I know, I am moving fast, but I have no choice. I think I will finish it, I have almost covered all the points Sonam wanted to include. And thank you for all the jhootas and chapels, and of course the wonderful comments, I will safe-keep them in my heart!!!!
Currently, I am buried in books, I waned to read "Inheritance of Loss" and "White Tiger", after months of pestering my dad has finally got them for me!!! And I am loving it!!!

Bani felt uneasy, queasy… for the past few days she was feeling a bit weak and hungry too…she wondered if it had anything to do with missing her periods…she felt a wary pang inside her, she got up leaving the clothes aside which she was folding… ran into the bathroom…she lowered her head into the washbasin sink and started vomiting…
Jai entered the room, to see bani nowhere in sight…he heard some voices coming from the bathroom…he hurried inside to see bani clutching the sides of the basin tightly, vomiting…jai reached her side…rubbing her back…
"Kya hua bani…" he asked worriedly…bani stopped to vomit any further…she looked pale as if life had been sucked out of her…before any of them could comprehend anything bani fell over jai, loosing consciousness… jai carried her to the bed and laid her down, covering her with a blanket he shouted for Krishna and jigyasa, who came hurriedly…
"Kay hua…" Krishna said, seeing bani lying almost lifeless on the bed, she feared that the excessive work she was forced to do had a taken toll on the nubile thing…
"Pata nahin maa, main andar aaya toh ulti kar rahin thi, phir behosh hogayi…aap bani ke paas baithiye, main doctor ko bula lata hoon…"
Jai rushed out of the house…Krishna and jigyasa looked at each other, their minds coming to the same conclusion…
Krishna went near bani, holding her wrist she checked her pulse, it seemed she was pregnant…she didn't now how to feel, happy to see her grandchild or rather sad to believe that a poor, classless girl was bearing her grandchild…no matter what, the truth had to be accepted…it couldn't be changed…

The poorly equipped village doctor examined a still unconscious bani…
"Khush khabri hain Walia sahib, aap baap banne waale hain…" he announced…jai couldn't react…his mind stopped working, the gravity of the truth sank in to him, he gave a feeble smile to the doctor…
"Unki kam umar ki wajah se thodi si kamzoor hain, khaane peene ka dhyaan rakhiyega, koi vajaan waale kaam mat karwaiye…behtar hoga ki aap sheher main ek baar poori jaanch karva lijiye…" jai nodded his head…and proceeded to escort him out…
He returned back to his room, jigyasa and Krishna smiled at him flakily, Krishna gushed something about her grandson and left…

Jai sat besides bani, slowly caressing her hair, a child, his child, his and bani's child…he was too shocked to react, how could he have ignored such a big possibility, bani was too young, it might hamper her health…the next thing in the morning he would take her to the town for a proper checkup…a smile spread on his face thinking about a futuristic picture of himself, bani and their child…his thoughts broke apart by some inaudible sound made by bani…he looked down, she was struggling to open her eyes…
"Bani…" jai called out slowly…
"Kya hua…" bani asked trying to sit up…jai adjusted a pillow behind her and helped her to sit upright…
"Kuch nahin bani, tum theek ho…" he said, anxious to tell her about their child…
"Kuch bhi nahin khayaa fir bhi ulti hogayi, ajeeb lag raha hain…" bani said, not understanding what happened to her…jai brought a glass of water for her and coaxed her to drink it…keeping the glass aside he held her palms in his…
"Bani…tum…tum maa banne waali ho…" he said without lifting his head, bani went numb…
"Main, main jaanta hoon, tum bohot choti ho abhi, yeh sab…bani…" jai failed to put words to his thoughts…
"Main humare bache ko nahin giraoongi…"bani said firmly…yes, it was unexpected, but how could she kill an innocent life and that too her own flesh and blood…jai looked up…she smiled back…jai felt relieved…
"Main kal tumhe sheher leke jaaoonga, doctor ke pass…I promise bani, tum aur humare bache ko kuch nahin hoga…" jai said cupping her face…bani leaned against him…savoring the feeling…

Jai purchased the tonics and tablets as prescribed by the doctor, bani was too weak and she needed iron to strengthen her bones…as of now both the child and she were safe but any physical exertion, or mental stress could hamper both the mother and the child…
Jai led her to the car, holding her lightly…
"Sunna bani, aaj se tum koi kaam nahin karogi, bas araam karogi…" jai said…
Bani smiled and nodded her head, this was the nth time was telling this…but how would Krishna and jigyasa react, it caused an unknown fear inside her…
She kept staring outside…suddenly her eyes fell on a narrow lane, it was the same street which lead to her house, her eyes moistened…probably she should ask jai, but then Krishna's threat haunted her…

The next few weeks, jai tried to spent as much time with bani, looking after her, taking her to check ups…but Bani was surprised to see Krishna and jigyasa hovering over her, pampering her, she knew it was because of the child, she was not allowed to do any work, just some cooking and arranging clothes…she was astonished to find Krishna and jigyasa advising her what to eat, what not to eat…she wondered what caused this sudden change in them… unaware of the fact that jai's constant presence in the house had lead to change in their behavior…bani's health was improving, she had gained some weight, and her face was glowing day by day…it was her fifth month when jai had to go to the city, there had been some mishap in the transport, and he was summoned for some clarifications…

Bani looked at jai with distressed eyes…jai didn't look at her, he knew one look at her face and he would not be able to leave…he would have assigned this job to somebody else but it was very important and his presence was very much required…but when he would come back was difficult to say, there may be some legal litigations…
Bani started crying…jai looked at her…
"Bani, mat ro, main aa jaaunga…" jai tried to pacify her…bani turned her face…he hands lying on her belly which was slightly protruding…
"Bani…mera jaana bohot zaroori hain…warna main tumhe chodkar kabhi nahin jaata…" he said, holding her…she continued to cry…almost hiccupping…
"Mujhe chodke mat jaaiye…" bani cried…jai hugged her…
"Main aajaoonga bani, bas thode din…"
"Jaldi aayenge na…"
"Haan baba…"
"Pakka…"
"pakka…"
"Ab chalo muskurao…" jai said wiping her tears…bani tried but failed to smile…jai slightly tickled her…a pretty smile formed on her lips…he kissed her forehead…

"Maa, bani ka khayaal rakhiyega, aur saari dawaiyan time pe dijiyega…" jai said to Krishna…
"Tu chinta kyun karta hain beta, main hoon na, main poora khayaal rakhoonga apne bahu aur pote ka…"
"Main jaldi aane ki koshish karoonga, aap khayaal rakhiye…"
"Haan beta, tu fikar mat ka, main aur jigyasa hain na…tu sambhal kar jaa…"
Jai went away…bani looked at his retreating figure form the bedroom window…tears streaming down her face…
Krishna and jigyasa gave each to her an evil smile…
"Baniiii…." Krishna shouted…Bani was startled for a second, she carefully went down to see Krishna and jigyasa sitting on the sofa, which a devilish smile playing on their lips…
"Jee…maaji…" bani said fearing the worst…
"Ghar ka kaam kar bahu, woh beena hain na, uski tabiyat theek nahin hain toh, tujhe ki karna padega…" Krishna said…they had purposefully given beena, their house-maid an indefinite holiday…of course paying her extra…
"Par maaji…"
"Maaji. Maaji kya laga rakha hain, behri hain kya, chup chaap jhadoo utha aur saaf kar, ek katra mail bhi nahin dikhna chahiye…" jigyasa ordered…bani broke into tears… …she took the broom…and started sweeping, carefully…
