I don't understand where Soni kudi fits in the story. Will Meera be joining it? If she is then for whom and why?

No i don't think meera gonna to join it...actually show is all about to show new growing tradition of punjab which is bride training institutes...where girls need to remend n groom demselves in order to get some rich nri boy...its becoming so common in punjab dis days...soni kudi academy is just to reflect dat new culture of punjab...n nothing

May be Meera might have to join there as going by the promo. Sumeir says that kamiyan dusron mein nahin tummein khud mein hain something like that... so may be her family specially her mother will force her to join the academy after that dress scene. Just a random guess only:)

But it'd be kinda weird since that teacher basically tells all the girls to pursue her (maybe) son 😆

Meera & that mentor are definitely going to have clashes in future but if she doesn't go to academy then how clashes can happen?
