Family😳
Was it minutes or seconds that passed away...Nandini didn't know..neither did Manik. Nandini's heart only knew that she cannot let go of him...she cannot leave him at this moment atleast like Soha did. Who is Soha? What is her relation with Manik...she knew nothing...but she just knew this Manik whom she was hugging...whose arms were encircling her...she didn't want to see him hurt anymore. Manik didn't open his eyes..but he could feel the way her fingers were caressing his hair from behind. Nandini's fingers were grazing through Manik's hair as she was trying to find words to comfort Manik. Manik hated the moment when he broke down.
"I shouldn't have broken down like this in front of her. What will she think of me? Kya Nandini sochegi ke main mauka dekhke uska fayda utha raha hoon? Will she think that I am weak? Will she think that I am a flirt?" Manik suddenly realized that he showed a hidden side of his which he had hidden from rest of the Fab 5 members...the pain in his heart when he didn't want any of them to see.
"Manik..." Nandini whispered softly as she continued to caress Manik's hair. That soft whisper woke Manik from his thoughts as he backed off from the hug. "Please...calm down...don't hurt yourself like this..." Nandini whispered looking at Manik.
Manik breathed a bit deeper as he trying to calm himself down and wiped his cheek with the back of his hand. There was still a tear drop forming to trickle down shining in his eyes.
"ehmm ok.." Manik coughed slightly as he cleared his throat. "Let me take you back home...its already so late" Manik said turning around.
Nandini moved fast to catch hold of his wrist. Manik turned around to look at Nandini with a curious look on his face.
"Please hum thodi der aur baithke uske baad jaa sakte hai?" Nandini asked in a pleading tone. "Please baith jaao..Manik" Nandini said as she gentled pulled him by his wrist. Manik followed her silently as they both sat down on the sofa next to each other. Manik didn't say anything but continued to look into the blank space..lost and silent. That tear drop was still brimming in his eye.
"Manik...jaante ho? Jab main choti si thi...U know I used to have this doggy of mine. She was like my best friend. Jab bhi main usko bulaati thi..wo daudi chali aati thi. Jab main gussa hoti thi...tho wo samajh jaati thi. Kabhi kabhi main bolti thi..udhar jaake baitho..wo baith jaati thi..leto..let jaati thi. Ek din...wo marr gayi...maine usse kaha...sit up...for the first time ever...usne mujhe obey karne se inkaar kar diya. Pehle tho main gussa hui..phir royi...mujhe samajh hi nahi aa raha tha...why was she not obeying me anymore? Phir papa ne mujhe samjhaaye ke wo aage se mere orders follow nahi karenge. Maine poocha kyon? Papa ne kaha ke wo humko chodke chali gayi. Maine poocha kaha?? Tho papa ne kaha..ke Ayyappa ke paas. Maine Ayyappa se pray kiye..mujhe mere doggy wapas dilaa do...magar Ayyappa ne kuch na bola...tab mujhe pata chala ke shayad wo Ayyappa ke paas zyaada khush thi. Phir papa mom bhi udhar chale gaye...tho tab bhi main royi...ke mujhe aakhir chodke kyon chale gaye? Tab Amms ne bataaya ke wo dono Ayyappa ke saath hai...unn taaron main rehte hai. I hated the stars for taking them away from me. But then...Amms ne bataaya ke ek din sabhi Ayyappa ke paas hi jaayenge. Pehle unko jaane the..ek din hum bhi jaayenge. Kabhi na kabhi..kisi mod pe sabhi ek doosre ko chodke chale jaate hai...magar milenge Ayyappa ke paas ek doosre se zaroor. Rokne se jaanewaala rukenge kya?"
Manik continued to gaze at Nandini as she narrated the story and felt the drop of tear slip down his eye. But then...another tear didn't brim in his eye. He felt as if he was cooling down...he was feeling much calmer.
"Rokne se...agar koi jaana chahte ho tho rukenge nahi...U're right Nandini..Soha bhi...mere rokne se nahi ruki" Manik whispered.
"Manik jo jaa chuke hai...wo shayad ek din wapas aayenge bhi..." Nandini said trying to give hope to Manik.
"Nahi...nahi aayegi..." Manik whispered softly.
"Tho abhi ke liye usko jaane do...if you accept that she left you...you won't feel pain anymore...bas aise socho ke jaha bhi hai...khush rahe...just like I smiled thinking that my doggy is happy with Ayyappa. If we truly love someone na? We must be happy about their happiness. Distance doesn't matter...its the heart that matters" Nandini spoke as she placed her palm on Manik's palm. Manik felt the warmth of Nandini's hand and her heart as he too gently smiled.
Nandini's heart smiled seeing the smile on Manik's face. She felt a thousand flowers bloom in her heart...the smiles of Manik were spreading their fragrances in her heart.
"Thanks...Nandini..." Manik whispered with a smile on his face.
"Call me..Nandu..." Nandini said with a little smile on her face. "You can..call me Nandu.." Manik's face lit up with a huge smile when he heard these words.
"Am I a loved one of hers? Just the first day and she already allowed me to be closer to her..." Manik thought as he continued to look at the smiling face of Nandini.
