Surprised and shocked she turned to look at him as he stared at the road ahead.
"You never gave me a chance to explain that it was all over between Ipshita and me. I could not understand that what we shared in Europe did not mean anything to you. When I was in the coma you kept me alive or what I felt for you did. Other words I would have been dead. No more Shiv Kapoor! And you would have been free from this rishta" he said stopping the car looking at her…….

Part 74
He woke up and found himself alone in the room, he quickly got up and walked into the bathroom and she was not there either. He looked over at the clock and it was 8am where could she have gone he thought running down the stairs. He called out for her and there was no answer as he searched the haveli. She left me again he thought as he slowly walked up the stairs heart broken. "Shiv" He turned to face her as she walked into the house holding the aarti tali. He ran down the stairs and took hold of her tightly "Don't ever do that to me again I thought you had left me!" he said tearfully.
"You were asleep and I didn't want to wake you so I went to the mandir," she said surprise by his concern. He let go off her and looked at her as she placed the offering in his mouth.
"Why don't you get changed and I will make breakfast," she said placing the tali on the table.
"You know I can't do anything without you," he moaned as he led her upstairs.
He looked at her as a big smile spread across her face as they walked into the bedroom.
"It's Sunday so no office let go and see Baba," he said taking his clothes from her.
"Why don't you call them and we can go later this afternoon," he added handing her the phone…..
"Baba I want to ask you for something, will you give it to me?" he asked looking over at him.
Alok looked at him curiously and then looked at Gauri who never looked so happy in such a long time and smiled as he looked over at him.
"I want Kaaya's hand in marriage to Vivaan," he said firmly looking at him.
Surprised and shocked they all stared at him as he looked over at Kaaya who blushed and lowered her head. Gauri looked at Shiv surprisingly and then looked over at Kaaya as she left the room.
"Please say yes!…They both love each other and I can ensure you that she will be very happy with Vivaan," he added.
Alok looked at him and then looked over at his family. "I don't know what to say?" he answered.
"Ok may be I should get dada and dadi to ask for this rishta," he said getting up.
Gauri looked at him curiously as he looked at his watch and walked over towards the front door. He opened the door and there stood Dadi, Dada, Shaayla and Vivaan, everyone got up to greet them and Gauri just stared at Shiv smiling.
"Congratulation!" he said walking into Kaaya's bedroom.
Kaaya and Gauri looked at him as he approached them.
"This evening is your engagement!" he announced.
"But Shiv nothing have been organised…..
She turned to see Shaaya walked into the room with gifts.
"Gauri….I can't believe Shiv never told you he has arranged everything at the Haveli for this evening. I have just came to see Kaaya and to give her the clothes to wear this evening," she placed the gifts on the bed she went over to Kaaya and blessed her.
"If it was not for Shiv I don't' think this wedding will have happened so fast," she added
"Wedding?"
Shiv walked over to Gauri and placed his arm around her and smiled as he looked over at Kaaya.
"Wedding is in 2 weeks time and you will get your MBBS next week so your promise to Vivaan is forfiled…
"But Jiju how did you know about that?" she asked curiously…He winked at her and left the room with Gauri.
"Nice and beautiful engagement. They looked so happy together," he said as he lay in bed think of the evening.
"We have a lot to do in 2 weeks," she said looking up at him as he held her in bed.
"Stop worrying I have arranged everything before I arrived in Kolkatta, just need to sent out the invites. You seriously have no faith in me, " he said letting out a sigh.
"What?" she said surprised as she looked at him.
"Go to sleep!" he said firmly as he closed his eyes.
"You arranged everything before you arrived and…..
"Look I'm tired and want to go to sleep you are always worrying. If it not one thing then it another it's been a very long day. Please promise me you wouldn't go wondering off without tell me like this morning," he yawned as he turned over.
"But Shiv I want to know…..
She looked over at him and stared at his back smiling she snuggled up to him and took hold of him.
"What did I say about staying on your side of the bed!" he whispered as he felt her soft silky hair on his face.
"Sorry can't help it," she teased as she kissed him on the cheek.
"That is exactly why I made you sleep on the floor as you can't stop yourself. You would have killed me in the first week," he teased as he turned over to face her in his arms.
"I can even see you blushing in the dark," he whispered as he leaned forward and kissed her…….
"Shiv where are you going?" Nikhila asked as he put down his suitcase in the hall.
Everyone turned to stare at him as he approached them at the dinning table.
"Some thing has come up and I have to leave for Delhi," he said looking over at Gauri as she stood there surprised.
"But the wedding is in 3 days and your….
"Mom if I could help it then would have rearranged it but I need to finalise this project. I have got everything riding on this deal," he explained.
"Nihkila! Shiv knows what he is doing. You will be back in time for the wedding," Mahen asked looking over at him.
"Yeah of course I will!" he smied as he walked over towards the suitcase.
He looked over at her and knew she was surprised, as he did not know everything had been arranged so soon. He watched her as she approached him and looked at him.
"You never said anything," she said looking at him.
"Actually Machan called me this morning and informed me everything has been arranged and the party wanted to see me today….so I have to go," he looked at her and smiled.
"Shiv" They turned to see Machan as he walked over towards them smiling.
"Bhabhi you are coming with us….
"To the airport," he added quickly as he took hold of her hand…….
