I think they were trying to show that he doesn't like to interfere into others' lives or influence their personal choices. So instead of talking to Meera, he asked Sumer to clear it with his would-be wife himself... that he liked Silky, not about the video. He thought probably Meera would then decide for herself what she wanted... after talking it out with Sumer. Also showing Silky in a bad light to the family part might have played in his mind. 😕 He mentions that if Sumer didn't listen to him then he'll have no other option other than to involve himself... because the family deserves better.

I don't think he wanted the marriage to break as such just coz he likes her... he wanted the family/bride, everyone else to decide for themselves after hearing the truth... coz this marriage means so much to them.

...But all this with a rushed screenplay ofc. I'm going to take it this way and move on.🤣

PS- I knw he didnt want to break marriage..bcoz everybdy was happy.But this shld have been cleared in the episode. At least 2 more monologue shld be fine. Or else, he went to somebdy to tell truth, and upon hearing they just express their extreem hope etc, which put offs Vivaan
