Hello People,

While listening to a song, earlier this week, a thought completely different from that of the mood of the song, struck me and I put it down in the form of a short story.

Written intially with no one in particular in mind, I then decided to associate with the characters Shiv and Gauri as portrayed intially in the show, Shiv being the quintessential dashing eligible bachelor and Gauri being the demure , well educated ( okay I drifted there a bit from the original semi educated...), introverted yet confident young woman.

Close to a finish, I am yet to wrap it up... and hence thought would jus give the preview and in a few more clock ticks post the entire story itself. Its a really short story.. rather an extension of a thought, I would say, that I felt like sharing here in the form of a short story...

Song Of Dawn

The ceremonial din faded into the echo of footsteps in the silent corridor, as she walked towards , what was to be her world , from the moment on...

A strange sense of calm filling her, the nervous anxiety suddenly seeming distant and strange, she let the sound of her footsteps echo in her ears, as she approached the place...

Pausing momentarily in front of the door, she gingerly placed held the door knob...and looking at her mehendi adorned fingers around the knob , slowly turned the knob and opened the door slightly and slowly pushing the door open...stepped in...

She stood there for a few moments, holding the door by the knob, right at the doorstep... and looked around....taking in the surroundings...

.... A large painting on the wall afore her , of an Italian villa, that overlooked the ocean... , bunch of white lilies in a crystal vase on the table directly below the painting... A large bed adorned with flowers at the far end of the room... and sofas at the opposite end... witha television and music system tucked away in a comfortable corner near the seating arrangement. A pile of CDs lay near the music system... arranged in order...

Struggling to read from a distance the names on the cover of the CDs ... she turned her gaze to look around the room..

Stepping in, taking a few more steps, she let go of the knob , letting the door close behind her with a click, as she stood there, looking at lilies... and turning her gaze noticed the window ....

Caught by a sudden instinct, she walked over slowly, towards the window and slowly pulled the drapes, and pushed open ...as the cool breeze washed over face... and swept through her hair... as a thin strand of hair caressed her cheek lazily....

She smiled lightly, as the cool breeze swept over her face... placing her palms on the window sill.... her bangles made a tinkling sound against the window sill, making her look down at her bangles... and her mehendi adorned hands....

Lifting her hands, she looked at her palms... covered in a deep color of mehendi, the smell of mehendi, still fresh as she held her palms close...

She noticed the name painted on her palm in the corner...as the voice of her Aunt, rang in her ears...She had always wondered why they had called it so, the color of love... "Mehendi ka rang...".. there was always so much emphasis on it, every woman , longed for a deeper shade...

She looked at her palms, the shade of mehendi was deep, a deep red. She looked at them, not sure why she felt so, she smiled ...noticing the deep shade her palms were covered in... She instantly felt in love with the color... the color had never appealed to her more than it did now....

Noticing the ring on her finger, she turned her palm to notice the lone stone sparkle bright ...She caressed with her other hand ... looking at it, with a calm expression... her face revealing nothing but a sense of calm...

Turning around, she walked over to the sofa and sat down... and stared at the clock on the wall , that ticked away in silence...

She was to wait ... her friends had teased her, about the sweet longing , the anxiety, the nervousness, but strangely she felt none... it was jus calm , what she felt. For a moment, she sat upright and looked around the room... slowly... wondering... if she was wierd , for she felt nothing, what her friends had told her about...

She was waiting , yet in a strange way, it wasnt a wait.. she couldnt explain it... but she struggled to give a name to what she felt at the moment...

The lilies on the table at the far end , caught her attention, and she stared at them absent mindedly...forgetting her confusion if she was normal for not feeling the anxiety... and she slowly drifted away into sleep on the sofa and with a few minutes, snuggled in the corner of the sofa, the cool breeze , making the window panes flap against the wall...

*****

He detested making people wait. It irked him immensely, to be the reason, for a wait. It was not supposed to irk him tonite, but yet it did. He had not decided the time, he had not arranged it, but he was the reason for the wait and it unsettled him.

Looking at his watch, he hoped the unsettling feeling would end, but it only made him more restless by the minute. Someone was waiting ... waiting... for him , and yet he was here , aware , but just here ... waiting as well.

The reason was not apparent, and yet it did not seem silly that he was indeed waiting , waiting for something, for someone...

He stared at the clock... that seemed to be ticking slower than it did usually, and irked him more with every clock tick.

