Good morning😉
"Manik beta...Manik betaa.."
Hearing the voice..Manik lightly opened his eyes. The light was flooding into his eyes. It's bright day light and standing in front of him was the old servant- Ramu Kakka with a cup of coffee in his hand.
"Utho beta...ye coffee pii lo.." Ramu kakka said with a smile. Manik looked at the old man standing in front of him. His wrinkled face, his tired yet caring eyes always made Manik have a soft corner towards him. He is past 70 years, but he has been a loyal servant from the days of Manik's childhood. Every birthday, Manik got costly gifts decked on his bed after the birthday party. But the only person who always cared to come and tuck the little Manik in bed and give him a kiss on his forehead was Ramu kakka. He was always a dutiful assistant to Manik. Everything Manik needed according to his wishes and tastes were served to him. But Nyonika always treated Ramu kakka with disdain.
Manik got up from his bed and propped himself up against the wall as he continued to sit up on the bed.
"Kakka..time kitna hua?" Manik asked in a bit sleepy voice.
"Beta...8 baj chuke hai...naashte ka time bhi ho raha hai..jaldi se neeche aajao" Ramu kakka said with a smile on his face.
"Haan kakka..aata hoon abhi.." Manik said. "Tab tak aap sab set karlo table pe...Nyonika ne breakfast kar liye?" Manik asked with a little frown on his face.
"Haan beta...wo tho naashta karke chali gayi hai. Aaj college khul raha haina chuttiyon ke baad...tho jaldi chali gayi" Ramu Kakka said as he placed the cup of coffee on the teepoy. "Bete main neeche jaake naashta lagaata hoon...aap jaldi se aajao" Ramu kakka said respectfully.
"Kaakka..maine bahut baar bole hai..ke mujhe aap mat bulaya karo..aap mujhse bade ho" Manik said with a little angry expression on his face.
"Bete...aadat si ho gayi hai...bade logon ke saamne aise hi rehna hai..ye bahut saalon pehle hi mile hue seekh hai...tho ab iss umar main tho badal nahi sakta..."
"Ramu kakka..aapne tho bachpan se mere dekhbhaal kiye hai..tho aap mujhe ek chote ke tarah treat karo na" Manik said getting up from his bed.
"koshish karoonga beta...achcha wo chodo..abhi jaldi se neeche aajao..aur coffee thandi honese pehle pii lo" saying this Ramu kakka went out of the room.
Manik got up from his bed and entered the washroom to freshen up. He looked at his image in the mirror. He noticed that there was still sleep in his eyes.
"Kal raat..Nandu..U stole my sleep...wonder if you were also sleepless like me?" Manik thought as he spread the toothpaste over his brush.
"Nanduuu..." chachi called. "Naashta lagaaya hai..jaldi aajaao" Shanno called from the kitchen.
"Jii chachi!" Nandini said as she walked into the hall. Nandini had her bath and is looking fresh like a flower. But she was yawning as she walked into the kitchen. Shanno noticed Nandini walking into the kitchen yawning.
"Kyon Nanduu?? Thik se soyi nahi kya? Kahin mere Shahrukh ne tho neend nahi churaaye na?" Chachi asked in a teasing tone.
"K..kya matlab hai aapka? Kaun Shahrukh??" Nandini asked as she nervously pressed her lips together.
"Arre..woh jo mere Shahrukh jisko kal raat tune laaya tha na? Uss Shahrukh ki baat kar rahi hoon. Waise ye tho bataao ke mere chota Shahrukh tho celebrity hai...teri mulaqat usse kaise ho gayi?" Chachi asked with a confused expression on her face.😕
"Wo chachi...mujhe Infinity mall main mil gaye the aur jab maine aapke naam liye..tho Manik ko yaad aa gaya.." Nandini made up a reply.
"Achcha??😃 Manik ko main yaad thi??" Chachi asked with a huge smile on her face.
"Haan..chachi...aur Manik bol raha tha..ke aap bahut beautiful ho" Nandini said flattering chachi.
"Hayo rabba...aise bola Manik ne??" Chachi asked as she suddenly blushed. ☺️
"Haan aur bola ke jab aapse mile the tho aap dono ne bahut achche se Manik se baat kiye" Nandini continued weaving the reply😆
"Haan...aakhir Manik bhi tho bahut pyaara hai. Achcha..tu chal aur baith jaa..main abhi naashta lagaati hoon! Aur ye Murthyji kahan reh gaye? Jogging ke liye gaye aur ab tak wapas nahi aaye?" Shanno asked looking at the main door.
"Aaajaayegi chachi...shayad chachu kisi dost se raste pe mil gaye honge aur khade hoke baatein kar rahe honge"
"Haan tere chachu na...raaste main kisise bhi mile tho dosti karke aate hai!" chachi said with a little smile on her face. "Ek din unko na..raste main main mil gayi thi..aur mujhse pooche...what is the time?"
"Aur phir chachi kya hua?"
"Mere paas ghadi na thi...tho maine bol diye ke.. I don't have a watch"
"Aur phir?? chachu ne kuch nahi bole?" Nandini asked curiously.
"Nahi...bas wahan se chale gaye...phir ek din hamari mulaqat bus main. Mujhe bus main koi ched raha tha. Main uss umr main bahut sharmeeli thi. Tere chachu ne dekh liye aur hungama kar diye aur uske baad...hamari mulaqat hoti rahi tho maine ek din unko chai ke liye invite kar liye. Phir pata chala ke wo Tamilnadu se hai..aur unko hindi nahi maloom isliye kuch nahi bolta tha. Mumbai main naya naya aaya tha kaam ke wajah se. Phir maine unko hindi sikhaane shuroo kiye aur unke help kiye yahan pe. Aise dosti se pyaar ho gayi aur phir shaadi bhi!" Chachi narrated her story to Nandini.
Nandini kept on smiling and suddenly noticed Murthy returning from the jogging.
"Murthy ji aap aa gaye? Fresh hoke aajao...aur Nandu..Rishu ko bhi neeche le aana. Lagta hai abhi tak so raha hai" Chachi suggested to Nandu as she decked up rotis onto a container and started filling the bowl with vegetable kurma.
"Haan chachi..abhi Rishu ko leke aati hoon!" Nandini said as she rushed out into the hallway.
"Nandu..tu ready nahi hui ab tak? Aaj SPACE jaana haina? Main tujhe drop karoonga!" Chacha said with a smile.
"Haan chachu aur aapke scooter kitne saal puraane hai?" Nandini asked with a smile "Lagta hai ke aapke dada ke age ke honge"
Murthy tapped lightly on Nandini's head as he said "Mere scooter ka mazaak mat udaa..ye mere shaadi ke baad maine liye the tere chachi ko ghoomne leke jaane ke liye!"
"Haan Nanduuu...tere chachu ke scooter ko nazar mat lagaa tu..warna wo raste pe stop ho jayega..phir tujhe dhakka dene padenge" Shanno shouted to Nandini from the kitchen.
Suddenly the phone started ringing.
"Is it Manik?" Nandini thought as Murthy walked towards the phone to pick up the call. 😉😳
