I don't want Meera to leave him either. I want them to repent, I want them to apologize and I want them to grow from this. Every marriage I am sure hits a rough patch at some point, but we don't quit. It would be great, if In TV as well they showed a couple trying to move past their mistakes, rather than the cliched trying to manaofy the other. But it'll probably end up being the next track. This track already has become the track where the FL is right, the ML doesn't get that, he becomes an ass, the FL suffers, the audience loss their shit and sympathize with the FL, irrespective of her batshit crazy antics and plans and then once everything is fine again, then the FL grows a spine overnight and then we have the ML becoming the majnu.
@bold- I think that is precisely what is going on over here.😆
I agree with your analysis regarding Meera and Vivaan. Unfortunately, most of that gets lost in translation.
FFed through last week's epis and ohh boy we are yet to see anything from the ML's POV! He is all over the place and the screenplay just does not try to get across his conflict/confusion/love et al.
Now I am all for subtlety in a love story but THIS is obviously not that. And who else to blame for this incoherence other than the one who gets credited for the screenplay... Bhavna Vyas and her "team"(if she has one🥱).
To me they are toying with Vivaan's characterization and in all probability, CVs have got new instructions from the channel/PH to make this more "mainstream". As a result we have a poor variant of BnB instead of PnP. Fair enough. But what is stopping them from exploring the emotions of their ML otherwise? All they show is him reacting in anger... where is the self-reflection, monologues to suggest conflict, flash backs, self-reproach upon doing something deplorable... ANYTHING? You generate as much hate as you want for the "beast" but at least try selling his POV... so that we can understand what drives his actions, if not justify them all.
IMO, the track is based on the trauma that has defined their ML.. the ScrnPlay should try generating some sympathy for him in that aspect, if not for his actions against the FL. Save for one episode in between, we usually end up with more mindless scenes... WTH was that patra kaand+ ghee mein aag dalo shaadi?😕 If we have to analyse every character motivation, what is the ScrPlay writer doing?
If the upcoming Doubtfire nautanki also tries exploring Vivaan's POV through their conversations, then there will be some sort of semblance to this madness. Otherwise I have NO WORDS for kursi-ghoom romance!!
One fine day when this show will not be about "sheh aur maat", they will still need their ML around at least as a prop. He should not prick in the eye then. OTT "redemption" only makes sense if the character APPEARS redeemable. I am not suggesting he is not... but the screenplay needs work! Whatever the brief... If the ML appears shallow only because some vamp is driving the narrative, then that obviously shows ineptness of the writer.🥱
