SHIV and GAURI....they have had an arranged marriage, which was forced on to both of them...but theres none of this kundali business. Shiv had a girlfriend (ipshita) but his parents disaproved.
PART 1
SUHAAG RAAT
Gauri was sitting on the bed in her wedding dress waiting for Shiv...the bed was decorated with red petals. She was thinkin of her new life ahead...'oh my god, whats my husband going to be like..im soo scared...'shes getting shy thinking about all of the things that myt be happening that night 😳 and lowers her eyes. Her thoughts are interrupted when Shiv is pushed into the room by his sister Palak 'jao jao bhaya aaj to apki suhaag raat hai!!' and winks at him. Shiv thinks 'ye kaha mai fas gaya yaar'. He closes the door behind him takes one look at a veiled Gauri and goes to the bathroom. Gauri's heart skips a beat and she waits for Shiv to come out.
in the bathroom shiv was looking in the mirror and thinkin of the beautiful moments spent with Ipshita...their first date 3 months back and how Ipshita had spilt hot coffee on his trousers, and how mad Shiv had got. Shiv had vowed never to see her again, but they kept on bumping into each other and eventually they had fallen in love. When Shiv had spoken to his parents about Ipshita they had refused. Ipshita's mother was known in the society to have had an affair and there were rumours that Ipshita was najaayaz. Mahen and Nikhila had refused the marriage on the basis that Ipshita's family has a bad reputation and had got him maried to Gauri soon after...Shiv had refused to even meet Gauri and had no idea what she even looked like. 'ill never forget u Ipshi' thought Shiv. 'mera dil mein sirf tum ho...isme kisi aur keliye koi jaga nahi hai'
Gauri was geting a bit agitated. Shiv had been taking such a long time in the bathroom 'What a woman...not even i take soo long in the bathroom!!' Gauri had not seen Shiv personally before, she had seen his photograph and had agreed to the marriage without giving it a second thought. She was from a poor background, her father was in debt, her sister Kaya wanted to study further, and her brother well he was a jodu ka ghulam! Gauri felt like she was a burden and so wanted to lessen her fathers load as quickly as possible.
Shiv finally came out the bathroom dressed in his pyjamas. He went to the bed, and said 'Bahot lambha din tha...mujhe sona hai', took a pillow and made his bed on the floor, switched off the lamp and went to sleep.
Gauri was in shock, all the dreams of her suhaag raat she had had, how she would speak to her husband for hours, get to know him, broken, she had not even spoken to Shiv let alone seen him properly. 'what did i do wrong?' she laid her head down, one tear rolling down her cheek and slowly drifted off to sleep.
