Chapter 1Flashback~Nandini is 6 and Manik is 8
*Nandini's POV*
It was recess tym, the sun was shining brightly & the birds were chirping gleefully. I went outside with my lollipop enjoying the warmth of the sun & started chasing the birds squealing playfully until I bumped into someone. I squinted against the sun & saw a boy standing smirking at me evilly, blocking the rays of the sun. I looked up at him with my large eyes, as he gave a sneer, deciding to put on a show for the class.
"Watch it, idiot" he said snatching my lollipop & throwing it on the ground. I watched it shatter as he stomped on it again, grinning innocently. Refusing to cry, I gave him my best glare while looking around if any teacher is watching what's happening. "Awww wittle giwl wants to cry??" He added sarcastically letting all the kids laugh, waiting for my reaction. I watched at the floor shamefully, wanting to cry, but I know it was weak. My daddy hated it when I cry, & used to say I need to grow up. Almost breaking down in tears I see him turning around only to get punched in the face, followed by a large crack that echoed in the playground, letting all the laughter die out as eberyone analyzed who punched the boy.
A boy
with black hair messed up in style,blackish brown eyes came next to me & brought me to sit up in his lap. I gave a little blush as I heard the boy that was punched running to the door & I looked down, smoothing down my crumpled dress.
"You okay??" he whispered softly, lifting my knee, where a little area was bleeding. Sniffling I buried my head in the crook of his head inhaling his shampoos scent. "It's okay," he murmured, burying his face in my long silky hair. The bell rang signalling everyone had to go inside but we stayed out there, watching the wind twirling aroung leaves until our parents came to pick us up.
"I won't ever let you get hurt again, I promise," he said pressing his lips against my neck. I smiled happily tightening my grip against him not wanting to get up.
~ Flashback over ~
*Nandini's POV*
Nandini is 19 and Manik is 21
After the sudden remenisce, a small smile formed on my lips, as I tightened my grip aroung Manik's neck. 'He really does keep his promises' I thought to myself. His arms looped around my waist another time as he dragged me to his chest. Sighing happily I kissed his cheek.
"Why sudden affection?" he whispered, a mischevious glint in his eyes.
"Just remembering sumthin" I whispered back.
The moon shone through the curtains, His white skin glowing. Manik my official, jerky, idiotic best friend, that I loved to death. Which is weird bcoz I doubt best friends sleep together in practically nothing.
He was in boxers & I'm usually just in one of uis shirts that I randomly steal.
"Hm okay," Manik responded back kissing my nose. I stared at his soft pink lips, my hormones kicking in, as I trailed my fingers against his chest, while his hands massaged my back underneath my shirt.
And yes we are only BEST FRIENDS.
Although I wanted more, I doubt Manik does, and its the typical cowardly feelings that make me unable to bring myself into admitting that I want him. If I tell him, we might not even be friends. Manik swore he would nevr fall in love
after his girlfriend was caught cheating on him. That was the first night Manik came & slept with me.
He was sobbing, clutching the rose he went to her house to give her, and ofcourse what are best friends for? She had a very attractive eye that she tried to pull off as falling down the stairs.
Manik was unlike any other guy. He had a better idea about majority of the girls, & yet he refused to be a player and do anything that moves like the rest of the school guys.
He says he regret being with a s**t, and he wants his first time to be with someone he really loves. I was shocked when I heard him tell me he was in love again, only this time the girl didn't love him back.
"Then she's an idiot," I recall responding back to him. But back to present, I weaved my fingers through his silky hair and rested my head against his chest, falling asleep listening to his soothing heartbeat, as I always every night did !!
