The sound of the phone echoed all over the Murthy's residence. Nandini turned away from the mirror and ran out. Is it Manik again?' Nandini thought as she breathed heavily and picked up the phone.
Nanduu...Happy Diwali'
Amms...Happy Diwali', Nandini smiled as she heard the voice of Amms. Amms smiled listening to the voice of her most beloved Nandu..her beloved grand-daughter as well as her favourite music student.
Nandu...tere bina...bahut soona soona hai...Diwali ki roshni, shor sab kuch tho tu hi hai...' Amms whispered as a tear dropped appeared on her eye.
Amms...aapke bina ye meri pehli Diwali hai...I'm sorry Amms..mujhe aaj aapko call karne chahiye the...wo kya hai ke SPACE main Diwali party hai...aur main ready ho rahi thi' Nandu said as she felt regretful that the whole day for even a moment she didn't think of wishing her Amms.
Da chellam...enjoy the party...abhi teri enjoy karne ki umar hai. Agar tu enjoy karegi..tho mujhe bhi lagega..ke maine bhi enjoy kiye hai...waise tu bahut sundar lag rahi hogi abhi...meri gudiya' Amms said with a smile.
Amms...wo choli thodi si tight hai...isliye thodi si uncomfortable lag rahi thi...' Nandini said as she put her dupatta which was sliding down a bit.
Nandu...Diwali party main tho bahut saare ladke honge..tu na apne dupatte se achche se apne aapko dhak lena...' Amms said getting a bit concerned.
Haan aap worried na ho...main khayaal rakhoongi aur Navya bhi mere saath chal rahi hai...' Nandini said with a huge smile.
Tune aaj aarti tho kiye na subah ko? Aur haan sham ko bhi Lekshmi pooja karne ke baad jaana...kahin bhi jaane se pehle maa ka aashirwad lena bahut shubh hai. Aur aaj tho Diwali hai..itne shubh din..' Amms said with a smile.
Haan Amms kar loongi' Nandini said with a smile.
Nanduuu..Navyaaa..kahan ho?... pooja ka waqt ho raha hai...jaldi idhar aao'. Shannoji said loud as Rishabh and Murthyji stood in their prayer room.
Haan chachiii abhi aayi...' Nandini shouted back.
Nandu..tu jaake pooja attend karle..main tujhe baad main call karoongi...' Amms said with a smile as she cut the call.
Ayyappa...meri masoom bachchi Mumbai jaise bade shehar main hai...meri bachchi ko bachaana..kisiki buri nazar na lage usko. Amms prayed silently.
Nandini placed her red purse on the sofa and walked to stand for the sandhya vandanam. Navya walked and stood near Nandini.
Nandu..aise tho aur bhi der ho jaayegi...bus milenge kya? SPACE party tho shuroo ho gaye honge' Navya whispered looking at Shannoji who was lighting the incense sticks.
Navya..don't worry ...hum time pe pahunch jaayenge...aur haan..abhi thodi der pehle tho tumne Kabir se baat kiye na...wo log tho abhi tak ghar se bhi nahi nikle hai. Lagta hai ke SPACE ki party late shuroo honge.' Nandini whispered and she gently lifted up her flowing skirt a bit and walked to stand next to Rishabh.
Rishu...tujhe bhi Diwali party main aane hai?' Nandini asked as she looked with a smile at Rishabh.
Rishabh nodded his head in a no...and smiled back.
I wish that night had not happened...uss manhoos raat ke baad..Rishu ne tho bolna bhi bandh kar diya hai...Devi maa...please mere Rishu ko wapas thik kar dena..' Nandini closed her eyes and silently prayed as Shannoji lit the diya, placed fruits in a platter and decorated the platter with flowers. Devi maa...mere Amms ka khayaal rakhna...main duur hoon unse. unse duur ye meri pehli Diwali hai. Agle saal...mujhe Amms ke saath Diwali manane hai. Maa...chacha-chachi, Navya aur Manik ka khayaal rakhna.' Nandini prayed silently as she closed her eyes.
Nandu...aa...aake aarti karle...' Shannoji invited Nandini with a smile.
Ji, Chachi' Nandini whispered as she walked to chachi and took the platter with flowers, camphor and diya in it. Nandini started doing the aarti as she sang a Lakshmi sthuthi :-

The whole atmosphere was filled with the festive mood of Diwali...the fragrance of incense sticks, the bright glow of diyas and the beautiful decoration...and added to it...the lovely voice of Nandini still echoed in the ears of Manik as he stood next to Kabir a bit away from the Murthys.😛
This lovely aarti...I would like to hear every morning...every evening...her voice is so pure...musical..so spiritual...'Manik thought as he stood with his hands folded and his eyes closed as he for the first time enjoyed a bhajan song. 😳
Manik beta? Tum yahan? Nandu aur Navya ne tho nahi bola tha ke tum log inko lene aaooge' Murthyji said with a bit surprised look on his face.
Did I just hear that, Ayyappa? Manik?' Nandini couldn't believe her ears as her eyes widened in shock as she turned to look back and there he was standing with a smile on his face. Navya also turned back to look with a shocked expression on her face and her mouth opened seeing Kabir and Manik standing a bit away from them and with folded hands.😊
Wo uncle...hum Nandini aur Navya ko lene aaye the..aur yahan pe darwaze pe aaye tho darwaza khula tha...aur andar se aarti ki awaaz sunaayi di...tho humne socha ke door bell bajaake aap logon ko disturb na karenge...isliye andar aa gaye...' Manik said with a smile looking at Murthyji.😳
Nandini was standing with her eyes wide in surprise and she just couldn't blink her eyes. Is this happening for real Ayyappa? Is Manik really in my home and he heard me singing aarti too?' Nandini thought as her gaze fell upon Manik whose eyes were stuck to her shamelessly.
She...she is so beautiful...like a goddess...' Manik thought as he looked at Nandini in her red choli, creamish skirt with golden border and red dupatta...her face glowing bright with the light from the diya and her eyes shining as the light of the diya reflected in them. She is like a magic...a magic standing right in front of me...' Manik lost sense of his surroundings as he continued to gaze at Nandini. Nandini felt a strange heat rise within her...as her cheeks burned and Nandini felt herself blushing. Nandini took her gaze away from Manik...but his image was still in her heart as she looked away sideways and closed her eyes.
He looks so handsome in that black kurta with the golden design and the golden pajama and with a lovely brooch on it...he so looks like a prince...Ayyappa...save my heart please...' Nandini silently prayed as she looked back to see a slight smirk appear on Manik's lips.
Manik, Kabir..aake Devi ke aarti ka Prasad tho lelo...' Shannoji invited Manik and noticed that Shannoji is distributing the Prasad.
Ji..auntyji...' Manik said.
Devi ka darshan tho ho hi gaya...aur aaj tho Prasad lekar hi jaaoonga' Manik thought as his eyes looked at Nandini who smiled slightly and whose lips and cheeks almost were turning to be of the same colour.
Ayyappa...Manik yahan kyon aaya? Couldn't he wait for us at the Diwali party in SPACE?' Nandini asked her Ayyappa.
Ayyappa knew Manik's plans...but he wouldn't tell her...would he?' 😆
