Chapter 2-All Women Are The Same!
I run almost insanely towards Manik's ward through the corridor and soon I heard his shouts when I got nearer..
"Fu*k off!!! I won't eat these fu*king medicines and food!!! Don't eat my brain ahhh!!!!" He was shouting when I entered his room and doctor Edward along with the nurse were standing with worried faces.
"Mr.Malhotra?" I called him out and he turned to look at me. His face was looking so painful. He was in tragic pain..
"Here you are!" He said in a poisonous tone and I sighed..
I thought he would show some mercy but he was an ass..
"You are the one responsible for my pain! Come here and gimme the food and medicine! It's your punishment!" He was shouting his lungs out and I unknowingly found it cute..
He wanted me close to him..??
Nahhh...
He just wanted to take the revenge for saving his life...
Well that's ridiculous...
"Doctor Murthy thank God you are here! We don't just don't know how to handle him!" Doctor Edward said with irritated expressions and Manik glared at him with scornful eyes.
Without saying anything I took the breakfast tray from Jesy and walked towards Manik who was sitting with a grumpy face. I sat in front of him and glared at him he looked least effected.
"Okay I will give you the food and medicine but you have to stop these tantrums! Got it?" I mumbled just enough loud so that only he could hear it..
"Last night I only told you that don't fu*king babysit me!" He too mumbled gritting his teeth and I just wanted to slam the food tray directly on his handsome face but somehow controlled the urge..
"And I last night told you not to swear in front of me!" I whispered angrily stuffing a morsel in his mouth and he chewed it with least interest.
"Okay Mother Teresa!" He gritted his teeth and I faked a smile..
"Come on be a good boy and have your food!" This time I said loudly and the people standing behind me sighed in relief.
"Yes Mommy!" Manik too said out loud playfully and stuck his tongue out..
He can't be serious..
Idiot...
"Thank you Nandini!" Edward walked to us and placed his hand on my shoulder.
Yes we were friends so he sometimes used to call me by my name..
"Oh Edward you know it's not needed! You can call me anytime!" I said with a smile looking at him and suddenly Manik started coughing.
"Oh sh!t!" I exclaimed and got up to pick the glass up. I made Manik drink it but he kept coughing. It made me so worried. I leaned forward and rubbed his back with one hand while other was wrapped around his waist. His coughing subsided to a little extent and soon I found him wrapping his arms around my waist and his face was in my neck. His coughing stopped and suddenly everything settled down..
The missing piece of my jigsaw puzzle kinda life suddenly get found and I sucked a sharp breath when he nuzzled in my neck purring like a small baby while without any intention my other hand went in his thick long hair ruffling them slowly he was breathing in my neck..
"Please tell me that you are okay!?" I whispered worriedly in his ear and felt his grip around me tightening.
"Nandini?" Edward's voice snapped me out of the fantasy and I tried breaking the hug but Manik didn't let me go..
"Manik? Leave me!" I whispered awkwardly looking at Edward who was staring at us..
"Stay!" His voice held warning and a different kind of husk it sent chills down my spine making me shiver..
"Manik please!!" I begged still feeling a lot awkward but he was so stubborn..
"I said na! Just fu*king stay!!!" He growled in my ear and I felt like my whole body turning into jelly..
He made it so difficult for me with loads of difficulties I parted away and he looked down.
"Are you okay Mr.Malhotra?" Edward asked with weird expressions but Manik didn't say anything instead he almost snatched the food tray from me and himself started eating.
Edward look at me and I look at him. His eyes held questions for me and I immediately looked away.
"I have a round to go! Just take care of the patient Murthy! Jesy come with me!" Edward said shaking his head and walked out of the ward. As soon as he walked out I slapped Manik's shoulder angrily..
"What was that?" I demanded crossing my arms across my chest but he kept eating in silence and didn't bother to answer me.
Ufff...
"Manik am asking you something?" I spoke again but again same cold silence..
I bite my lower lip and took a deep breath. He was testing my patience..
"Let me feed you?" I said trying to take the plate from his hand but he jerked my hand away..
Haww!
"What happened? Abhi thodi dare pehly you were asking me to feed you the food and medicine ab kya hua?" I asked angrily and finally he looked at me..
"Fu*k off! I don't need you anymore! I can take care of myself!" He said coldly and my anger rose..
"What the hell is your problem?? What do you want?" I shouted and he again started eating not answering me..
There was a long pause until he said the words which made me feel disgusted..
"Your boyfriend must be missing you! Go and check him!"
"Boyfriend?? Edward? Are you talking about Edward??" I freaked out and he calmly placed the empty food plate on the side table with that he picked up his medicines..
"Yeah who else!?" He said gulping down the medicines and I look at him in disbelief..
"He. Is. Not. My. Boyfriend.!!" I stressed on each word and Manik chuckled..
"Do I look like a fool to you? Ehh? The way he looks at you! It feels he is ready to fu*k you anytime!" He said in a pathetic tone and I was speechless for few seconds..
"He is not like this!!" I tried to defend Edward but Manik pulled covers over his head pretending to be slept..
I sat there for few minutes and then got up like a complete failure..
Wait a second? Why am I so sad that he misunderstood me?

