Feb 25th episode we seee a glimpse of Soni s childhood. She is tormented by a vision of a man in a bedroom hanging himself. A lady holds her and tells her dark people have dark hearts or something to that affect. Then we see the same lady dressed in white obviously the funeral holding her. My conclusion for this to have impacted her, the person who died must of been a close member of the family and so I’m guessing it’s her father. Wouldn’t that be a twist! Soni’s father is a dark complexion man 😂😂

I’m still not liking how the are down playing Purnimas dark beauty. I hope that when she and Kartik do get together they will start to show her dark beauty to be more beautiful than her light skinned sister!

Dark people are just are beautiful and worthy, the cast system and complexion system is a real shame not only in India where they strive to be white looking, but all over the world and why??? We need to set better trends.

Those who act on hatred of people because of complexion or skin colour are the poop and cockroaches of this earth. If someone thinks they better because the have lighter skinned come to North America where white People still see you Indian people are dirt people 😂😂😂😂

No matter what race or nationality, everyone has that need to feel superior to someone. Indians, and south asians in general achieve that by pretending like most of them are fair-skinned and that dark-skinned indians/ south asians are a minority rather than the actual truth that most south asians are dusky. They further achieve this sense of superiority by promoting indians of fair skin tones in the media to attempt to portray the false image that fair skin alone is synonymous with indians, or even hire europeans to model for their brands too, showing european women modelling indian clothes for indian brands or makeup brands. It's a disgusting message they try and send out.

I think the CV/PH are going overboard with this whole Soni Mehta and obsession with fairness because her one line where she said she doesn’t like black coloured persons was so bloody racist not only to dark skinned Indians but those who are of African /Black

I’m surprised the channel did not get reported by those watching outside of India

It's visibly overdone. It's pathetic that they are making her not only racist, but seemingly giving her a weird childhood trauma to justify her colour biased attitude. Like why can't they make it more believable by showing that her colour bias is simply because of image and class consciousness and the ignorant view that dark skin is synonymous with only lower class people? They don't need childhood trauma to justify her racist attitude towards anybody with dark skin tone.

Flashback scene with Soni......

She was a little girl traumatized seeing a man who had hung himself. In that moment of high emotion the adult female planted a seed of hatred in her mind that is still running her life today. Power of suggestion in moments of high emotions become deeply rooted in the mind.

This level of hatred is prevalent in real life. Many people hold such judgments based on color, religion, nationality, status etc but show a public face that says otherwise pretending to be who they are not. It’s a public facade so they won’t be judged for their bias. It’s shallow and is often something learned at a young age from comments made by the people who influence them.

Science proves that the color of one’s skin, hair, eyes are determined by less than 1% of human DNA yet that is what is running most people’s biased outlook in daily life.

For no fault of theirs dark skinned people often try twice as hard to be accepted.