After what seemed an endless wait, followed by a ritual, that he played through mechanically, he finally made his way towards the stairs that led to his world, that had changed .... his new world....

Walking down the corridor , that he had for several years, he found it strange, as the corridor seemed alien in a strange way now , leading him to a place, he seemed to be unaware of. A pang of anxiety hit him, as he slowed down... ruffling his fingers through his hair...

Blanking out suddenly, as to what he was to do, how was to react, he kept moving, as he moved closer... letting go of all thought at the moment...his steps getting quicker

Noticing the door, a few steps away, he slowed down, a sudden sense of calm filling him....

He stared at the door, with a strange sense of relief, of having found , what one was searching for. He wondered why , he felt so, and yet unable to comprehend why, he turned the knob and the door clicked open...

*****

She jerked awake , sitting upright on the sofa, taking in the surroundings as the reality sank in slowly...

Glancing at the clock, she noticed it had just been twenty minutes, since she had dozed away on the sofa. She turned to glance at the closed door not knowing what to expect, but nevertheless glanced at it , and just as quickly glancing at it, got up and walked over to window...

Noticing the lilies, she turned , and walked towards the table.

The sight of lilies had always made her happy, she smiled now, looking at them... caressing them lightly with her fingers...

It was like a pleasant surprise to see the lilies in the room, she felt so at home, seeing them, smiling ... she played with the flowers gently ,when with a quizzical look on her face, as though thinking about a thought that had strcuk her suddenly, she turned around, to look at the door, that was closed and as though, expecting the door to give her answers...

Pursing her lips in mock disappointment and lack of an answer , she turned to look at the flowers...

The cool breeze , blowing throw the window, made her smile... and she walked over slowly to the window, leaning against the window sill... feeling the cool window sill, with her fingers...as she stared out into the garden below, caressed by the moonlight...

She stood there , as the cool breeze swept across her face, a thin strand of hair caressing her cheek , feeling the cool breeze , with her eyes closed, when the door at the far end of the room, clicked open...

*****

The door clicked open. Pushing the door slightly he stepped in , holding onto the knob of the door gingerly...

It was then he noticed her, standing right ahead, facing the window, seemingly unaware of his presence, but he knew , she was aware of his presence. He couldnt explain it, but he knew...

Clad in a simple off white saree with light gold embellishments , hair tied up in a loose plait, a set of gold and white bangles studded with stones, shimmering in the dull light, as she placed her hand on the window sill, she stood there, calm, a thin strand of hair, caressing her cheek, lazily in the cool breeze.

She was there, he had seen her before, but yet , she seemed so different now, yet it seemed to calm him beyond words, to see her , standing there....She was waiting, waiting for him.... the feeling was inexplicable, but something that made him want for it to last for ever.....

She had been waiting for him, he wondered, as he looked at her, wondering, was she really waiting for him, the answer eluded him, why was she, yet deep down, he knew , she was ...and at the very moment, he realized in an inexplicable, he was too...

The answers could wait, it seemed, for as he stood there, watching her, all that mattered it seemed to him, was, she had been waiting... waiting for ... Him...

*****

She had heard the door click open ... the faint sound of his footsteps, as he stepped in...

Turning her head , just enough to be able to picture the faint silhoutte of the person standing at the door from the corner of her eye, she waited...

The mute walls of the room stood witness to the silent acknowledgements of the two souls... Witness they stood now, witness they were to be to the beginning of a journey of togetherness of kindred souls...

Playing her fingers on the window sill, she felt the chill in her fingers, that seemed to seep in, making her shiver...

Looking at her fingers on the window sill absent mindedly, she realized her heartbeat, that seemed to echo , in the silence of the room, and seemed to have been a tad bit faster that its usual...

Puzzled at why she was feeling so, she tried to calm herself, looking out of the window, the moon, desperately trying to distract her thoughts to something more routine, but all she felt a sudden lack of comprehension of what was to be done, seen , ... and felt...

Shifting her gaze from the moon shining bright, to the garden that seemed to bask in the moonlight below... she continued playing her fingers nervously on the window sill.. and sensing his gaze , she turned around slowly... her hand resting on the window sill... lifting gaze slowly towards the man, who seemed to wait for Her... and Her alone....

*****

Standing at doorstep, he had noticed her acknowledge his presence....as she turned her face ever so slightly....

