"Just remember you are Nandini Khurrana" Neha chipped as Nandini is ready to step out of the house for office. She smiled and noded in yes confidentially.
"You will not let him affect you" Neha ordered again.
"I promise...I will not" Neha heard her confident reply.
"Mumma let's go..." Arjun chipped coming from his room and both left the house.
Nandini dropped Arjun in his school and made her way to office.
Manik is impatiently waiting for her in his cabin.
"Sir all employees are present today" vaibhav informed him.
"Ok" he took a long breath and joined him for introduction session of employees.
"Kuch nahi hoga...bas you are Nandini Khurrana...tuje ose dekh kar affect nahi hona ...take a deep breath..." Nandini tried every effort to calm herself so that she can act as if she didn't knew him. Meanwhile her cell beeped with a message of Neha
"Best of luck" she smiled her best and an unknown strength came inside her.
Manik entered the hall and his eyes got stuck only on one girl, she is none other than Nandini.She was wearing a dark blue kurti with black patyalla salwar and net duppatta on side of her shoulder. Her face has lost its glow. She looked pale and weak then earlier. He thought to himself "you are never comfortable in this attire Nandini...why you are wearing this?"
All employees greeted him with a genuine smile but he didn't took interest in their intro's. And then finally the turn of Nandini came. He came in front of him and she upped her eyelashes.
"Good morning sir" she greeted him with a plastic smile on her face.
"Sir" he gasped.
"Sir I'm Nandini Khurrana... I'm working on the post of accountant here...you can ask me any question if you want" she said looking straight into his eyes and he tried hard to find his Nandini in her but can't.
"Sir" vaibhav nudged him for he went in a coma mode.
"Hmm" he whispered.
"Aapko kuch pochna hai Nandini se?" He said while Nandini smirked lowering her head knowing very well that he can't.
"No" Manik replied and walked inside his cabin. All went back to their work.
"Vaibhav" Manik called him.
"Yes sir" he spoke immediately entering in.
"Send Nandini" he ordered and he noded.
"May I come in sir?" Nandini asked before stepping inside.
He nodded looking at her.
"You called me SIR" she enquired as she intentionally stressed on the word sir.
He get up from his chair and is going to hug him but she stepped backwards.
"Nandini!!" he was shocked.
"It's Nandini Khurrana sir" she said sternly.
"No...you are my Nandini only" he spoke hugging her tight but her body was stiff as if she didn't remember his touch.
"I'm sorry sir, you must be mistaken" she remarked pushing him.
"Nandini why are you behaving like this?? I'm your Manik...I searched you in the entire world and you are here...kaisi ho tum??" he cupped her face.
"Why I'm behaving like this? Why you behaved like that Manik? You are not my Manik... aur haan abhi bhi jinda ho!!" she wanted to give these answers but she only said...
"Sir please...don't" she jerked his hands away.
"Nandini how is our baby? Whom you gave birth? Princess or prince? Please make me meet my child" he asked again cupping her cheeks ignoring her words.
"What are you talking about sir?" She acted as if she was totally unaware of his words. She again jerked his hands.
"Nandini what happened to you?" He asked totally irritated at her.
"I think you are talking about someone else. I have work...please excuse me" She chipped straight and dashed out of his cabin.
"Tum meri hi ho" he smirked and call manager again.
"I want bio data of every employee" he ordered sitting on his chair. He just want to have her address and know about her whereabouts.
"Yes sir" he acknowledged
"Let the game begin Miss Khurrana that too in your way... do you think it's tough for me to know the truth about you for me??" he thought to himself smirking.
"Then you are highly mistaken!!!" he answered to his question as an evil grin covered his face.
