Dhani, I think the best part for me would be the final part. Did bani get some hints due to which she posed this question to Jai ? Overall i would say it was a roller coaster emotions wise for Jai and Bani. Jai's character is well etched as an escapist. Always escaping when he sees that things are not under his control incl his emotions. looks like Bani is ready to face her demons though.

Hope Jai and Bani can make their marriage work after what happen.

Jai ran away.....scared to face consequeces. Both weren't upset with what happened but skeptical about others reaction.

Where do they go from here?

I hope Bani being pregnant is not the reason they stay together.

Hey Dhani just read all the parts in one go. Great story.

Saw a few episodes of "Bairi piya" the storyline has something which has hooked me. There is no sizzling chemistry between Amoli and Digvijay, in fact she looks like a lamb in fort of him, but still there is something going on between them. And Sharad is a dream; he plays this obsessive, lustful lover to the T. He was good as Nahar but he has excelled as Digvijay, brilliant, the layers of greyness in the character is so damn appealing, I wonder how amoli is resisting herself, no that was just a joke, but nonetheless after KS if anything has appealed to my instinct it has to be Bairi piya, even 'basera' which looked promising didn't touch that chord which I was waiting for, I have stopped watching it long time back, it has become so clichd, I dread it's going to end. But I desperately wish RAM to do something very different and cool maybe a negative character, I loved him as Jas Tahakral, he was so English and Shakespearean, I actually fell in love with the catman.

I would certainly love to write something like Bairi piya, not necessarily the same plotline but ya, the negativity, the devilish attitude, the audacity to be arrogant and madly passionate is something I love, I find it divine. Any ideas, please tell me, I would love to write something grey.

Part-14

Bani sat near the window…her palms resting in her lap…she stared at the sluggish drifting amorphous grey clouds… what was happening to her she couldn't figure out…fortunately or unfortunately she was not pregnant…she had locked herself up in the bathroom for hours together, sitting under the shower clutching her abdomen when her periods started…Why she was hurting herself she didn't know? What was hurting her she didn't even know that? She had stopped going to the orphanage also…she felt everything to be lifeless and dead…

Jai saw bani fiddling with her food, the spoon clattering against the plate, she looked pale, dark circles below her huge eyes…

"Bani are you fine?" he asked softly…

"It's none of your business…" she snapped…

"You seem unwell…"

"I said it's none of your god damn business…and by the way you can be relieved I am not pregnant…" she shouted back staring at him with lifeless eyes…

"Shut up!!!" he hissed back, placing the back of his palm on her forehead… it was burning… anger rose inside him…

"You are running with high fever…" he said angrily, telling tony to call the doctor…

"I am fine…" she said pushing his hand away…he got up irritated…picking her up, he started climbing the stairs heeding to none of her protests, in no time bani gave up feeling extremely weak, she slumped into unconsciousness by the time he placed her on the bed, he looked around to notice her bedroom to be a complete mess…

"Why are you doing this to yourself bani…? Why…?" he whispered stroking her hair…

"No need to worry, it's just slight fever…keep checking her temperature time to time and giver her this medicine…she should be fine in a few days… "The doctor said…

"Yes doctor…thank you so much…" jai replied looking at bani who was in deep sleep…

"Once she gets up giver some soup…it will help…"

"Sure thank you once again…"

Bani stirred in her sleep…trying to get up…

"Easy…" jai said helping her sit up…

"Tony, get some soup…bani will take her medicine…"

"I don't want any medicine…" she gurgled

"I didn't ask you…" jai replied curtly, his mobile rang…

"Oh!!Yes Mr. Sahrma….I know I was supposed to come…but please cancel it…I will not be able to come for another week, some personal thing has come up…" jai…

"Ya please reschedule it…thank you…" jai disconnected the phone and switched it off…

"You don't need to cancel your appointments because of me…I can take care of myself…" bani said gruffly…

"Did I ask you what I should do…just shut up…" he snarled pissed off by her stupid behavior…

"Why are you shouting?" she cried out…

"Why are you making me shout then?"

Bani bent her head, sniffing…

"What is this bani…what happened…why you are doing this to yourself…?" he asked coming near her, holding her hand…

"I don't know…I… " she wailed desperately…

"Bani…" he felt terrible seeing her like this…so helpless and lifeless…

"I…I hate crying…I…hate this…" she mewled crying harder, she threw her hands around his neck, burying her face in his chest hiccupping…he rubbed her back, soothing her…

Jai checked the temperature again…it had dropped but bani was still weak…thankfully bani had calmed down…

"Here, have some khichdi…you still look pale…" jai extended the plate towards her, seeing her make no movement…he lifted the spoonful of khichdi and placed it before her mouth…bani pushed away the spoon…

"Bani…please…don't start again…" jai said putting the spoon before her, she pushed it again…every time jai lifted the spoon; bani pushed it away nonchalantly…

"Bani…please…" jai looked into her eyes…finally bani opened her mouth and ate…

"Here, have some water…" jai said handing a glass of water along with her tablet…bani silently gulped down the medicine down her throat…

"Try to sleep…" he said adjusting the quilt…

"Jai…" bani said abruptly, shocking him, it was endearing, his name from her lips…he realized he had missed her calling his name for the past few weeks… he swallowed hard…why did make him so emotional…he was so habituated to this lonely life sterile of any sentiments and emotional baggage but suddenly bani had erupted a myriad of feeling in him, happiness, joy, vigor, concern, anger, sadness, hurt, pain and may be something much more…

"Yes…" he said composing himself…

"I…I can't live like this anymore…" she said with an elusive dullness which struck his heart…

"I need to go…go somewhere…far away…papa is no more and buaji is also away…I think it's time we end this deal here…" all the time she spoke she had her eyes downcast, as if she was running away from something…

"I can't go on like this…and more over…I have irritated you enough, finally you will be free from my clutches… everything will be as before…" even in the midst of this turmoil she didn't; miss her humor as she chuckled looking at him…

"Hmm…you recover first…I can't let you go in this state…" he said…

"It's over…and out…" bani whispered to herself…

"Yes…everything comes to an end bani…today or tomorrow…" jai said philosophically… it was a nice to battle a situation…

"Oh yes…it does…!!! I am tired…I want to sleep…good night…" bani pulled over the quilt…lying down…

Jai slowly got up…experiencing a gamut of raw emotions…he heard speak again...

"Will you miss me jai…?" came her muffled voice…jai scuttled out hurriedly…bani closed her eyes as she heard the door shut…

"I will miss you jai…I will miss you a lot…" she whispered to herself…

"Please stop her sir…" tony almost pleaded as he saw bani descending the stairs…with a lone bag…jai kept mum…

"Hey…" bani tried to smile at the two men…

"Tony, I hope you will remember me…" bani said pressing her lisp against his cheek…

"Of course I will…always…" he chocked…

"You are crying…Tony…stop it…you know I don't like people who cry…" bani said hugging him…

"I promise I will come to see you and send you a Christmas gift every year…" bani cheered him up…

"Don't go…" he mumbled…

"I have to Tony…I have to…"

"Bye jai…all the best…and take care of the orphanage...and say sorry to father...i am leavign withotu meetign him..." bani stood awkwardly…

"God bless you bani…and may the best happen to you…you deserve it…" he placed his hand on her head, praying for her…

"Thanks…"

"Shall I drop you…?" jai asked removing his hand gawkily placing it in his pocket…

"No jai…our journeys are separate from now on…and we have to stick to it…Bye!!!" bani turned around and left…

"Please stop her sir…" tony sobbed…

"Everybody has to go sometime or the other…" jai tunred back, climbing the stairs... ...