It had caught his attention, the lone strand of hair that seemed to caress her cheek... there was a strange vulnerability to her face, that tugged at his heart...

It overwhelmed him, as he stood there, watching her, the silence, the room that had been his world, seemed a different world... yet it was still his world..... his world.... her world .... their world....

He looked at her , as she turned around to face him, and he watched her, the simplicity of the woman afore him, overwhelming him...

Watching her stand afore him, at the far end of the room, he noticed her lifting her gaze to look at him, as she turned around to face him.... the shimmer of the bangles on her hand , caught his eye, as she let her hand loose from the window sill, she had held...

He noticed , her mehendi adorned hand, the bangles shimmering in the warm glow of the room, as she held it nonchanlantly in front of her,... the shimmer of the bangles , bright , against the dull shine of the cream coloured saree....

His noetic senses succumbing to the voice of heart, he let go of all thought, a warm smile of acknowledgment spreading on his lips, as she lifted her gaze to see him smile at her...

With what seemed a momentary pause... she smiled back.... the warmth of emotion evident in the smile.... she acknowledged his presence, yet the smile conveyed , all that was to be... the unsaid... the unexpressed.... the wait... the longing...

Succumbing to the moment , it mattered no more, what he felt, for all that mattered , was he wanted it to last.... last a lifetime... last forever....as he watched her lower her gaze to her mehendi adorned hands... playing with the bangles...

*****

She had noticed him stand there, looking at her, as she tried to read his eyes, almost unconciously... when she noticed ... he was smiling... smiling... at her... she realized after a moment....

Transfixed , she had been , when she first noticed him standing at the door...

It was a warm, smile, a sort of a greeting , it seemed to her... and yet , it seemed to her, that he had smiled easily... with his eyes, with his heart....

It had seemed to calm her, almost instantly, seeing him smile... as she smiled back , giving into the feeling that made her feel light and free......

Free... she felt free... as smiled on... slowly lowering her gaze... as she wondered, trying to comprehend her feelings at the moment... of feeling immensely light, her heart felt light..... of feeling free....

The crimson horizon , the setting sun, birds flocking back home.. as they flew across the setting sun on the horizon... the vision emerged hazily afore her... as she stood gazing at her ... hands ... playing with her bangles... as she wondered... why the vision had emerged afore her...

It had always made her happy to watch the setting sun... watching the birds flock home... as the sun.... it had always calmed her , mermerized her... it was freedom she believed... she always had....

From the depths , that she was unaware of until the moment, it almost seemed clear, as the voice of her heart... echoed , that it was him, who reminded her of the most beautiful visions, she had cherished... and the lightheadedness of the moment , overwhelming her, she smiled lightly .... gazing at her bangles... as she felt... the sound of footsteps moving closer....

*****

He noticed her smile, as she stared at her hands and played with the bangles.

It seemed , a thought had amused her, and as he stood there watching her , watching her smile, an unconcious smile, as she enjoyed a thought, that he knew he didnt want to know, ever , for then it would never be her own... the thought that had been the reason for the smile, that lent a vulnerable , angelic look , to her face...

"Priceless..."... he thought as he watched her...

Letting go of the door knob, he walked over slowly towards her.... as the door closed behind him with a click , making her look up ...

Not once removing his gaze from her face, lest he miss out on the priceless expressions on her face, he walked over towards her , taking in the beauty of her face... as he walked on...

She had soft features , that rendered an innocent , warm glow to her face... her eyes , he noticed... were what one would call... unquestioning... he thought...to himself..."Innocent..."... , the red dot bwtween her thin eye brows, that rendered a warmth to her persona, that drew him towards her... the thin strand of hair, that caressed her had cheek... was now caressing her face, the cool breeze, swaying it across her eyes...

Caught by the movement over her eyes, she lifted her eyes, as he stared at the red dot , when he felt, what seemed like his heart miss a beat... , the thin strand of hair across her eyes, she gently lifitng her gaze, the sound of the bangles tingling against each other as she lifted her hand over to her face, her mehendi adorned fingers , holding the strand, as she moved it away from her face... a vision, that would stay forever, imprinted in his mind, a feeling , that would seep into his deepest being, to be etched into the deepest corners of his heart, setting it alive , ever so often... , it was to be, his first ever realization of what was beauty in its truest sense....

**************

She watched him approach her.... the warm smile, still lingered on his lips... as he walked towards her...

