I know the show is ending and we all will miss Manik Nandini and their story but I am here to clarify that I will keep on writing if you guys are ready to read... hope you will keep loving and supporting me beyond the show also...

Part 17

Shadows Of Darkness

Manik was kissing all over Nandini's neck as she moaned in pleasure. She snaked her arms around his neck and dug her fingers in his hair while his hands traced each and every curve of her body. Just as things were heating up between them and Manik was about to unzip her dress Nandini's phone rang spoiling the moment between them. Initially Manik ignored the phone and kept kissing her but the phone rang again and this time Nandini said panting "Ma.. Manik please." He sighed and moved aside to let her answer the call. She sat and after steadying her breathing she answered the call. It was Mukti who was calling her and was vexed "Uff Nandu you are a limit. Where are you come fast na party has started." Nandini smiled and replied "I am coming soulie."

She looked at Manik as if she is seeking permission to leave him alone and go. He anticipated what is going on in her mind; he kissed her forehead and said "Nandini the night has just started go and have fun with your friends. And as I promised tonight will be the first of many more beautiful night's we will have together." She smiled and blushed; Manik raised her face by holding her chin and said "don't blush so much and make it hard for me okay." And he stared moving close to her but then she jerked him off and moved out of the car and ran away saying "have some patience Manik as you said the night has just started." Manik looked at her and bit his lip and smiled at the way his life took a 360 degree turn with her arrival.

Manik entered the huge party hall decorated with red and white balloons. The pillars were draped with red and white net curtains and roses and orchids adorned the entire hall. There students; humans for Manik to be precise all around. Since Manik was quite comfortable in his controlling power so he was all ok. All he was worried about was Dhruv; he scanned the entire hall for Dhruv and found every single girl ogling at him. Needless to say he was looking dapper in that black tux making the girls go week on their knees. He looked around and smirked on the effect he had on girls. "500 years and nothing's changed." He thought but he was wrong there was something that changed. For 500 years he made girls go weak on their knees but for the first time there was a girl who was capable of making Manik go weak on his knees and he just caught a sight of her; his life Nandini. She was laughing with her friends on some lame joke teasing them, having fun. Her laugh brought a smile on Manik's face.

But Manik's paradise was disturbed by Harshad who walked and stood behind Nandini very stealthily. His lips twitched in an evil smirk and his eyes narrowing in an apparent imitation of vampires. Harshad while maintaining distance bent down and signaled in sucking her bare neck; he has sent an open challenge to Manik with his move of his. Manik flinched his fists in anger and soon blood started coming into his eyes but before things could spiral out of control Dhruv held his hand and dragged him out.

are you out of your mind bhai?" Dhruv said pinning him to wall. "Dhruv leave me. I will kill that bas***d." Manik pushed Dhruv away and came down to his vampire form with blood in his eyes; crinkled skin and fangs. Manik was about to move in when Dhruv again pushed Manik and threw him away. "He is trying to instigate you. Don't you see it. It's full moon night and one bite from him you are dead." Dhruv explained. "But Dhruv Nandini?" Manik asked. Dhruv put his hand on Manik's shoulder and said "bhai who Nandini ko kuch nahi karega who uski friend hai. He is doing all this just to instigate you. Please we need to see through this night." Manik started to calm down as Dhruv was right although he was not sure about Harshad not harming Nandini but he had no option.

He dug his face in his palms in frustration. He was feeling helpless, Nandini the girl who is his life is in danger and all he could do was wait and watch. This full moon night made him miserable. "Bhai." Dhruv's voice drew his attention. He looked at him and found him restless. "I need blood all these humans around me are driving me crazy." Dhruv said and Manik shook his head in disbelief. They both walked to the car where Manik took few blood bags to feed themselves. All this was witnessed by Neyonika and Vikrant who were keeping a close watch on them. "Manik is in love with that human Nandini." Vikrant said. Neyonika saw the anger on her husband's face and got worried "Vikrant we wanted him to be happy and now he is happy please don't take it away from him." She pleaded her husband.

