PART 3-

PART 3-

Recap:

"OHHH MMMYYYYYYYY GGGOOOOOOSH! YOU DID NOT JUST CALL ME A MAID!!!! WHAT THE FUDGE!"

"are you sure that's the naukrani, darling?" inquired Anita.

"uh.. bye honey! I'll talk to you later!"
********************************************************

As soon as he cut the phone and looked up, he knew for sure that if Gauri hadn't been wearing a dress with four inch heels he would have definitely have been chased around with a knife and this time be actually assassinated. Amazing isn't it? How I notice everything of hers like the shoes she's wearing? I'm such a darling! I take care of her so much! He grinned.

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GRINNING?" she asked through gritted teeth.

"Because you look jealous!" he said with such ease that she didn't know what she was going to with this donkey!

"YOU… YOU… YOU'RE JUST SOOO…"

"Yeah, yeah I know… I'm just so SEXY! And irresistible!" he grinned at the look of disbelief on her face.

"IMPOSSIBLE, IS WHAT YOU ARE!!! AND YOUR SO THE WORLD'S BIGGEST LUNGUR AND THE WORLD'S BIGGEST MONKEY, DONKEY, MONKEY-BREATH SMELLING, CROCODILE SKIN FEELING, AND PID SNORTING MONK-"

Before she could finish her words she was held by her waist and pinned to the wall behind her…

She looked back at him but he was to busy staring at her lips. She smelled like strawberry short cake, he laughed mentally. He dug his face into her neck and inhaled hoping she would engrave herself onto him. She loved the feeling of his nose on her bare neck. She wanted him to hold her in his arms just like this forever. She gracefully put her hands in his hair, scratching it making it a mess.

He abruptly backed off. He didn't even look her in the eye. He was so ashamed of himself. How could he have done something so dim-witted? He felt really stupid. He shouldn't have done that. He should have been capable of controlling himself. He felt like hitting himself on the head with a hammer. He realized she was hesitant at first, but then he made her weak and forced her to reciprocate. All he could manage to say at the moment was, " I'm sorry!"

She felt awkward but she noticed that in those few moments, she felt all her sorrows die and all she could think about his warm breathe against her neck. She didn't want to create a scene so she replied spontaneously, "It's Ok! But don't do it again!"

"C'mon, just admit it!" he said mischievously.

"ah.. wh… what a… are you talking ab… about?"

"Just admit it that you liked it."

"No….." She blushed while speaking. Anyone could even point it out from her voice. Oh god! She would rather have chosen death rather than letting him see or hear her blush. God! How much she hated blushing! Why did god create such a thing as blushing? And her blushing wasn't just smiling it was more like turning red like a tomato. Had she ever given clues of how she didn't like tomatoes? They're huge balls of red, and gushy and sour and just so simply eww… But getting back on topic, even a one day old baby could point out that she was blushing. Oh god!

Shiv's grin grew even wider seeing Gauri in this state. He knew he was filling and creating some more space in her heart somewhere in her heart of which she was oblivious about, but he was determined to make her conscious of that little space. He wondered, how? How was he going to get this stubborn littler girl to realize this complicated and wired emotion?

"Ok! Ok! I'm going to be waiting for you outside, so you better hurry up."

She nodded and he turned around to leave. She started blushing like crazy as she was just thinking of what had just happened. She hit her hand on her forehead, when she heard him speak, "You know, you look so adorable when your blushing." She wanted to go up to him and strangle him to death for saying that. As soon as she gets herself under control, he has to come to make her weak and see her blush again unexpectedly and uncontrollable. Ugh… Save me lord! Why did you have to create this type of reaction? Oh my God! And he does this all on purpose too! God, he's annoying!

He loved seeing her blush for two reasons: #1 She looked so cute, just like a sixteen year old who go her first kiss and #2 It was because of him that she was blushing… He loved seeing her trying to become all serious but she'd always break into another smile, actually to be more specific a giggle, a very blushing kind-of giggle.

The ride to the disco was pretty much silent and not very interesting except for the secretive sneaks and peaks that she stole on him, at least she tried. She was quite unsuccessful at it as Shiv was pretty much staring at her for ninety percent of the time threw the mirror outside his window.

