PART 3-
Recap:
"OHHH MMMYYYYYYYY GGGOOOOOOSH! YOU DID NOT JUST CALL ME A MAID!!!! WHAT THE FUDGE!"
"are you sure that's the naukrani, darling?" inquired Anita.
"uh.. bye honey! I'll talk to you later!"
********************************************************
As soon as he cut the phone and looked up, he knew for sure that if Gauri hadn't been wearing a dress with four inch heels he would have definitely have been chased around with a knife and this time be actually assassinated. Amazing isn't it? How I notice everything of hers like the shoes she's wearing? I'm such a darling! I take care of her so much! He grinned.
"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GRINNING?" she asked through gritted teeth.
"Because you look jealous!" he said with such ease that she didn't know what she was going to with this donkey!
"YOU… YOU… YOU'RE JUST SOOO…"
"Yeah, yeah I know… I'm just so SEXY! And irresistible!" he grinned at the look of disbelief on her face.
"IMPOSSIBLE, IS WHAT YOU ARE!!! AND YOUR SO THE WORLD'S BIGGEST LUNGUR AND THE WORLD'S BIGGEST MONKEY, DONKEY, MONKEY-BREATH SMELLING, CROCODILE SKIN FEELING, AND PID SNORTING MONK-"
Before she could finish her words she was held by her waist and pinned to the wall behind her…
She looked back at him but he was to busy staring at her lips. She smelled like strawberry short cake, he laughed mentally. He dug his face into her neck and inhaled hoping she would engrave herself onto him. She loved the feeling of his nose on her bare neck. She wanted him to hold her in his arms just like this forever. She gracefully put her hands in his hair, scratching it making it a mess.
He abruptly backed off. He didn't even look her in the eye. He was so ashamed of himself. How could he have done something so dim-witted? He felt really stupid. He shouldn't have done that. He should have been capable of controlling himself. He felt like hitting himself on the head with a hammer. He realized she was hesitant at first, but then he made her weak and forced her to reciprocate. All he could manage to say at the moment was, " I'm sorry!"
She felt awkward but she noticed that in those few moments, she felt all her sorrows die and all she could think about his warm breathe against her neck. She didn't want to create a scene so she replied spontaneously, "It's Ok! But don't do it again!"
"C'mon, just admit it!" he said mischievously.
"ah.. wh… what a… are you talking ab… about?"
"Just admit it that you liked it."
"No….." She blushed while speaking. Anyone could even point it out from her voice. Oh god! She would rather have chosen death rather than letting him see or hear her blush. God! How much she hated blushing! Why did god create such a thing as blushing? And her blushing wasn't just smiling it was more like turning red like a tomato. Had she ever given clues of how she didn't like tomatoes? They're huge balls of red, and gushy and sour and just so simply eww… But getting back on topic, even a one day old baby could point out that she was blushing. Oh god!
Shiv's grin grew even wider seeing Gauri in this state. He knew he was filling and creating some more space in her heart somewhere in her heart of which she was oblivious about, but he was determined to make her conscious of that little space. He wondered, how? How was he going to get this stubborn littler girl to realize this complicated and wired emotion?
"Ok! Ok! I'm going to be waiting for you outside, so you better hurry up."
She nodded and he turned around to leave. She started blushing like crazy as she was just thinking of what had just happened. She hit her hand on her forehead, when she heard him speak, "You know, you look so adorable when your blushing." She wanted to go up to him and strangle him to death for saying that. As soon as she gets herself under control, he has to come to make her weak and see her blush again unexpectedly and uncontrollable. Ugh… Save me lord! Why did you have to create this type of reaction? Oh my God! And he does this all on purpose too! God, he's annoying!
He loved seeing her blush for two reasons: #1 She looked so cute, just like a sixteen year old who go her first kiss and #2 It was because of him that she was blushing… He loved seeing her trying to become all serious but she'd always break into another smile, actually to be more specific a giggle, a very blushing kind-of giggle.
The ride to the disco was pretty much silent and not very interesting except for the secretive sneaks and peaks that she stole on him, at least she tried. She was quite unsuccessful at it as Shiv was pretty much staring at her for ninety percent of the time threw the mirror outside his window.
Shiv stepped out of the car and walked around the car to open Gauri's hand. He put his hand forward so that Gauri could grab it and she did. She linked her arm in his which definitely surprised him a lot. She looked up at him and grinned at his astonished face. She raised herself on her toes, pulled his face down and kissed him on the cheeks. He said, "Thanks…"
"No trust me… I should be the one saying Thanks!" replied Gauri. He gave her a quizzical look but shrugged it off as she dragged him inside.
There was only one thing going on in Gauri… I have to move on, if not for myself then for my parents. They've been so worried about me. I'm definitely going to try.
As soon as they stepped inside, Shiv looked down to her. A sweet, romantic song was playing in the background. Before he could ask her for a dance as she was in such a sweet mood, Josh came up to them. IDIOT! Couldn't he see what I was going to do! The world's biggest duffus!
"So what's up guys?"
"Josh! You're the biggest idiot I've ever seen! How can you make plans to go to London when I've come here to meet you after so long?" She diverted her eyes to the dance floor, frowning.
"I'm sorry Jaan!"
Shiv gave Josh a mean look which made him realize his mistake.
The rest of the evening went pretty well. All three of them had a great time and the hatred between them had waned out, at least for the evening. They all had fun and danced the night away. They reached home pretty late and went to sleep as soon as they hit bed as they were so tired.