"she is a human Neyonika and it is against the rules of our coven." Vikrant said. He paused for a while and continued "500 years don't you know how many tears I have shed seeing my Manik in pain. 500 long years he was a normal 20 year old boy in love madly with a girl; a girl who was his life; a girl who is the reason for his pain for 500 years. Vaidehi and vaishnavi they both deceived my sons; the vampire sisters. They turned my sons into vampires and died leaving them alone for eternity." Vikrant sighed. "but Vikrant." Neyonika tried to say something but was cut between by Vikrant "but what Neyonika Manik and Dhruv fell in love with Vaidehi and Vaishnavi the vampire sisters; I agree vaidehi was nowhere at fault in whatever happened that night but still we all became vampire and leading this life." Vikrant and Neyonika travelled back in time to that fateful might when they lost everything, the night where Manik lost Vaidehi and ended up killing Vaishnavi and became a vampire in return.

"Now history is repeating again itself but what I don't get is why Nandini of all people. We need to find out let's go in." vikrant said and both of them walked into the college office to check Nandini's details. They took out the file containing her details and were shocked to see her date of birth and mother's name. "Nandini was born 8^th November exactly 487 years after Vaidehi died and the stars and moon linings were the same as vaidehi's death night. She is a direct descendant of Vaidehi." Vikrant sighed. "You mean Anusha." Neyonika took the file from Vikrant and looked it "It means she is daughter of Anusha whose ancestor is Vaidehi and Vaishnavi. We need to tell Manik about it." Neyonika was panic stricken. "no we don't." vikrant said. "are you crazy vikrant we have to warn Manik cause sooner or later they will come for her; she is their heiress they will come to make her a vampire and she is the girl Manik loves." Neyonika was adamant about telling Manik. "fine but let us just first deal with the situation at hand that is tonight." Vikrant said and they both walked out again to keep an eye.

Back in the hall people were having time of their life. There was laughter and merriment; the students were dancing and lost in their own world irrespective of all the worries and troubles they were enjoying the night. Manik looked at Nandini who in turn was looking for him. She gestured with her eyes asking him where he was which he in turn assured by blinking his eyes that he is just around. She messaged him that she wanted to dance with him. Manik too wanted the same but he could not risk her by telling the world about them openly so he replied in a no and sorry. Nandini felt sad but she smiled remembering his promise of making the night special for her; as she reminisced his words a blush crept her face making Manik also smirk as he understood what she was thinking.

Just as the love birds were busy exchanging sweet nothings they heard Harshad's voice announcing the dance and also inviting Manik to sing as he was the music mentor. Nandini was very excited with this new found information and cheered the loudest leaving Mukti shocked. "are you ok Nandu? You are cheering for that monster Manik." Mukti asked making Nandini realize what she was doing. "are I was excited about the dance not Manik." she quickly covered her excitement with a lie. Soon Manik took the stage and started singing with his gaze fixed on Nandini.

Sapna jahan dastak na de..

Chaukhat thi who aankhein meri..

Harshad moved ahead and took Mukti's hand and dragged her to the dance floor.

Baton se thi tadad mein khamoshiyaan zyada meri..

As Manik hit the notes the lights were dimmed transforming the entire atmosphere into romantic one. Couples were lost in themselves locking eyes with each other as Manik's voice created a serene setup.

Mere dil me jagah khuda ki khaali thi..

Dekha wahan pe aaj tera chehra hai..

Suddenly out of the blue Aliya asked Dhruv for a dance and he took her hand and joined the floor. Manik was little taken aback but he kept his calm.

Nandini was standing all alone lost in Manik; she smiled realizing that he wrote this song for her; for them; for their love. Breaking her trance Cabir asked her for a dance and she happily obliged.

Main bhatkta hua sa ek badal hoon..

It was a happy and peaceful atmosphere where everyone was laughing and smiling and dancing with their partners and Manik was constantly keeping an eye on Dhruv as he could sense his restlessness for Aliya's blood and this led to him losing his attention from Nandini. Suddenly the lights went off.

Harshad was standing near the switch room where he had taken off the switch after excusing himself on the pretext of going to washroom. He lighted a lighter and said "time for action Manik Malhotra."
