Recap: Maya has announcement that Gauri was going to sing for Shiv.

Part 4

Gauri was stunned by Maya Pua's announcement. "WHAT?"

Shiv felt very uncomfortable when he heard the announcement and walked over to Gauri.

Gauri could feel his warm breath on her neck. Shiv whispered in her ear.
S; what is all this Gauri? What is Maya Pua talking about?
Gauri looked down on the floor.
M: Come on Shiv bring! Bring your beautiful wife here!

Gauri felt uncomfortable and awkward this was another trial she had to face.
She looked over at Shiv. She could sense that he was tense by the announcement. His eyes said it all she wanted to run and hide.

Everyone was surprised by the announcement. They all turned and looked at Gauri and Shiv.
Shiv noticed everyones gaze and smiled.
S: Chale…..
Shiv held Gauri's hand and they walked over towards the small stage.
S: Pua I do not know what you are doing?, but this is embarrassing.
M: I know Shiv don't you just love it. Let see if your Gauri can sing!!!
Shiv gave Maya a dirty look.
S: She is all yours Pua!
He let go of Gauri's hand and walked away. Pua handed Gauri the microphone.
M: Let hear you sing Gauri.
Maya gave Gauri an evil look and walked of the small stage.

Kavya joined Anjali and sensed that Anjali was nervous about something.

K: What the matter?
A; I don't know but something is not right.
K: Kya…. Are you feeling OK.
Anjlai smiled "I am fine!"….Anjali loved the way Kavya was always worrying about her. Kavya put his arm around her and they looked up at Gauri.

A: Shiv ! Gauri is a good singer. Please do not worry.
S: Hey…..
Shiv smiled at Anjali. He was think of a way to get back at Maya Pua. Shiv headed towards the bar and asked for a large whiskey.

Gauri's eyes followed Shiv and she knew that he would start drinking heavily. She looked around and saw everyone looking at her and watching her every move. She nervously held the mic in her hand and closed her eyes…….

"Beta when ever you Sing it must come from your heart. You must be able to feel every word and every note. Only then will you be able to touch someone's heart with your sangeet."
Gauri remembered her mother's words as she brought the mic close to her lips.

(Shiv was stunned when he heard her voice he turned and stare at her from the bar. Kavya took Anjali's hand and started dancing. Slowly all the couples joined in.)

(Gauri looked like a different person on the stage like it was not the Gauri that everyone had knew .she looked like she was at peace with herself. She stared at Shiv and walked down the steps of the stage onto the dance floor. Shiv watched her every move as he rose from his seat and headed towards the dance floor. She stood in the middle of the dance floor whilst the couples danced around her. Her words had moved him and he just wanted to be near her. Vivaan manovered Shiv to face Gauri on the dance floor close to each other. Shiv could not take his eyes of Gauri as she proceeded)

Shiv tossed and turned in bed. Every time he closed his eyes all he could picture was Gauri singing to him.

"Dame it " he shouted
Gauri had just started to drift of the sleep when she heard his husky voice from beneath the covers.
G: Shiv..Kya Hua…?
Shiv turned on the light and Gauri got up to see what was troubling him. Gauri knew that on many occasions Shiv had nightmare but he would never told her what he saw.
S: I cant sleep!
G: apke tabeht tek hai
Gauri hand went to touch his head.
S: Gauri Stop!! He shouted
"Please leave me alone." He got up and went to the bathroom. Gauri watched him and knew that something was troubling him. She want to easy his pain but knew that he would never share anything with her as there relationship had not reached that level yet.

Shiv came out of the bathroom and sat on the edge of the bed. Shiv Kapoor you are a fool why are you thinking about Gauri in such a way. You need a plan to get her out of your life. He shook his head in frustration.
S: I am going out for some fresh air.
Shiv opened the bedroom door and went outside in the garden.

Gauri was frustrated with herself, as she did know what to do. What the matter with him he had never had any problems sleeping before? What could be troubling him? Gauri stood by the window and observed him. He looked lonely sitting on the swing. What should I do???

Shiv looked at the night sky. What is happening to me why can't I get those word out of my head and why do have this feeling in my heart? He punched his chest.

"Shiv what's the matter"
Shiv looked up and saw his father

S: I can't sleep dad
M: Yeah me to…umm..I want to tell you something Shiv.
Mahan sat down next to Shiv.
M: I should have told you long time before. Me and your mother are very proud of you and you know we love you.
S: I know dad.
M: I know there were times when you thought I did not care, but that's not true. Your mother and I know that asking you to marry Gauri at that time was hard for you but Son you must give it time and everything will fall into place. Gauri has done so much for this family, she saved Shyla's marriage and you in the jungle. Ask yourself why she has done so much? If it was not for love then what Shiv."
Shiv did not know what to say how could he tell his father that he loved another, he silently listen his father.
M: She does not want our money as we have discovered she is Devika's granddaughter and she got more money then us. Right!
Shivs smiled and remember Devika's face when he confronted her. Mahen looked at Shiv and they both started laughing.