Unlike most mornings, she was awake before him. It was 5:15 am. She was surprised. She wasn't ever one the early risers. Josh left the house early in the morning as his flight was early in the morning. Today, unlike every day was very good. For once in months she hadn't gotten up with an uncontrollable, head pounding headache. She liked the change though, who wouldn't?
After locating the hair-tie from her left wrist, she tied her hair in high pony and got out of bed. She stretched as if she was preparing to go take a run. Wow! It had been long since she'd gone for a run. She missed her high school years when she was on the track team. She wasn't alone, she had along with her other friend who she considered to be her best friend. Damn it! What was his name? She grabbed her track suit from her closet, changed into it in two minutes and headed out the door with her running shoes in her hands.
Around eleven thirty his eyes finally opened. He groaned in despair as he couldn't stand the sunlight gleaming into his eyes so merrily. He flung his eyes open the instant he remembered Gauri! Shit she's probably out of bed and I just hope she's not up to anything now!
He ran to her room and barged in. he didn't find her in there. Shit! He headed towards the kitchen; no one was in there either. Damn it! He checked her bathroom too, but luck wasn't taking his side at the moment. He was heading out the door when he crashed into something or was it someone?
There stood a girl in front of him. He'd never seen her before…
"Who are you?" he yelled out in frustration since she was just staring at him.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? You don't own this place do you? Anyways, I'm Josh's fiance."
"Oh… sorry about that." She was eyeing him suspiciously. "Oh, um… I'm Shiv, josh's friend."
"Shiv… Shiv! I don't believe you!" She reached closer to him and patted his cheek. He was looking at her confused. "Don't tell me! You don't remember me? BUDDHU!"
"Mishti… wow! It's been so long since I've heard buddhu from your mouth."
He hugged her.
She asked, "So what are you doing here all of a sudden."
They sat down and he told her everything… everything means everything even about how he's trying to make Gauri fall in love with him.
"So… where's Josh?"
"Josh has gone to London for some "meeting" it's not really a meeting, it's just an excuse so that I can come to Gauri." She gave him a knowing look and smiled.
She breathed in and out, deeply. She was standing on a bridge above the river when her eyes spilled the tears she was trying to hold back. She couldn't keep all this within her. She couldn't. She needed someone by her side to hug her, comfort her and not ask her questions or overload her with advices. Just then she felt a tap on her shoulder.
She quickly wiped her tears and turned around. There stood Shiv with a frown on his face. She noticed he was huffing quite horribly and she knew for a fact that she was in trouble. The only difference was that she thought she would be yelled at for leaving but the reality was something way different. She waited for some taunting words, but they didn't come.
She looked up and saw that Shiv was scrutinizing her very closely. She knew this wasn't a good sign. To change the topic she said, "Oh… um… I'm sorry, Shiv. I just needed to go for a run and you were asleep and I thought I'd be there before you woke up but I don't know what happened. I'm really sorry." He still kept scrutinizing her so closely without saying a word. This got her really mad.
What the hell is his problem? Idiot! Why is he looking at me like that? Oh, God! What should I do now? "SHIV! Let's go home; I'm really hungry! Dumb butt, are you listening to me?" When this also didn't get her a response, she stomped on his foot so hard that she almost gave him a fracture.
"GAURI! I'm going to kill you!" She smirked watching him grab his foot screaming "AAAOOWWW…" She walked towards the parking lot thinking thank god, he's got a distraction.
Shiv noticed how Gauri was feeling but was quite surprised. He knew Josh was hiding something from him but he wondered what? He didn't want to bother Gauri right now because she was in no state to be questioned at the moment. She found the car and sat in the back seat because she didn't want Shiv staring at her again.
She didn't like being under his gaze because she felt like he could read her mind which really disturbed her. She often wished she had that ability too, but unfortunately she didn't. She can't allow anyone to know how she is feeling… She has to cover up all her grief and plaster her face with a huge smile all the time. But for how long is she going to be successful until she breaks down. She can't make her parents go through so much misery. She knows that her parents know that she's feeling bad and they're even sadder because she's too stubborn to not let them know why. She was tired of being this person now. She knows exactly what she needs to do, but how? How is she going to do that with her parents refusing to let her go and now they've thrown upon her another burden with the name of SHIV! Stupid, idiot! She can't even runaway any where with him tailing around her everywhere. And even if she was to runaway, where was she going to go? If she asked Josh for help then he for sure would make her shut up and himself would lock her in his room… how was she going to get away from all this so she doesn't have to put on an act for everyone. It took her seven months to only convince her parents to move out of the house and with the deal of moving somewhere near them. She gave an excuse of growing up and learning to face the world independently. Still, that sure did take a lot of effort. Her parents were so protective of her. Ugh… she liked it at times but then she also hated at times like now.
She heard a door slam loudly bringing her out of her thoughts. She looked at the driver seat to find Shiv trying to buckle his seat belt grumbling under his breath. Ugh… now why the hell is he grumbling? Shouldn't I be grumbling, he probably had a huge breakfast… and me, I haven't eaten for let's see… 12 hours!!! The stupid idiot's driving so slow! Ughh… "Shiv! Stop the car, NOW!!!!" He immediately hit the breaks and turned around with a worried look worn on his face. "wha-"
Before he could even complete what he was saying, Gauri opened the door, ran between the traffic on the main road and crossed the street…