It was casual, the way he walked, yet it seemed to her, he was not rushing... and suddenly , despite herself, she seemed to be thankful... , thankful to him....

Caught in her thoughts, he noticed him coming over, when she noticed, that table, that he was walking towards, that lay in his path... when blurted out...her own voice seeming distant and strange to her ...."wo saamne..." bending over ever so slightly pointing to the table... when he seeming to have jerking out of trance , noticed her and quickly followed her gaze and noticed the table... and frowning a little, smiled and looked at her... as she too unable to escape the warmth in his smile, the lighthearted feeling filling her being, smiled...

Her voice had broken the silence... , it had jerked him out of his trance.... like a faint symphony... it was soft , jus as her features.... a soft , warm , voice, that seemed to have blended into the warm silence of the room...

Dodging the table , he walked over to her... and stood facing her , a few steps away... as she lifted her gaze to look up at him, noticing his feet approach her close...

He noticed her eyes, they seemed to mesmerize him... he stood , wondering, at the innocence of her eyes ... as a cool rush of air swept over his cheek , making him turn and glance at the window....

Following his gaze, she glanced at the window, and taking cue, she turned ever so slightly as her bangles tingled against eachother, causing him to turn to look at her, looking at the window...

Noticing her , looking at the window, he stepped towards the window, glancing sideways, at her , as she met his eye... and smiling , lowered her eyes, and walked in step...with him... towards the window...

***************

As they walked towards the window, he noticed how comfortable she seemed, so easy with herself , as she walked next to him, staring at the window... with occasional glances at her hands and perhaps his feet as he walked , when she lowered her gaze...

He smiled at the fact that she had looked at his feet... when he glanced at her ....amused he was , that she hadnt once looked up at him, but it seemed to him, that she didnt need to do so...he didnt feel the need either....

He could feel her presence... and in a seemingly inexplicable way, he knew , she felt too...it was surreal... "Feel the silence" ... the words drifted into this mind, as he walked on... the light tingle of her bangles , breaking through the silence... and he knew ,... he was indeed feeling the silence... the ecstasy ... of silence that binds two souls together...

It all starts with a glance... he had heard his mates tell him, but as he walked next to her , he knew , what he was experiencing was far from what he was expected to...a glance it was not , that had started it... a sense of deja vu ... it had been...

The experience had puzzled him, the first time , she had been around ... he had struggled to give the feeling a name... identify it, with something he had known, but yet... it was new..., it was elusive... it was exhilarating.... it was strong...

Deja Vu... the words had struck him, as he had read them , as he had rushed through the novel... and it was then... he knew.. it was what he had felt .... on that defining moment, that had changed his life...

Coming out of his thoughts suddenly, he slowly turned his gaze... towards her...

She seemed so different , from when he had met her last , but yet, it didnt seem so ... It puzzled him, the mixed emotions he felt, yet he knew , even as he struggled with his feelings at the moment, he wanted it no different than it was now...

This was how it was to be, and he was thankful, he wished it no other way....

She walked in silence , next to him, occasionally looking at the window and at her hands, when .....she noticed his hands... he had long slender fingers, they seemed so gentle yet so strong... he seemed at ease as he walked... she noticed, the sudden realization of empty hands coupled with anxiety missing in his demeanor at the moment... which quite puzzled her, as she let a smile escape her lips...

Walking next to him, she felt the strange of the sense of being close to one, that surpassed the physical realm ... a feeling... echoing ... the sense of not being alone....and as the feeling intensed , it puzzled her... as she wondered.... she had never been alone before... but he made it seem different now...of having been so... all along... a feeling of never being alone again...... it baffled her...as she hung on to the feeling of being with someone... the feeling of being there at the moment , calming her instantly... as she lifted her gaze ... to look at his palms...

************

Lifting her gaze from his palms, she looked up , to see him, looking at the window ahead... as she let herself drift away momentarily ..."Ye...".. she looked at him...."mere pati hai... "...." my husband..." she looked away at the window... and gazed at her hands..." meri zindagi........"... her thoughts drifted ... as she thought of the man next to her... would change her life... she watched him... the thoughts seeming distant... and detached...to her..."my life would revolve around him....".. the thought struck her.. as she wondered... how it was ever gonna change... her life... but the strange anxiety... filling her very being... she watched her hands... puzzled at her thoughts... that she was indeed looking forward to knowing ... how it was gonna change....