Gauri entered the Kitchen to discover Bade ma making tea.

N: Gauri? Why are you not a sleep beta? You must be exhausted!
Gauri smiled at badi ma
G: Ji.. voh.. Shiv could not sleep, so I though of making him some hot chocolate.
N: Gauri good idea… I used to make him coco when he was little.
G: Badi ma tea this time?
N: Mahen is also having trouble sleep too and tea helps him to relax. You know! I think that they are luck to have us worry about them… nai….
Gauri smiled and finished making Shiv's hot chocolate.

Mahen looked up to see Nikhila deep in conversation with Gauri. Gauri was carrying the drinks tray as they headed towards them.
M: Look Shiv!
Shiv looked up to see his mother and Gauri coming over with drinks.
Gauri served everyone their drinks.

M: mm… I need that thank you.
N: Whats the matter Shiv? Gauri mention you were having trouble sleep.
Shiv looked at Gauri. Why can't she just keep quite?
M: I think Shiv is still amazing with the party this evening…. Gauri I must say it was very well organised and Vivaan told me that the workers in the office were given gifts to celebrate Shiv's birthday too.
N: Yeah! She even went to mandir this morning to pray for Shiv happiness. Gauri has had a very busy day today.
M: Gauri .. Nikhali tells me that you won a very big music festival in Shimla. .
G: Ji paap..Mujhe Kaaya aur apne college ke fees ten thi. Anjali meri Puaji ki beti ne humare naam competion pe dia.
N: Wow Gauri aur tum jeet gahe.
Gauri smiled shyly. Shiv looked at her. Gauri was scared to even to talk to the family how did she get the courage to sing on stage. He wondered was there more to Gauri then met the eye..

Gauri had just wowed Shiv in a love song and Shiv was wondering who Gauri really is....

Gauri in the car on her way home and recalled her meeting with Anjali at the coffee shop that afternoon.

"Sorry Gauri!" Anjali sat down at the table. Gauri smiled she knew that Anjali had an habit of being late.
A: Here!
Anjlai had brought Gauri a gift.
A: What are waiting for? Open it!
Gauri smiled at Anjali and opened the gift. It was a small little sliver statue of Lord Ganesh.
A: It's a late wedding gift from Kavya and me. May lord Ganesh protect you and Shiv.
Gauri was touched by Anjlai's gift and started crying. She tried hard to stop the tears but it was no use. Anjali held Gauri's hand and knew that something was wrong but did not say anything. Gauri looked up and saw Anjlai crying too.
" Didi why are you crying?" Gauri sobbed.
A: Because you are crying and you know your making me look horrible. Gauri it a public place I have an image to maintain.
Gauri started laughing and Anjali joined in.
A: Now tell me everything.
Gauri looked at Anjali "Didi he loves someone eles"…..
As she said the words the realization hit her YES Shiv loved someone else. He married her to keep his family happy.
Anjali looked at Gauri and could sense that she was very distressed.
A: Tell me Gauri honesty do you love him?
G: Didi before I met Shiv I did not know what love was but if love is making someone happy and not able to see upset or hurt. Is that love? If love is being unhappy when he is not around and longing to see him then yes I Love him.
A: Does he know this?
G: No Didi
Anjali started laughing and Gauri was surprised by her reaction.
A: Sorry Gauri…Let me tell you about Kavya and me. I had my only reasons for marrying Kavya and all I wanted to do was to hurt him the way her hurt me, but his love changed me. I cant live without him and I will try my very hardest to ensure that no one hurts him ever. Our motives for marriage were initial different but we need to remember that marriages is a holy bond we have to try our level best to make it work. If both parties agree that it not working then they should separate.
G: Didi are you saying that I should leave him…
A: No! You need to tell him how you feel about him and work it out. Tell me do you know whom he loves?
G: No Didi, but he has showed a picture of her when she was 14 years old.
A: What ?…..mm..So that means she is someone from his past whom he has not forgotten.
G: Yes didi
Anjali smiled " This girl from his past is a loving memory and an infatuation, which he does not want to forget. You are his present and future, you must make him see this. If you are going to compete with his past you are going to loose. You have to create new loving memories, which include you, and the key is to make him fall madly in love with you. Make him want you and need you. Being the obedient wife and daughter in-law is not enough you must become his LOVER. It's going to be a hard battle but this is the only way you are going to save your marriage.

Gauri had to make the decision was she going to fight for Shiv or let his past rule…..Something in this relationship has to change.