Two Days Later..
"Maximilian! Don't run little boy! It's not good for your health!" I shouted running behind Max who was playing around.
He was an orphan and a cancer patient. His life was so unsure, uncertain and short.
It was my routine to visit the cancer child ward after every two days. I used to bring chocolates and balloons for them. They all were like me.
I had a special attachment with Max. He was the most cute and loveable child of the ward. Today he was running and I was chasing him in heels..
Oh God it can't be more difficult..
Suddenly I saw him stopping in front of Manik's room and I palmed my face.
"Maxi no!" I whispered yelled at him but he was very stubborn. He entered Manik's room and I became nervous as the encounter of two days ago roamed in my head..
I quietly walked near Manik's ward and peeped in carefully only to see the most adorable sight ever. Manik was lying on the bed and Maximilian was sitting on his tummy. Manik was laughing with him and was tickling Maximilian.
"What's your name little love?" Manik asked him lovingly and Maxi laid on Manik snuggling in his chest.
He can talk this sweetly too???
I was amazed...
"Maxxhh!" Maximilian replied with a pout and Manik chuckled pecking his forehead..
"Ohkay Maxxhh! What are you doing here?" Manik asked running his fingers through Maxi's hair and made him laid beside him. Max placed his head on Manik's arm and threw his one leg over Manik's waist. They both were behaving as if they both knew each other since long...
"Am hiding from Doctor Nini! We were playing!" Max told Manik and held his chain which he was wearing in his neck..
"Doctor Nini? Who is he?" Manik asked confused and Max yawned..
"She! She!" He corrected him closing his eyes and I saw Manik smiling on Max's cuteness. Max was sleeping in Manik's arms now.
I was reluctant to go inside now but I knew I had to go and take Max back to his bed. Without making much noise I entered the room slowly and Manik's eyes snapped at me. I stopped where I was and saw Manik's eyes turning soft..
"Wo! I came to take Max!" I said lowly and Manik once again looked at sleeping Max who was clinged to him tightly..
"It's okay! You can take him away once he will wake up!" Manik said softly removing few of Max's hair away from his forehead and I shook my head..
"No! He has to go! He don't have much time Manik!" I said in a low voice as I sat at the little space beside Max and Manik held out Max's tiny hand which was fisting Manik's shirt fabric..
"Why pretty and innocent souls always have to leave early?" Manik asked lowly and I felt tears stinging my eyes.
"It's all God's will! You and me! We can't do anything!" I said touching Max's hair and Manik shook his head..
"Why God always do unfair?" Manik complaint and I looked down because I too had no answer..
"I was three years old when my parents died in a car accident! What about your parents?" I told Manik my story and he listened to me carefully..
"I was born orphan! I don't know who my parents were!" Manik told me without even a bit of emotion in his voice and I stared at him shocked...
He saw so much in his early life..
"Manik you have to trust me! Edward is not my boyfriend! He is nothing but just a friend!" I pleaded and Manik nodded..
"I know you are not like this! I was just pissed off that time! Am sorry for behaving like an idiot!" He apologized and I giggled..
"Well you are an idiot!" I said nodding my head and he smiled a little. We both stared at each other before looking down at Max who was still sleeping. I bent down and he too did the same. We both simultaneously kissed his head and he purred in sleep snuggling in us more..
Max was the reason of our friendship...

