I will be able to give you more details once all the results come back…said Neeta…in the mean time Bani I think that you are extremely weak and so I am going to tell you that you need to rest up…I think I will have the results back by this evening…I can have them sent home or you can pick them up….

Jai opened the envelope and did a doubletake…then had a grin on his face….now he understood why Bani felt so tired and was nauseous…he had never given a thought to becoming a parent…but he was happy….genuinely happy….his life now coming to a full circle…he could not wait to go home and tell Bani…
…Masi, Bani kaha hai…
….Arre beta she is still upstairs, I did not let her do anything in the house today, she still did not look too well and I had to force her to eat too….and so I think she must be resting up…
I will go check on her…so saying Jai moved towards the stairs…

Jai walked upstairs…seeing Bani, cleaning the cupboard, he asked…how are you feeling???

Bani grabs the reports…Bani Walia..aged 21…pregnancy results…positive…
She could not believe it, did not want to believe it…oh no…no…she thought…this could not be right…she can't be pregnant….that meant that Mr. Walia did get what he wanted….
Jai saw Bani frowning…she looked unhappy…

Just then they heard a knock…Tony came in with the tray with tea and snacks on it…

After Tony left, Jai saw Bani standing by the window…looking out....in a stance that showed that she is mad and very upset….

No I don't think so …there is absolutely no need to talk to you…I have nothing to talk to you…I will make the decision this time….I will not let you have any say in this matter…it is my body so I will decide what I want to do…and I honestly don't care what you think… I am too young to have children…for god's sake I have not even seen Mumbai completely yet and I will not let you force this decision on me….

Hearing this Jai stormed out of the bedroom…angry and ready to kill someone….
Bani threw herself on the bed sobbing, unhappy that once again a decision in her life has been made…why is it such a big issue when I want to make a decision of my life…yes he is my husband but so what???...does that give him the right to tell me what to do??

Swiping the back of her hands across her face…Bani thought to herself…this time it will be my decision…even if it upsets Mr. Walia…after all it is my body…I am the one who has to carry the baby…..I should be the one who should be upset….knowing that I was used… I refuse to be used anymore….used as a pawn…this time I will finish the game that someone else has started…

Jai went straight to the study, grabbing a bottle of whiskey himself a glass. He was so angry and so upset that he wanted to drown his sorrows in the drink…he could not believe that Bani had got this crazy idea as to why he had married her….where could she have got this notion from??... he wondered….he needed to clarify this…he would clarify this….he did not know how but he did….
No point in drowning himself in the drink he figured…it was one of the happiest days in his life…or atleast it could be one of the happiest days in his life…..if only Bani could let it be…
He thought back to the day when the Dixit sisters had entered his home…Bani had been reluctant to accept his help even then…and how slowly they had all adapted themselves and become a part of the family…Bani had stirred his heart by offering to pay him the rent…he had understood Bani's need to keep her self-respect by accepting minimal help…he had admired her for it. He had never heard her complaint about anything, making the best of any situation…always looking out for everybody in the family…be it Masi or Dadi or one of the kids… always willing to do more than her fair share…always making sure that everyone is happy…he knew he had taken advantage of the situation when it came up where he had quite high-handedly married her…he knew that she had feeling for him….only he believed that she had not been able to understand them yet…he knew she respected him…she admired him and maybe even liked him but did she love him?? How should he read her behavior?? ….especially now when she wanted to choose whether to keep the baby…his baby…his child…
It was not as if he had fallen in love with her overnight…it was not love at first sight either….but the way she tired to handle both the work at home and at work had got his attention...he knew the idea took firm ground when Masi insisted that he should get married to a gharelu ladki and Jigyasa had offered to get information regarding her friends relatives….his admiration grew when he saw her even putting up with Jigyasa's taunts….dealing with them until the day when she had decided to move out with her sisters…. He knew then that he had to make a quick decision…so that she would not have the chance to move out of the house….Jigyasa he thought…was the main player when that decision was made…
Jigyasa….Jigyasa….he thought….she was always creating problems for them….could it be her…hmmmmm…he could not think of anyone else coming up with such an absurd idea…and the state Bani was in…she would surely believe such nonsense….he had to get to the bottom of this….he thought with a frown…
He smiled as an idea started forming in his head…