Shiv stepped out of the car and walked around the car to open Gauri's hand. He put his hand forward so that Gauri could grab it and she did. She linked her arm in his which definitely surprised him a lot. She looked up at him and grinned at his astonished face. She raised herself on her toes, pulled his face down and kissed him on the cheeks. He said, "Thanks…"

"No trust me… I should be the one saying Thanks!" replied Gauri. He gave her a quizzical look but shrugged it off as she dragged him inside.

There was only one thing going on in Gauri… I have to move on, if not for myself then for my parents. They've been so worried about me. I'm definitely going to try.

As soon as they stepped inside, Shiv looked down to her. A sweet, romantic song was playing in the background. Before he could ask her for a dance as she was in such a sweet mood, Josh came up to them. IDIOT! Couldn't he see what I was going to do! The world's biggest duffus!

"So what's up guys?"

"Josh! You're the biggest idiot I've ever seen! How can you make plans to go to London when I've come here to meet you after so long?" She diverted her eyes to the dance floor, frowning.

"I'm sorry Jaan!"

Shiv gave Josh a mean look which made him realize his mistake.

The rest of the evening went pretty well. All three of them had a great time and the hatred between them had waned out, at least for the evening. They all had fun and danced the night away. They reached home pretty late and went to sleep as soon as they hit bed as they were so tired.

Unlike most mornings, she was awake before him. It was 5:15 am. She was surprised. She wasn't ever one the early risers. Josh left the house early in the morning as his flight was early in the morning. Today, unlike every day was very good. For once in months she hadn't gotten up with an uncontrollable, head pounding headache. She liked the change though, who wouldn't?

After locating the hair-tie from her left wrist, she tied her hair in high pony and got out of bed. She stretched as if she was preparing to go take a run. Wow! It had been long since she'd gone for a run. She missed her high school years when she was on the track team. She wasn't alone, she had along with her other friend who she considered to be her best friend. Damn it! What was his name? She grabbed her track suit from her closet, changed into it in two minutes and headed out the door with her running shoes in her hands.

Around eleven thirty his eyes finally opened. He groaned in despair as he couldn't stand the sunlight gleaming into his eyes so merrily. He flung his eyes open the instant he remembered Gauri! Shit she's probably out of bed and I just hope she's not up to anything now!

He ran to her room and barged in. he didn't find her in there. Shit! He headed towards the kitchen; no one was in there either. Damn it! He checked her bathroom too, but luck wasn't taking his side at the moment. He was heading out the door when he crashed into something or was it someone?

There stood a girl in front of him. He'd never seen her before…
"Who are you?" he yelled out in frustration since she was just staring at him.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that? You don't own this place do you? Anyways, I'm Josh's fiance."

"Oh… sorry about that." She was eyeing him suspiciously. "Oh, um… I'm Shiv, josh's friend."

"Shiv… Shiv! I don't believe you!" She reached closer to him and patted his cheek. He was looking at her confused. "Don't tell me! You don't remember me? BUDDHU!"

"Mishti… wow! It's been so long since I've heard buddhu from your mouth."

He hugged her.

She asked, "So what are you doing here all of a sudden."

They sat down and he told her everything… everything means everything even about how he's trying to make Gauri fall in love with him.

"So… where's Josh?"

"Josh has gone to London for some "meeting" it's not really a meeting, it's just an excuse so that I can come to Gauri." She gave him a knowing look and smiled.

She breathed in and out, deeply. She was standing on a bridge above the river when her eyes spilled the tears she was trying to hold back. She couldn't keep all this within her. She couldn't. She needed someone by her side to hug her, comfort her and not ask her questions or overload her with advices. Just then she felt a tap on her shoulder.

She quickly wiped her tears and turned around. There stood Shiv with a frown on his face. She noticed he was huffing quite horribly and she knew for a fact that she was in trouble. The only difference was that she thought she would be yelled at for leaving but the reality was something way different. She waited for some taunting words, but they didn't come.

She looked up and saw that Shiv was scrutinizing her very closely. She knew this wasn't a good sign. To change the topic she said, "Oh… um… I'm sorry, Shiv. I just needed to go for a run and you were asleep and I thought I'd be there before you woke up but I don't know what happened. I'm really sorry." He still kept scrutinizing her so closely without saying a word. This got her really mad.

What the hell is his problem? Idiot! Why is he looking at me like that? Oh, God! What should I do now? "SHIV! Let's go home; I'm really hungry! Dumb butt, are you listening to me?" When this also didn't get her a response, she stomped on his foot so hard that she almost gave him a fracture.

