up and stares at his daughter, curiously.
Raj: What's wrong?
Riya: (quickly) nothing! I'm gonna go!
Riya runs out of the room and doesn't bother to shut the door behind her. She looks around in her room for her cell phone and finally finds it under the bedcovers. She goes through her address book and finds bani's number. Riya dials it and waits impatiently for bani to pick up. After three times of calling her and receiving no answer, riya gives up. She curses under her breath.

Jai watches bani eat the cotton candy amazed by how easily she could be pleased. He again stops in his tracks when bani stops him from walking any further by holding onto his arm.
Bani: jai, look at that beautiful fountain! (she points to it)
He looks over to a huge water fountain with angel sculptures carved into it, surrounded by many people holding coins in their hands and closing their eyes, like they are wishing for something.
Jai: It's a wishing fountain, bani.
Bani: wow! I want to wish for something!
Without waiting for jai to agree or not, bani strolls over to the wishing fountain and joins the crowd that surrounds it. Jai follows bani to the fountain. Bani brings her hand over to jai.
Bani: Can I have a coin please?
He searches through his pockets for a coin and hands it over to bani. Jai watches closely as bani shuts her eyes and folds her hands together, looking like she's praying. He smiles slightly to himself at her innocence. "God, she's so gorgeous…," he thinks to himself.
"I wish for this wedding to be prevented and instead I meet a handsome guy, fall madly in love with him, get married to him, and live happily ever after," bani wishes in her mind. She smiles at her childish wish and opens her eyes slowly. Bani kisses the coin and drops it into the see through water, with million other shiny coins, winking at her. She turns to her side and sees Jai with closed eyes and holding a coin in his fingers. Bani patiently waits for him.
Jai didn't really need anything in his life, he was perfectly find and satisfied with what he had. "I wish for whatever bani wished for comes true." Jai opens his eyes and throws the coin into the water. He looks over to bani and sees her looking at him, a sweet smile on her face.
Jai: What'd you wish for?
Bani decides against telling jai her true wish, because that would mean it wouldn't come true.
Bani: (smiles wickedly) I wished for Raj Patel to get run over by a bus and die. 😈😆
Jai bursts into laughter and bani joins him.
Bani: What'd you wish for?
Jai: (grins) …same thing.

Pia's cell phone begins to ring and she picks it up.
Pia: Hello?
Riya: Hello?! Pia?!
Pia: (happy) Hey Riya! How are you?
Riya: not good! How come bani isn't picking up her phone?!
Pia: She probably left it back at the hotel. What do you mean you're not doing good? What's wrong?
Riya: Pia! Papa just told me that the wedding has been changed to three weeks!!!!
Pia: WHAT?! How? When? Why?
Riya: I don't know! But he's getting all the preparations done and EVERYTHING! What are we gonna do?!
Pia: Oh My God! Um….(thinks for awhile) I got it! This is what you do, you go and get the ho…..(voice drains out so we can't hear what pia's saying to riya)