He had been a stranger... a name ... a mere name he had been to her... a stranger he had seemed a few hours ago... and even as she walked with him...."with him...".... the words struck her... as she thought to herself... she was walking with someone... not jus someone... she was walking with him.... she hadnt known him.... but yet... he seemed different now... strange... and yet she felt connected....

It couldnt be anyone else... it wasnt meant to be anyone else... but him.... she seemed to know it now... and puzzled at how she knew... it didnt matter... as to how... all the mattered...she knew... and it was indeed meant to be ... the way it was....

She hadnt known it a few days back.... but now as she walked ... she seemed .... in a surreal way ... sure ... of a life... that was meant to be ... her destiny... that held a promise ... a promise that seemed elusive... and yet ... had been made...

A promise... that would lead her through to her destiny.... her destiny.... his destiny ... their destiny....

*******

Walking towards the window, a step away from the window... he paused.. turning to look over at her... who was a step behind... staring afore outside the window... feeling the cool breeze... on her cheeks... a faint flicker of a smile lingering on the corner of her lips...

Watching her smile, unaware of his gaze, he let a smile escape his lips... as he turned around stare out of the window...taking a step forward to reach the window sill... with her following him in step... aware of him stepping towards the window... without even looking ... as she stared at her own feet... the deep color of mehendi.. on her feet ....appearing deeper in the glow of the chandelier above...

Looking out of the window... he placed his hand on the window sill, as he felt the chill of the wet window sill ....seep in through his palm... making him shiver... and feeling the cold , he turned on the spur unconciously towards her... the sight of her calm , soft features of her... sending a warm feel through his being... making him shiver all the more... that settled into a warm ... calming sense in his being....

Stepping in beside him... she looked down ... at the garden... seeming surreal in the soft moonlight .. the surreal scene leaving a smile on her lips... as a light dimple lurked on her cheek...... when sensing his gaze... and overcome by a urge , she turned slowly ... to face him... as he smiled at her...

He noticed the light dimple on her cheek...as she was watching the garden below...and he thought he felt ... a lightness in him... that was close to exhilarating... a lightness of being... that surpassed the realm of expression and thought... a lightness... a feel ... that would lurk in the depths of his being... from the moment... on....

He watched her... as he grappled with surreal lightness of being... he felt... as it intensified... leaving him... in a trance... as he surrended... drowning in the lightness of his very being...

Like a warmth of the winter sunshine... smell of the sun baked earth... soaking in the summer rain...like the surreal essence of completeness... she seemed to blend into his deeper being... as he watched her ... the light dimple... on her cheek... as he surrended to the overwhelming sense of completeness... watching her turn around to him... smiling...

********

Watching her smile, it seemed to him...the moment had frozen in time...his thoughts drifting away... to visions that had always calmed him... when a faint symphony broke the silence... jerking him back to reality...

Struggling to place the sudden interruption... he realized... it was a voice... her voice... and to his pleasant... surprise... that sent a dizzying euphoric shiver through him... he realized... she was watching him... talking to him... as flicker of puzzled amusement on her face... as he realized.. he must have had a even puzzled look on his own...

"... aapko... unke gaane pasand hai..."... she was asking him... about something.... about music ... he realized... as he replayed the phrase ... he had managed to comprehend.. trying to jerk out of his trance....

Quickly pulling himself together... embarassingly aware of his distracted attention... he dismissed the thought... for it seemed it didnt matter... nothing mattered no more... for all that mattered ... was being felt.. in the silence... unspoken wishes of their hearts... standing afore them... inviting them... onto a journey... of finding themselves... of their destiny.. of togetherness ... of companionship.....

"... Um...".. he looked at her... as she looking at him.... turned slowly.. back to the music system...when he realized... what she had intended...and struggling to recollect... whose name she had mentioned... he tried to smile.. when she repeated... in a soft voice...."Gulzar saab..."... she paused....as he waited for her to continue... not realizing he had held his breath..." aapko unke likhe.. gaaane pasand... hai..."... she ended ... when he felt.. he had sensed... a element of subtle surprise in her tone... surprised he wondered by his interest in music...

".. Uh.. yeah... I mean... haan... "... he repeated ... wondering why he did... amused ... that he was indeed fumbling for words... Was it her... he wondered... as a voice deep down in his being... whispered... indeed it was her... as he seemed to smile to himself... lowering his eyes for a moment...before he lifted his gaze to stare at the music system... and then back at her... as she ... taking cue... from his gaze... followed his gaze.. and stepped forward towards the music system... as he followed her....