"GAURI! I'm going to kill you!" She smirked watching him grab his foot screaming "AAAOOWWW…" She walked towards the parking lot thinking thank god, he's got a distraction.

Shiv noticed how Gauri was feeling but was quite surprised. He knew Josh was hiding something from him but he wondered what? He didn't want to bother Gauri right now because she was in no state to be questioned at the moment. She found the car and sat in the back seat because she didn't want Shiv staring at her again.

She didn't like being under his gaze because she felt like he could read her mind which really disturbed her. She often wished she had that ability too, but unfortunately she didn't. She can't allow anyone to know how she is feeling… She has to cover up all her grief and plaster her face with a huge smile all the time. But for how long is she going to be successful until she breaks down. She can't make her parents go through so much misery. She knows that her parents know that she's feeling bad and they're even sadder because she's too stubborn to not let them know why. She was tired of being this person now. She knows exactly what she needs to do, but how? How is she going to do that with her parents refusing to let her go and now they've thrown upon her another burden with the name of SHIV! Stupid, idiot! She can't even runaway any where with him tailing around her everywhere. And even if she was to runaway, where was she going to go? If she asked Josh for help then he for sure would make her shut up and himself would lock her in his room… how was she going to get away from all this so she doesn't have to put on an act for everyone. It took her seven months to only convince her parents to move out of the house and with the deal of moving somewhere near them. She gave an excuse of growing up and learning to face the world independently. Still, that sure did take a lot of effort. Her parents were so protective of her. Ugh… she liked it at times but then she also hated at times like now.

She heard a door slam loudly bringing her out of her thoughts. She looked at the driver seat to find Shiv trying to buckle his seat belt grumbling under his breath. Ugh… now why the hell is he grumbling? Shouldn't I be grumbling, he probably had a huge breakfast… and me, I haven't eaten for let's see… 12 hours!!! The stupid idiot's driving so slow! Ughh… "Shiv! Stop the car, NOW!!!!" He immediately hit the breaks and turned around with a worried look worn on his face. "wha-"

Before he could even complete what he was saying, Gauri opened the door, ran between the traffic on the main road and crossed the street…

😕😆Sorry i kind of messed up before, but now everythings set right. ThanQ all who left me comments. <33

Part 4:

Shiv was shocked, but he soon recovered and ran behind her. As soon as he crossed the street, he noticed Gauri on ground holding her foot which he noticed was bleeding. He ran towards her knelt down beside her. "GAURI! Have you gone mad? I mean, what was that and what is this?" She started sobbing. Everyone around them was just walking past them without even looking back at them a second time. Shiv picked Gauri up in his arms and carried her to his car. He put her in the back seat and put the car in ignition.

"Shiv… I'm really sorry… I was just really hungry…" He looked back at her and nodded telling her that he accepted her apology. "Do you mind getting me ice-cream?" she asked in between her sobs. A flow of pity and sorry rushed over him as he looked at the overwhelming look in her eyes. He smiled and asked which flavor she wanted, "Umm… just get me a Brownie Earthquake with extra, extra fudge and yeah don't forget the cherry on top." Shiv grinned at the request of her ice-cream as that was his favorite, as well. "I'll be right, back."

He was back in a jiffy. He opened the back seat and handed her a brown paper bag and strictly instructed her to not open it and she frowned but still nodded. He kept glancing through his rear-view mirror to see how she was doing. She looked so cute while blowing the wound on her foot. As soon as they reached home, Shiv grabbed the bag in one hand and then picked Gauri up in his arms taking her inside. She looked at his face and felt really guilty for making the poor guy go through so much trouble. She smiled at his cute, determined expression on his face. she leaned forward and kissed his cheek, once again surprising him. Jeez! Help me, Lord? She's definitely going to send me to the emergency room with all these heart attacks of hers. He smiled a naughty smile and raised his brows giving her a I-know-I'm-so-irresistable look? She laughed, "No… I just wanted to say thanks, thanks for everything."

"You're welcome."

After fifteen minutes which was passed by Gauri screaming at the burning scar which he was trying to clean and put a bandage on, they started digging into their ice-creams while watching Tom and Jerry…

********

The next day Gauri had was acting pretty strange at least according to Shiv. She was being extremely polite and smiling all the while which was definitely weird because he was just use to her glare, rude actions and the amusing use of adjectives against him. He knew something was definitely up and finally decided to call Josh that night. He picked up the phone and dialed his cell phone number.