"Yeah yeah! Why you always flaunt your smartness??" I said playfully poking his shoulder and he chuckled shaking his head..
"Well that's how I am!" He said winking at me and I laughed. It was almost midnight and it's been a week for our friendship.
I must say Manik was a cool man. He was sweet! He was possessive! He was kind hearted! But there was something which always bothered him and he never told me. He used to get lost somewhere whenever I talked about Max or kids who were dying...
"Do you smoke?" I asked in a serious tone and he shook his head..
"No! But I drink! And I drink a lot!" He said shrugging his shoulders and I nodded..
"Hey! You said that you like me in open hair? Did we meet before?" This thing was bothering me since long ago..
"Yeah! You don't remember that meeting but I remember every bit of it Doctor!" He said with a smile and stared at the stars out of the window. I waited for him to continue. Actually we both were sitting on the floor with a reasonable distance between us very close to the floor length and wall width window. He was sitting with his back resting with wall and I was sitting in front of him crossing my legs.
"You were at the club! Partying and dancing crazily! Your hair were open!" He said dreamily looking at me and It made me smile so brightly.
What was the feeling?
He sat straight and I unintentionally slid more closer. His hand raised and reached for my hair clip.
"They are the same as I remember!" He whispered sweetly and pulled off the clipper. "Long! Silky! With exotic fragrance!" He spoke in a dazed tone as his fingers slid effortlessly through my hair and I leaned forward to grip his shoulders..
"Man--nik!" I stuttered as he leaned closer to my lips and I breathed heavily.
"Am going to kiss you Doctor!" He whispered dead close to my lips and I gulped running my tongue over my dry lips while his eyes followed my movements..
"O-okay!" I stammered fisting to his shoulders tightly and he was about to kiss me when suddenly the trance broke with a cracking sound of my cell phone.
It was ringing..
Hell with this phone...
I opened my eyes to look at Manik's irritated face and I sheepishly looked down.
"Take it!" He whispered with a fake smile and I too smiled awkwardly.
I got up and Manik too followed me. I look at the caller ID as well as Manik.
"Fu*ker!" Manik cursed walking away because it was Edward.
I felt so bad but picked up the call. There was nothing special which Edward had to discuss so I excused him with early and turned to see Manik sitting on the bed. Biting my lower lip I went close to him and sat beside him.
"It's very late!" I started lowly and he hummed..
"I think I should go!" I said the other part and he looked at me with an innocent face.
"Subha jaldi aa jaoa ge na?" The question was more like a plead and I smiled a little..
"Tumharay jagny say pehly aa jaoan ge!" I said softly holding his hand and suddenly his next move left me baffled as he hugged me tightly hiding his face in my hair .
"Thanks for being with me!" He mumbled and I hugged him back..
"Thank you to you too!" I too said lovingly and soon we both parted away. He cupped my left cheek and bent down to my right to kiss it with so much affection..
This was the thing missing in both of our lives...
"Good night!" I said blushing at him and he too smiled..
"Good night!" He too said and I got up to leave when I realized he was still holding my hand..
"Manik I need to go!" I said with a fake annoyed face and he shrugged..
"Haan tou jaoa na!" He said casually and I made a bad face before raising our entwined hands..
"How can I leave when you are holding my hand like this?" I said raising my eyebrows and he left my hand smiling sheepishly.
"Bye!" I waved at him and run out of the room with my heart thumping wildly in my chest..
I Love Him!!!
A quick realization hit me and I felt so good...
The thing I saw in his eyes was love yes!!! I can't be mistaken..
Wow! I never knew that I will fell on love with that idiot and that too so soon..

