Okay okay I know its been ages now but as it is said der aaye durust aaye...ye story kisi ko yaad bhi hai ya bhool gaye...so here goes the prologue

Few things

Its a short series guys...donno how short but short

As mentioned earlier its a loose adaptation from a 90's episodic from Star Bestsellers - Kya Yehi Hai Pyaar starring Ashish Chaudhary and Sonali Kulkarni..you can watch it on youtube if u want here in the link - Kya Yehi Hai Pyaar
It will be in Hinglish extensively I mean a combo of Hindi & English
It is a simple college couple first love experience...so no major drama no hanky panky no suspense no thrill but all in all mundane stuff..so if u are game for it den head on

PROLOGUE

Hey guys this is Bira here I mean Cabir..umm yeah..I think I have rung a bell already... yours truly evil devil Cabir Dhawan aka Biraaa...I have a slightly different role to play here...dont laugh please but I am the wicket keeper of Space's Cricket Team and the best buddy of Manik..arey Manik Malhotra our start cricketer...jiski haalat thode dino se kafi phusss chal rahi hai..what else...pyaar, Ishq, Mohabbat n Love ka maara...I had warned him to stay away...mat padh mere bhai but kya karen whatever has to happen just happens..

Are you getting confused kya??

Chill guys!!! Same old college love story but pyaar to pyaar hota hai n jab dil tootta hai toh dard zordaar hota hai ...Waah!! Waah!!! Kya sher maara(pats himself)

Some very intelligent philosopher had said that there are 3 stages to love..Uuuh!!!...Aaah!!! and Ouchh!!! and currently our Manju and his Laila I mean Manik and his Nandini are in the Ouchhh!!! Wala stage.

Backstage in the Green room

There is a humongous hustle bustle everywhere and why not it the D day meaning the theatre competition finale. The day that Space has been awaiting for the last 3 years to win the Inter State Drama Fest and this year the chances were too high because Nandini the drama queen of Space was in the lead. It was on her shoulder today to bring back the glory to Space and she had worked hard day in day out for this one day.

But today she sat gloomily in front of the mirror in her costume and half done make-up, trying to find that feisty and raring to go Nandini in the reflection in front of her.

"Nandini I don't see Manik anywhere..I have already looked in and around the auditorium...i don't think he is coming", Navya was going all out of breath. It verified that she had been running all around to look for Manik. Nandini looked at her blankly without a question. She knew he wouldn't come especially after what happened he will make sure that he did something to hurt her more. But she was stupid enough to still wait for him. They had 3 days to fix it. They could have roped in someone else at least as a saving grace but she didn't let that happen, maybe it was one of her ways to punish herself for falling for a heartless guy like Manik.

"I had told you guys..mat lo usse... nakchada kahinka...look at me I am so dedicated I am playing a minor role and even then I am on time and the lead is nowhere to be found", Purnendu furrowed annoyingly

"Puru..please yaar chup ho ja...Nandu he is not even answering the calls that why I called up Cabir to get in touch with him..lets see", Dhruv added nervously while gathering the props to be required on stage while Navya silently prayed to her maatarani.

"Wo nahi aane wala", Purnendu poked again flapping his palm in air somewhat dramatically.

"Shut up Purnendu and Nandini what do we do now please say something", Navya and Dhruv said in unison.

The tension was brewing now. They had to be on stage in the next half an hour and the lead was missing. Raghav sir and Princi would snap their necks for such a callous way of handling things. Space was going to be the laughing stock now, let alone winning now their performing was under scrutiny.

Nandini couldn't meet anybody's eyes and how could she? Everyone else would come to know that she had been crying all night in fact since the last 3 days. It was a big day for her and now everything had come to a standstill. The competition, the trophy hardly mattered to her now. She was trying her best to deal with the swirl of unknown emotions that had been badgering her since sometime now. She couldn't bear anymore and ran to the washroom.

On the ground near the net practice area.

The lamest bowler of their team Shahid had an opportunity to rejoice now. Manik the star cricketer of their team hadn't been able to hit a single ball in the last 10 deliveries. The glow on Shahid's face was in exact contrary to the gloom on Manik's face. Manik swung his bat to yet again miss the ball. Shahid clapped his hand in excitement and got a deadly glare in return. He quickly cut his smile out and again got ready to bowl, Manik asked him to stretch his line up and bowl the fastest he could. Shahid walked back to the point and started his run up and threw the ball hard. Manik positioned his bat and swung again with all the zest in him and and and there it went...where?? no no not the ball..the bat..the bat slipped out of Manik's hands and flew across.

Shahid looked at it in slow motion with horror capitulating on his face. It was definitely going to hit him and he will be dead today. But then the god sent angel aka Cabir came from nowhere and pulled him down, the bat went across their heads and hit the nets and finally dusted on the ground.

"Lo ye bhi gaya", Cabir eyed at the two pieced bat lying lifelessly on the ground while Manik grunted angrily, "This is the 4^th bat that you have broken in the last three days", Cabir remarked again with his signature grin. He exactly knew the state of mind of his dear friend. "Bhai tu Manik hi hai na..I mean the Manik Malhotra who has given countable dot balls in his entire career so far but today was not able to hit a single ball..strange..strange indeed!!!..Kahin ye Nandini ka kamaal toh nahi hai??", he cringed his brows mischievously.

"Shut up!!! Cabir and why are you here?? You were supposed to be cheering your girlfriend in the audi today", Manik snapped sarcastically emptying the whole water bottle on his head to beat the scorching heat.

"Navya is a very understanding girl you see besides jab dost ka jhagda apne girlfriend se hua ho toh main bhala apne gf k saath kaise time spend karu", Cabir chanted pedantically and breaking in to the out of rhythm Ye Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge song.

"Nandini is not my girlfriend okay", he grabbed his bag from the ground and stuffed the sipper back in. His actions had only agitation and restlessness in them.

"But when did I say Nandini??...ahhh..so there it comes from the horse's mouth", Cabir teased him again with one of his arms encircling him.

"Tu pakane aaya hai yaha mujhe", Manik barked annoyingly and released himself.

"Chill bro!! why are you getting so worked up..and I have come to get you to the Audi..yaar they all are waiting for you...you are not even answering their calls"

"That's because I don't want to", Manik picked his broken bat and started walking and suddenly stopped, "And tell HER I am not coming", he huffed angrily and started walking again.

Cabir shook his head in despair, "In dono ka kuch nahi hoga..."

(Turns to the audience/readers) Are you curious to know what happened in-between these two dumb heads well then that calls for a flash back..wait for that or you can always bug the writer for that.

"Hey Manik wait for me yaar", and ran in the direction that Manik went.

I know it is extremely childish😆😆 bas kabhi kabhi aaisi harkatein karne ka mann karta hai...Oops I forgot..Wish u all a very Happy n safe wali Holi

P.S. I have a trivia guys..most of u know that Kaisi Ye Yaariyan was previously going to named as Humko Ishq Ne Maara but do you guys know Humko Ishq Ne Maara is actually a YRF film from the year 1997 on college love about 3 couples Aman & Anjali, Bean(played by Ashish Chaudhary) & Jojo n Kiran(guys name) & Priya...hayee it was such a cute film n d songs were like Uuhhmazinggg!!!..I donno how much will u guys like it now but it was my school time favorite😛😛