*****

Turning around , she shifted her gaze from the garden to him... to see him smile at her....

His smile ... her thoughts drifted... it seemed calm... a calm smile.. she thought... amused at the thought... as she struggled to express her feelings at the moment..... the need to express the feeling to herself... seeming a sudden need to understand her own hazy feeling...

His smile , had a calming sense to it... she noticed... it was a slight smile... a lil twist of his lips... a lop sided curve of his lips... that she suddenly realized... seemed perfectly imperfect...

He seemed at the moment ... dazed... she thought... as she smiled... back at him... unable to hide her puzzlement at his dazed look...

He had seemed every bit the quintessential business tycoon.. during their first encounter.. and yet now as she stood there watching him... taking in the essence of his room... it seemed to her.. she was seeing a different person... strangely aware deep inside... that she was indeed... hopelessly... despite ... herself... finding herself in awe of the man... afore her...

Overcome by a flood of emotions... that left..her ... struggling to find clarity of thoughts... the sudden urge to hear his voice ... seeming stronger... she had blurted out... hesitatingly..."Aapko... Gulzaar saab ke gaane pasand hai...."...

Noticing the CDs in the stack next to the music system... signed with his name... she had noticed... there was a collection of Gulzaar Saab's albums... It had caught her by surprise... but had strangely pleased her.. to see the collection there...

He had begun to seem such a elusive persona... the elusive essence of his persona.. that seemed to reflect in every inch of his world... his room... as she had waited in the room... for him...

It was this elusive essence that had now...overwhelmed her as a sudden urge to hear his voice....to know him...

A shrewd business tycoon... with a gentle... perceptive... shade to his persona... the quintessential good looking man... with ...a subtle hint of the vulnerable essence of the boyish charm... reflecting in his face.... He seemed to her... like a character walking out of her favourite book... that she had so related to what she believed was an idealistic perception of a man... but had in the depths of her concious believed... idealistic personas did exist... and yet as she stood afore him... realizing he was indeed her idealistic dream personified... it surprised her beyond her imagination... to realize.. that her unspoken... dream to know and see an idealistic man... had indeed.... come ... true...

Controlling her urge to pinch herself to reality... she repeated what she had said... noticing ... his puzzled look... and overcome by an urge to know more about his taste in music... of wanting to know... him... the man... who was now beginning to seem.. a dream...an unspoken.. dream.. come true.... she had stepped forward towards the music system....aware of him.. following a step behind....as she smiled to herself... concious of her company... that made her heart smile....reflecting ... in the glow of her soft features...

********

A deeper longing of togetherness transceding time... shall lead the kindred souls... to seek ... their elusive destiny... surrending to the overwhelming feeling of completeness... as the destined souls.. shall whisper in divine silence.. "You Complete Me...."

Music , books, paintings, colors... a few of her favourite things... seemed now to reflect his favourite things too...a strange familiarity... a distant connection... .. a deeper bond... feeling the very essence... the silence ... that seemed strange no more... but like the familiar... beat of their hearts...

Voices echoed the musings of the heart.. as the strange anxiety faded into the silence ... smiles reflected the emotions of the heart... strung by the chords... of longing companionship...

It mattered no more... to wait ... the wait it seemed to them had ended... it seemed that it had never mattered... as they let themselves.. free... basking in the glory of the companionship of the other... deeply aware ... of their longing... of the wait... of the craving... to find their true self... in one another....

The clock ticked away in silence into dark hours of the night...... as the voices of the kindred souls.. broke into the silence of the room... like a symphonic harmony...

********

Sprawled on the carpet..with his legs crossed... leaning against the sofa... he watched her sitting beside him... a little further away... browsing through the contents of a cd cover... when he smiled... looking at her...

Resting her chin on her folded knees... holding the cd cover closer to her feet... she was browsing the contents.. the light shimmer of her bangles... seeming brighter in the glow

of the chandelier above... "Vulnerable...".. the word crossed his mind.. as he watched her...

He noticed..how calm she seemed... so at peace with herself... as the soft tune of ghazal.. played in the background... the thin strand of hair that hung carelessly over her forehead...lending the ever so vulnerable glow to her soft features. She seemed so naive and vulnerable... a sudden instinct... making him want to protect her...as he watched her... the sudden clarity of his thoughts... puzzling...him...