"Hello…"

"Hey Josh. It's me, Shiv."

"Hi, Shiv. I know exactly why you're calling."

Shiv was puzzled, "You do?"

"Yup! You just want to know why she's having so many mood swings like sometimes she's really mean and then the next moment she's a doll?"

"Um… yeah, but how'd you know?"

"That's not important for now… Gauri had a past… Gauri… Prithvi… attachment…Sheetal… truth… heartbroken… proposal… rejection… another proposal… agreement… love… devastation… moving-out… loneliness… self-pressure… success with failure at the same time… frustration… pain… isolation…" Josh told Gauri's whole story because he knew it was important for Shiv to know. He also reminded Shiv about one fact which even Gauri was unaware was. She was never really in love with Prithvi; she was just really attached. Shiv was quite surprised. He was really confused about all this. Why was she acting so depressed if it wasn't love? It couldn't just be attachment… there was definitely something else that even Josh doesn't know… but what is it? He made that his new mission to accomplish. He knew it would be hard but not impossible.

She lay on her bed with her face buried in her pillow. Silent tears spilling out of her eyes but barely surviving for a few seconds as they were quickly absorbed by the cotton pillow cover. Shiv opened her door without knocking, as usual. Gauri was pretty use to it by now but it still infuriated her. "What is it, Shiv?" she asked not even bothering to pick her head up and looking at him. She was really not in the mood of faking her happiness. There was no response. "Do you need anything, Shiv?" she tried again. Getting frustrated she lifted her face to look up at Shiv and was just about to scream when she told her self 'calm down, Gauri… you're not going to loose your temper. You've been as mean as you could before so don't mess things up now.' "Yes, Shiv."

He saw the flow of emotions rushing on her face; first frustration, then anger and then total determination. "So how's your foot now? You feeling any better?" he said while sitting next to her on her bed. She looked at him and smiled with her eyes twinkling even though they showed the sorrow some where even though it was hidden in some corner almost buried under a hundred feet of painful tears. He wandered off guessing on what could have happened to make her so… so… so… That's when he figured he didn't know how she felt. He had no clue of what exactly she was going through.

"Yeah. Now, I'm feeling much better. Now I can actually walk." She smiled because she meant the now for since he came. He didn't know that and she was sort of thankful for that but still at the same time disappointed. Disappointed? Why?

She liked being with him. She didn't know why but she did. Whenever he'd be near her it would feel like someone just turned her happy button on. She knew this was a bad sign. She wasn't supposed to get too close to him. There was another reason too. When she found out about it she was terrified; A new desire rose within herself but she kept telling herself if she did what she wanted to do then she would be deceiving her parents. Which parents? NO! DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT AGAIN. SHE FELT LIKE HITTING HERSELF UPSIDE HER HEAD FOR SAYING THAT.

"ok, then. I just came to check on you."

"Shiv…" she began as soon as he got up. He raised an eyebrow. He looked so handsome, she noticed, even in track pants and a white-tee. She noticed his bulgy muscles again. It had a tattoo on it, a snake swirled around a mighty-looking sword. She thought it looked pretty sweet, except for the fact that she hated snakes. Hate probably wouldn't do enough justice expressing her feelings against snakes.

He noticed her checking him out and smiled. "If you're done checking me out… you can tell me what you were going to say." He smirked.

Shit! This makes it even harder for her to say what she was going to say. "Umm… Shiv… you know that business party I have to go to tonight, well… I need a partner to go with me… so as I don't know anyone here, do you umm… want to go with me?" He was grinning like crazy making her go completely ballistic, WITHIN. God! What is his problem? He knows how hard this is for me to say and he knows I'm so uncomfortable then also he can't keep his pointless smiles to himself!!! Argh… he can do anything just to make me uncomfortable. Oh… how much I hate him at least when he does these kinds of things.

"You're asking me to be your date, aren't you?"

"Wrong, I'm asking you to be my escort." He frowned, nodded and then exited the room without another word. Why did he frown? Does he really want to be my date? Why would he? I'm so pathetic; I'm actually thinking he would want to date me? She wasn't the kind to date a lot of people. She told everyone she didn't really have time for that, which was a lie to cover up the truth. The truth was that she was scared; scared of letting the world find out who she was within those hard covers. She'd been used before. She's been made fun of before. She was always the gullible type. She was always the week one who anyone could make miserable and that too easily. After a few heartbreaks, not only from the ones she fancied but also the ones she respected, looked up to and the worst experience was with the ones she trusted. She hated being that person. She USE to be that person and she vowed to herself… never again was she going to be that person again.