"Good Morning Manik!" I exclaimed loudly holding a bouquet of red roses but he was sleeping soundly..
"Wow! Mjy jaldi bula kar khud so rahay hain!" I said shaking my head with a bad face and stared at his Innocent face. I placed the roses near his pillow and ruffled his hair.
Before he wake up I should go and have a quick round of my office to get to know about my appointments.
Leaving him sleeping alone I quietly walked out of the room and slowly walked down the corridor when suddenly Edward came in front of me..
"Hey Edward! You here such early morning? Anything serious!?" I asked casually with a usual smile on my face and he nodded..
"I wanted to talk to you!" He said in a serious tone and I nodded..
"Yeah speak up!" I said folding my arms across my chest and suddenly the air grew awkward..
"Nandini! It's been almost two years since we are working together! Till now I grew feelings for you!" He started and my eyes widened. "I..! I love you Nandini!!" He said holding my hands suddenly and I gasped..
"Edward no! I don't love--!" Before I could complete my words Edward pinned me with the wall.
"Shhh! I know that you love me! Just accept it!" Edward said placing his finger on my lip and my eyes widened more. Before I could protest more he dipped his face in my neck and bite it harshly causing me to shriek. I was about to push him away when suddenly I heard a gasp with a loud cracking sound. I angled my head to see Manik standing with horrified eyes and the thing I saw in his eyes snatched my breath away. The glass he was holding in his hand was shattered on the floor..
He opened his mouth to say something but closed it again and turned to leave.
"No! Manik! Edward leave me!" I shouted and pushed Edward away. Manik almost run towards his room and as he was barefoot he hurt his foot because of the broken glass but it didn't stop his pace..
"Manik just listen to me!" I screamed running behind him and entered his room. He was standing near the window placing his hand on the glass...
"Manik!" I took his name and..
"Fu*k off!" He spoke coldly and I felt so ashamed...
"It's not what you think!!" I spoke walking close to him and placed my hand on his shoulder but he jerked me off...
"Don't fu*king touch me you bit--!" He didn't complete his words and stopped mumbling curses under his breath. I look at him with teary eyes..
He was going to abuse me??
He sat on his bed holding his head with his hands and I was standing speechless..
"He wa-was the one wh-who sta-started it!" I was now hiccupping and he palmed his ears..
"Shut the fu*k up and just go away!!!!!!!!!!" He shouted his lungs out and I thank God that the room was sound proof..
"I won't! Until you will say that you trust me! Please Manik!" I pleaded and he look at with furious eyes. Suddenly he got up and storm towards me. He grabbed the back of my head and pulled me closer..
"I don't trust you!! Because I hate you!! This mark?? He left his mark on you doctor!" He spoke pushing my hair off my neck and revealing the bite mark pressing it mercilessly with his thumb causing me to scream in pain.
"You are no different then those sl*ts who kiss someone else, hug someone else and sleep with someone else!" He spoke gritting his teeth and that was it for me. I raised my hand to slap him but he was quicker!!
"Dare to slap me and I will rip your each cell apart! All women are same!! You are no different!" He growled and repeated the same words pushing me away..
"How can you say all women are same?? Just list--!" I tried again but Manik grabbed my arms and in next second he pushed me out of his room..
"If you have little shame left then never show me your face again!!!" He spoke and slammed the door over my face..
Did I just lost everything??
Did he just insult me like a fu*king b*tch?
Did he just call me a sl*t??

"Fu*k you Manik Malhotra!!" I said slamming the door with my hands and now it's time for revenge..

I stormed towards his office and he was sitting there with so many other doctors..

"Doctor Fu*king Edward!!" I shouted entering the room and all stood up. Without even thinking for the consequences I reached him and tiny fist directly hit his jaw..
"I will kill you!!" I shouted and reached for his collar slapping him numerous times in that process and all the others doctors tried freeing me but I scratched my pretty nails over his ugly face making him look horrible and he was shouting..
"You made me worth less then a sh!t in front of the only person in my life! You bas*rd!!! I won't leave you!" I shouted my lungs out Doctor Kyle held me from back and I kicked Edward in his balls..
My anger was not coming to an end..
I beat the sh!t out of him Until the female security came and took me away.
Edward was half dead...

The hospital in charge had asked me to take rest for a week but I was so mad on Manik..
I wanted to forget him..
He had hurt his foot at that day too..

I fell on my bed and trembled when one again his eyes full of distrust and hate roamed in my head..

Tring Tring of the cell phone broke my thoughts and I picked it up seeing Jesy's caller ID.
"Doctor Murthy?" Jesy's worried voice made me chock and I got up with a jerk..
"Jesy? What happened?" I asked already trembling with the fear of some bad news.
"He is gone! He is gone forever!" Jesy's words made me forget everything and I felt earth slipping under my feet. "Last night he had tried to kill himself once again! Security handled him! He was taking your name! We gave him a sleeping injection and in morning when I came to his room he was nowhere! We informed the police and they found his hospital shirt near the cliff! He is dead Doctor Murthy! Finally he succeeded in what he wanted to do!!" Jesy was crying and I felt myself halted between the earth and sky..
Manik. Was. Dead.
My. Manik. Was. Gone...
"Khulay baloon main achi lagti ho!"