He knew .. now.. like never before... that he would never want to see the smile fade away from her face... the dimple disappear... he would give her his all... to see ...her unquestioning eyes... smile.. back at him... letting him drown in the depths of their innocence...

Still watching her... feeling the silence... he noticed her dimple.... realizing her voice had been jus as soft...she had spoken little... in the past few hours... but it seemed to she had said so much... there was a strange sense of connect he felt with her silence...that left no room for words... to convey heartfelt...

She had smiled... giggled... laughed... listened...felt.. .. she had connected... she had.... understood... him...

Surreal it seemed to him.... as he suddenly felt detached...sitting there... afore her. He was in company of a woman... who had been a stranger until a few hours ago.. who now seemed to mean... the world to him...

Inexplicable it seemed to him.... as he felt himself ... drawn to her... he was helpless... and he was beginning to enjoy the helplessness... of having to let himself... free... as she ... in her silence... set him .... free....

The urge to hear her soft voice... overwhelming him.... he spoke in a gentle yet deep voice....

"Uh... "... he began hesitatingly... when she lifted her face turning ever so slightly... lifting her gaze... to see him...when he felt a tingling sensation deeper inside him... "wo aankhen..." he thought... suddenly forgetting ... what he was to do....and almost collecting his thoughts... continued..."tumhe.. bhook lagi hai kya...".. he smiled... amazed how he had noticed what he had a moment back...

Puzzled... the look evident in her eyes..."Ji...?" she replied... the tone making her surprise evident....

Smiling mischevously... he replied..."Wo... you are fidgeting... "... he lowered his gaze to her fingers... urging her to look at them..." your fingers..."...as he looked back at her face... noticing her expression...watching her fingers... surprised that he had noticed her fidgeting... and looking back at him... glancing momentarily at him... tried to supress a smile.. and almost instantly broke into a smile... .. shutting her eyes in glee... the smile... deepening the dimple in her cheek... as she continued to giggle... at having been caught...at hiding her hunger...and jus as simply.. nodded in agreement...when giggling... he joined her...

Would appreciate criticism on the same , regarding the thought, the idea....

Wow... beautiful... loved the description of her smiling in the mirror at herself... could totally imagine Gauri in the scene... wonder if the footsteps she hears are of Shiv šŸ˜‰ ... anyways really looking forward to the next step... 😊

Sareeetaaaaaaaaaaa Dammitt!!!

I read the preview (feel so proud of myself for doing something that I should be doing all along šŸ˜•).. Okiez.. Criticism: Dude, kahan se le ker aaon?? U know I am a big, bigger and the biggest pankhi of urz.. When I read this one, my mind drifted immediately to the clip of Gauri sitting in that beautiful saree that Shiv had bought for her, putting the sindoor in her maang while Shiv thinking about uniting her with Shankz baby.. Dude.. Thing about fanfics is that they are generally figment of our imaginations with different themes in them.. Most of which are way far off from what could have happened in the show in reality.. But reading the preview, I dont know why but I felt a strange connection to the good ole golden days of KAA... I literally visualized the scene yaar.. I feel a craving now to go back and watch the older episodes.. Weekend it is 😳 😳 😳 ~

I hope this one can connect me with the real Shiv & Gauri as they were portrayed in the show with whom I fell in love with.. Looking forward to it šŸ‘ šŸ‘ šŸ‘ ~

Love, Sana~ (G'nite) 😳 ~

hurray hurray its a jolly jolly day. okay have u lost ur marbles ??? critisicm kyun aayega ?? i like gauri blushing. when i read it i seriously remembered highschool when i used to blush purple when i saw my crush standing across. okay may not be the same thing...shes blushing at the image of her being a married woman. loll....its no where close to wht i rem.

but do post soon...im awaiting the owner of the footsteps (hopefullly shiv).

Also....i love the title....song of dawn..signifies a new beginning...the first beams of sunlight at dawn are magical...they shimmer and actually appear to be singing a song with all other elments clubbing in.

The bangles... the simple act of playing with the bangles... Rings a bell in my heart...

Boss, you are "brilliant" as my lil speechless behna always says. The subtle things... given the detailed descriptions. Each word has its weight. Love the almost "naiive" if I can call it, innocence of Gauri awaiting... and "the footsteps"... the calm before the storm... my heart just skippped a beat~

šŸ‘šŸ‘

Cheers,

dc