The evening came by quickly. She was so tensed about the whole issue. She didn't want to get too close to him. She told herself to keep at least a five inch gap.

Shiv thought she looked incredulously stunning in ivory dress which complimented her skin so perfectly. He couldn't believe that someone could look so perfect, ever before. But he knew for he wasn't a fool that no one was perfect and he knew that he would have to deal with her imperfections which was mainly her temper but he would gladly bare it if he could feel her in his arms and if he can hold those feathery soft hands of her in his hands forever and even after forever.

She felt those envious eyes boring into her as she entered the hall with her arms entwined in his. She wanted to let go of his hold and walk straight out the door which she had entered just a few seconds before.

Shiv could feel her grip getting looser and looser. He looked at her who was too busy looking at the people around her staring as if they were going to pounce on her. He knew she was feeling uncomfortable. He let her take her hands out but the next minute she felt his hands fall down to her waist and hold her tightly and possessively. She raised her eyebrows at him and he just winked one of his world famous winks which made her insides flutter but she dare not let him detect that. She flashed an equally heart fluttering smile to him with mischief in her eyes.

He felt a tap on his shoulder so turned around with an equally, if not more, Gauri right beside him. She felt him being snatched away from her as she saw an evil, witch looking woman push her off and hung Shiv as if he were on his death bed and was just going to die. "Oh, Shiv. I missed you so much. Where've you been lately? I've not heard from you for a whole, long week." A week? Wow! This girl can definitely pass as desperate. Seriously! Wow, you didn't see him for a week what an accomplishment right? Wait, hold up. A week? He's been working for me for almost a month and a half then how come a week? Argh… why does he have to hide his ten million girl friends from me? Oh, how much I hate these pretenders! By the way, why do I care if he has ten million girlfriends or ten million wives? Why do I care? Because he's employed by me and surrounds me 24/7 and I can't live with a player like him, I attempted to convince myself. He can go jump off a cliff for all I care!

He noticed the murderous look in her eyes and thought this was his golden opportunity. He didn't have to tell her that she was his cousin, Epshita, at least for now, now did he? He grinned like a naughty monkey.

Argh… Those grins of his, so mysterious and it can have so many meanings to it, so many hidden truths in them. Oh, how much she hated them. She looked down. "Would you like to have a dance?" Thinking he asked her she blushed mildly and looked up to see him leaving her and going with her to dance. Argh… she felt like pulling all the stands of hair on her head off, on second thought, why should I pull my hair off. I should want to pull all his hair off! The bloody all-most Takloo! Ok, fine! He's far from takloo, his head is full with the thick brown bushy head. Ha! The bush head! Now, I can add that to my adjective dictionary book.

She walked up to a handsome man in a black stiff suit. Definitely not her style but still who cares? It's just a dance. "Do you want to dance?" "Sure…"

He grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor right beside Shiv. She could see Shiv staring at the guy dancing with her. He smirked again, surprising her.

He walked up to them and said, "Can I?" The guy smiled and left giving her a smile. He jerked her tightly towards her. She could feel his warm breathe on her ear. "Do you even know the guy's name?" Bingo! Mission accomplished. She smiled; he was jealous and she just knew it. They danced until it struck mid night. He never let go of her side the whole night and she loved it that way but of course she was never going to admit it!
They were sitting in the car in the company of silence until a loud, stretched out growl was heard. Gauri looked at Shiv from the corner of her eyes and then raised them while pressing her lips together to hide her smile. He was so cute and hungry! Unable to control it anymore she cracked and so did Shiv. There they sat laughing and laughing at something so pointless. The crazy chimpanzees.

"Hey, Hey! Look! There's a Dairy Queen. Stop, Stop! Stop! NO, I didn't say speed, I said STOP!"

"Relax woman!"

Each grabbed their doubled and tripled and quadrupled ice creams and sat down on the bench outside the small shop. He looked at her like the ice-cream insatiably. This way they discovered their new pass time; that is eating ice-cream and sneaking glances at one another and making fun of each other if they have some ice cream stuck on their noses.

Sorry for the delay, you guys... I'll post another part tomorrow. Please keep reading. <3 Pooja
