Hey Dhani,
Read the last two parts. Very well portrayed emotions and inner turmoil of Bani. Sometimes we know that we are grieving for something that cannot be changed but cannot control our emotions, thoughts and actions.
Liked the way Jai got concerned about Bani's drifting away from her normal self and grieving alone without sharing her sorrow with anybody. It was good that she found comfort in Jai and her work in orphanage. Like Bani said, Jai no doubt is a good man but what was the real reason for his being upset. Was it because he could not see Bani withering in her sorrow or that it hurt him what Bani said. Had he unknowingly started looking at their relation in different light and Bani's statement of separate journey's brought him back to reality.
Anyways it is a very good read. And I must tell you that the story was sad at that point but not dull. Change is the law of life, it is good that you want to write something different. Do give it a try and you know we are ready to read and praise and criticize. As for ideas, you must have got hundreds by now, so I don't need to say about that. It is the idea/storyline that you want different not JB or you want to change the main protagonists. I doubt you would as JB is what kasamse was about and had us still coming to the forum.

"Jai please…" bani made a puppy face…

"Bani…I don't celebrate diwali…I am not coming…" jai said feeling agitated…

"Jai I have planned it for the kids, they are so excited…please come…and give them gifts, they will feel so nice…" bani cajoled him…jai looked at her…

"Pleaseee…"

"Okay…" jai agreed giving up…bani hugged him tight…

"You are a sweetheart…" she just jumped up and left, thinking of all the arrangements she was yet to do…leaving a baffled jai behind…

Jai stood at a distance watching bani play with the kids…she was lighting fire crackers with them…he smiled as he saw her hurrying towards him…

"You know I never had so much fun in Diwali…" bani said…looking at jai…she was amazed to see a peculiar radiant smile on his face…

"Me too…after maa and papa went I didn't feel like celebrating…but…" jai just leaned forward…placing a sweet kiss on her cheek…

"Thank you for bringing back my childhood…" he said leaving her behind, walking towards the kids…he joined their fun…bani remained glued to her spot…she blinked her eyes…feeling dazed… …

Bani wrapped her stoll around herself; she was wearing a navy blue kurti over her fitted jeans…while jai looked casual in his khaki pants and white shirt…they again waved the kids good bye…

"Happy Diwali jai…" bani wished him…

"Happy diwali to you too bani…" jai flashed her a smile… bani looked ahead, feeling a bit discomfited remembering his gentle kiss…it was purely platonic but she felt something which she hadn't ever felt before…after a brief lull of heavy silence bani spoke up…

"Seeing these children I have realized jai…it is so important to love… and to be loved…" bani said wistfully…

"But everyone is not so lucky…" jai said…

"Hmm…forget it…tonight I feel like partying…you know in college we used bunk and go clubbing…it was so much fun…" bani said suddenly excited…

"Ya, college days are golden days…" jai replied…

"Let's just relive it…lets have some fun…is there any lounge or club here…" bani said…

"You are talking to Jai Walia bani…I have a hotel here with every possible thing in it…"

"You never told me…"

"Well…"

"Okay come…time to party…" bani dragged his arm leading him to the car…

"Wow…this is cool…" bani exclaimed as she entered the club reverberating with loud music…

"Come…" bani tugged his arm…going towards the dance floor where everyone was drowned in the madness…

"I am a terrible dancer bani…" jai had to almost scream to make her hear…

"Me too…" she laughed… swaying to the peppy song…jai just stood watching her…a few grouped of boys surrounded her…bani carelessly danced…bani winked at jai who just smiled and walked towards the bar, steering through the berserk crowd…

"You are gorgeous…" one of the young boys commented rollickingly…

"Tell me something I don't know…" bani screeched back…

"You are fast…"

"I know…"

"Your place or mine…" he asked eyeing her…

"Well, I will ask my husband and tell you…give me a minute…" bani grinned at him…the group dissipated and scrammed away…bani spotted jai sipping a drink looking at her…she came towards him…

"What happened…Did they misbehave??" he asked…almost sounding protective of her…

"Nay…he was asking me out…" bani said curiously looking at the bartender who was mixing the cocktails skillfully…

"Are you going??" he teased her…

"I said I will ask my husband and come…" jai let out a throaty laughter…

"Can I have a drink…??" bani asked…

"Orange or lemon…" he suggested…

"I mean a hard drink…" bani said dubiously…jai gave her stare…

"No…"

"I am not a kid…" she whined…

"Bani…you can't handle it…"

"No, I can…what are you drinking I want that…" bani said stubbornly…

"Its vodka bani…" jai said…

"One vodka please…" bani ordered…

"Bani no, it's too strong…I will order something mild…" jai said…

"No, I have never drank in my life, I will never after this…so let me enjoy…"

"Bani…please…" before he could stop her she had gulped the alcohol…

"Yuck…" she yelped…

"See…I told you…"

"Hmm…but it feels different…my head feels so light…I will have another…"

"Bani no…"

"Enjoy jai..." she sang along with the music…

Bani held onto jai, who himself was stumbling, they had got carried away, drinking to the hilt…jai was a bit decent and somehow drove back, but bani was a goner…[Disclaimer: Don't drive while drunk]

"Jaiiiii….I had so much funnn…" bani hummed the song…

"Bani…I think there are steps…" jai said in a flipping tone trying to strain his eyes in the dim light…

"Carefuulllll…step by step…" bani lifted her leg putting it on the step, then raising another…

Somehow they reached bani's room…jai kicked the door open; pulling bani along with him…they tripped over and fell on the bed…bani laughed foolishly…

"We…fell…" she laughed more…

"I will go…" jai said, his eyes shuttering…

"Stay…" she said turning towards him…they kept looking at each other…bani let out a deep sigh… …

"Sometimes I feel that rano di is right…" bani lisped…

"About what…" he whispered… staring at the ceiling…

"You need someone in life jai…"

"Maybe…" he said sloppily

"Do we lack something jai…are we missing out something…?"

"I feel jealous seeing di and pia... …di was soooo happy when she told me that she was pregnant…I could hear that in her voice…" bani sighed, looking dreamy…

"Can't we love anyone jai…" bani looked at jai…

"I don't know…" he turned to face her…

"You don't know…I don't know…no one knows…" bani blabbered; her eyelids flapping…jai for the first time noticed the vulnerable little girl inside her…she was enchanting and endearing…he lifted his palm slowly…caressing her cheek with his thumb…she opened her eyes looking at him steadily…

"Jaii…" she purred…he leaned forward brushing his lip slightly across hers…bani blinked…opening her mouth…the slight peck turned into a passionate kiss as they let themselves loose…she arched against him reaching for himsliding her fingers through his hair, needing something to hold on to…his hand slew over her back, unzipping her top…delicious tremors ran through his body as he felt her heaving br***ts, her squelched moans echoing in his ears drove him mad…his body stiffed as he sensed her hand crawling inside his shirt, down to his abdomen, fondling…with a muffled groan he came over her…kissing her hard…the last remnants of practicality he had struggled to gather flew out of his muzzy head…

o o thats why they say drinking is bad for u. as much as i wanted them to take this step in their relationship I cant help but be worried about their reactions the next morning. Will one of them apologize or accuse the other one of taking advantage or will they pretend like nothing happened and be hurt by eachothers indifference? Cant wait to see wat happens next.
