Shiv, The Rock...
Normally dependable and strong like a rock whose life is presently rocked by the reappearance of old love, Ips. Now, he's going to rock the boat by have a rocking time with her while at the same time falling like a ton of rocks on his hapless Gauri...so that, soon his marriage will be on the rocks. His life then, will hit rock- bottom and so will the TRP's. All this means, we the viewers will soon be throwing verbal rocks at him, the show, the creatives and most definitely at Ekta.
Nikhila, The Hard Place...
Normally hard and always out of place. Easily puts others in their place (eg: Shahank, Maya & Gauri). She's hard to bear, hard to please and hard-hearted and gives Gauri and others a hard time. She can't accept hard facts (eg: Shiv n Gauri are now married for 5 yrs and have 3 kids, that Ips is married to Anupam who may or may not be in good shape). But she will always rain hard on their parade as she believes only in hard cash. But this hardliner will be place-kicked (a football term) by her hard-done-by grandchildren who'll put her through such hardships that she'll be hard put to even remember her name and find a place in the family tree!
