Part 10:
Jai is hit with the greatest shock as he takes a step backward. Everything suddenly seems so unreal to him! All his dreams shattered by one sentence! With the ring in one hand and the frame in other, he walks to his study, in daze…how can life be so cruel…….just when I found my happiness…
Bani continues: Pushkar se mera koi rishta tha hi nahi. Who sirf mera dost tha aur mein dosti ko kuch aur samajh bethi. Tum janti ho mein sab bhool chuki ho, kyu purani baatein nikal rahi ho. Ab meri nayi zindagi hai,, Rano………………mein Mr. Walia se pyaar karne lagi hoon………wo meri zindagi hai
Rano is shocked!: didi aap, Mr. Walia se! kitne dukh diye hai unhone aapko
Bani: pyaar mein insaan sab bhool jata hai Rano. Tum nahi samjhogi, achha mein chalti hoon
Rano holding Banis hand as she walks away, stands as she says: Didi, mein samajhti hoon. Aapse kuch kehna hai. Promise me, you wont get angry.
Bani: Rano who will you share this with if not me, bolo
Rano, taking a few steps away, hurries everything out: Didi I love Sahil, aur wo bhi, par maine use nahi bataya
Bani shocked just looks at her: Rano yeh kya hai, maine tum logo ko pehle hi! Uff, Rano tum janti ho jigyasa aunty ko, yeh possible nahi hai!
Rano: didi please gussa mat ho
Bani placing her hand on Rano's shoulder: Rano mein, mein nahi janti, pata nahin…
Bani, confused, leaves….
In the study:
Jai in his study gritting his teeth as he speaks: Pushkar! Pushkar tum kyu hamesha meri khushiyan chheen lete ho! Mera peechha chod do!
Jai, in agony, drinks himself to sleep in the study!
Bani, not finding Jai in their bedroom even when its quite late, looks for him only to find him sleeping in his study.
A smile appears on her face as she thinks: pyaar kitna ajeeb hota hai….pata hi nahi chalta kab ho jata hai.
Not wanting to disturb him, she brings a comforter from her room to cover him. The next morning she comes to the study with tea, only to find Jai up from his sleep.
Bani: Mr. Walia aapki chai
Jai curtly: Thanks
Bani: breakfast ready hai please neeche aajaiye
Jai rudely: hmm
Bani leaves the room. Jai recalls last night's events and notices the comforter. With a sober mind, and feeling guilty at the way he spoke to her just now, he
thinks to himself: agar Bani Pushkar se pyaar karti hai to isme Pushkar ki koi galti nahi hai. Agar Pushkar ki jagah koi aur bhi hota, tab bhi koi fark nahi padta. Ek tarfa pyaar se shadi nahi chalti. Lekin iska yeh matlab nahi ki Bani ke liye mera pyaar kabhi kam hoga. Its only me who has always made her realize that she has to leave one day. Par jab tak hum saath hai, tab tak to mein usse achha pesh a sakta hoon…
He returns to his room, takes a shower, and realizes that he didn't take his clothes with him to change. He peeks out of the door, upon not seeing anyone, he comes out and goes to his cupboard in his robe. Just then Bani and Masi enter the room. Jai is busy selecting clothes for himself facing the cupboard. Masi speaks, startling Jai
Munna: kya hua Munna, kabse dhoond raha hai kapde, Bani tu jakar select kar de
Bani: who is as embarrassed to see jai, as jai himself, makes an excuse: Maasi mein, Tony ko help chahiye mein abhi ayi
Masi: arre ruk ja. Ja jakar Jai ke kapde nikal.
Bani: slowly walks toward Jai with her head down while Jai pulls is robe around securely, to make sure nothing is visible!
Masi: arre Bani, tu kitni pagal hai. Tum dono aise kar rahe ho, jaise Bani ne pehle baar Jai to is halat mein dekha hai.
Both are further embarrassed by this comment, and as soon as Bani hands him some clothes, Masi leaves. Bani is just standing there, waiting for Jai to leave for the Bathroom, Jai on the other hand is waiting for Bani to leave. Irritated at the invasion of his privacy, already after an evening of foul mood, he says:
Jai: kya tumhare saamne change karna padega? Phir jaoogi?
Bani who cannot take it anymore bursts into laughter and runs out with her face all red!
Jai thinking: Bani mujhe itna confuse kyu karti ho! Tumhari baatein kuch aur batati hai aur tumhari khamoshi aur harkate kuch aur….
Later that night:
After dinner everyone has retired to their bedroom. Its midnight and Jai, who has several files to go through before tomorrow, has been in their bedroom, reading a file on his side of the bed. Bani enters the room, as soon as she takes her night gown from the cupboard her cell rings. Jai is surprised as he thinks who might have called Bani at this hour. Suddenly he isn't reading the file anymore and is all ears to her conversation.
Bani glances at Jai as she picks her cell phone. Its pia., and Bani talks in whispers to her so she doesn't disturb Jai.
Pia: Diiiiiii!!!!! Happy Birthday Di! Kaise hai aap?
Bani: Tum! Thanks! Mujhe to yaad hi nahi raha
Pia: par mein to nahi bhuli
Bani: thank you soooo much. Hum kal milenge.
Pia: achha di, rakhti hoon byee. Luv you di.
Bani: me too. Bye.
Jai is again surprised to see Bani smile so contently after the call. He starts sulking and getting jealous wondering who Bani is speaking to. Suddenly there is a knock on the door. Bani gives one look to Jai, making sure he is not angry, and proceeds to open the door. Its Rano, who peeks in:
Rano: di sorry to disturb you.. kya aap bahar aa sakti hai?
Bani: ha,
Bani leaves the door open, glancing at Jai again, as Rano pulls her out. Rano gives Bani a huge teddy bear hug and squeals in whispers: Dii!!! Happy Birthday!!
Bani: Rano tumhe bhi yaad hai? Abhi pia ka phone tha
Rano: ofcourse di! Hum behne aapka birthday kabhi bhuli?
Bani: thank you soooooooo much Rano, meri behno ko mera kitna khayal hai
Rano: di hum kal kya karenge
Bani: rano hum kuch nahi kar sakte, bohot kaam hai ghar par, aur kisi ko pata bhi nahi. Hum sirf pia se milne jayenge.
Ranos face falls
Bani: Rano, please understand, chodo kal ko, Tumhari birthday par hum zaroor kuch karenge.
Bani gives her a hug and comes back inside.
This time Jai, who couldn't take it anymore, decided to eavesdrop, pretending to use the bathroom. As he passed by the door, Bani say, "..kal ko tumhari birthday par hum zaroor kuch karenge"
Jai: aaj Rano ka birthday hai, shayad phone bhi usi ke bare mein tha hoga…