"Ok..Thanks Nandu..." Manik finally whispered as he bit his lower lip lightly. Manik placed his other hand palm on her palm as he once again whispered.."Thanks a lot...mujhe samajhne ke liye..aur mujhe sambhaalne ke liye..."
"Ok...tho shall we go home now?? It's past 10 already and we need to reach my home too...ab mere ghar chalein?" Nandini asked as Manik suddenly looked at his watch.
"Oh!! It's pretty late already...let me take U home..comeon!" Manik said as he quickly got up.
"Wait Manik...mere dress oopar tumhaare kamre main hai..I forgot to pick it up." Nandini replied.
"Don't worry...I'll get it washed and ironed and hand it to you! Abhi tho your clothes may still be wet. I'll give it to you tomorrow" Manik said.
"Manik...but...I can take it home and hand-wash na?" Nandini asked.
"U know...I got you here without your permission...that too on the first day of our meeting itself. Because of me...U got wet and inspite of all that...U cooked noodles for me..so I want to return the favour..Won't you let me return the favour?" Manik asked holding his waist and tilting his head to the left in a questioning manner.
"Ya..ok ok...I'll help you return the favour...ok...abhi please mujhe chod do mere ghar..." Nandini said to Manik with a little smile. "But before that wait a sec" Manik said as he ran up the stairs to his room and returned back with Nandini's bag.
"Here you go..abhi let's go" Manik said handing over the bag to Nandini as both of them walked out of the door locking it behind him and to the car. He opened the car and sat inside and unlocked the car door for Nandini to sit inside. It was her first time sitting next to a young man in a car. It felt amazing as she looked at Manik who closed the door shut and put the key as he started the car. Manik gently changed the gears and accelerated the car out as Nandini felt her heart too accelerate with innumerable feelings.
"It would be so exciting when chachi meets Manik and I'm sure chacha will also be happy! And Rishabh will also get to meet Manik for the first time..." A huge smile lit up Nandini's face as she started thinking of how wonderful the moments will be to have Manik in their home. Manik lowered the glasses of the car as a gentle breeze caressed Nandini's cheeks. Manik looked around and noticed the way Nandini's loosened locks of hair was flying writing unknown stories in the air. But what he noticed even in that brief second when he looked at her was that smile. Manik returned to looking back at the street ahead of him as he asked...
"Why are you smiling, Nanduuu?? Ghar jaane ki khushi hai kya?" 😛
"U know Manik..I'm so so excited! Mere chacha-chachi will be getting to meet you!! U are my chachi's favourite!" Nandini quipped happily.
"Achcha?? Main unka favourite hoon?? Tumhaare chachi ke taste tho tumse bhi better hai" Manik said in a comical tone.
"Tumko na chachi shahrukh khan bulaate hai! Pata nahi kaunse angle se tum shahrukh lagte ho! Shahrukh tho kitna handsome hai!" Nandini teased Manik trying to retort back for his comment.
"Hello??? Look at me more carefully and U'll find me handsome too!"
"Achcha?? Mujhe tho bilkul nahi lage. Na hi tumhaare dimples hai..aur chehre ke koi bhi features resemble nahi karte Shahrukh ko!" 😕
"Like seriously?? Tho tum kaunse Kajol ko resemble karte ho??" Manik asked sarcastically.
"Maine kab kaha ke main Kajol ko resemble karti hoon?"😕
"Ya like seriously maine kab kaha ke main Shahrukh ko resemble karta hoon??" 😈
"U know??? Tum thode se na..Parth Samthaan ko resemble karte ho!" 😆
"Parth Samthaan?? Wo kaun hai yaar??"😕
"Arreee tum Parth Samthaan ko nahi jaante ho?? Bada handsome hai! U know...Parth ke aankhon main na..ladkiyaan kho jaate hai!" ☺️
"Achcha?? Tho tum bhi kho jaati ho?" Manik asked with a curious look on his face.
"Haan main bhi kho jaati hoon! Aur na..mere takiye ke neeche Parth ka ek photo bhi rakhti hoon taaakki main jaagke good night bol sakoon aur phir main so nahi paati!"☺️
"Kyon??" Manik asked his face growing into a frown with jealousy. 🤬
"Kyonki na...wo mujhe ghoorta hi rehta hai aur main unko ghoorti hi rehti hoon!"☺️
"Achchaaa?? Tho abhi apne ghar ke takiye ke neeche bhi Parth Samthaan ke photo hai kya?" Manik asked as he angrily changed the gear.
"Haan...hai naaa...usko dekhe bagair kaise so sakti hoon?"☺️
Manik frowned as he turned on the radio and suddenly a song started playing
"Tum mere ho..bas mere hi mere ho...

Nandini noticed the way Manik turned serious...he was silent and continuing to drive on. Nandini could feel the way a passion shined in his eyes as he momentarily looked at Nandini silently...it felt as if his eyes were saying...
"Tum mere ho...bas mere hi mere ho..."
Such an intense gaze it was that Nandini felt her cheeks blush. The car was driving on the lengthy highway and minutes passed by as they entered from highway into city areas. The streets are still flooding with people and from the silence of Manik's house and the highway back into the hustle and bustle of the city.
"Hmm..ok...Nandini" Manik said suddenly reducing the volume of the announcer announcing the next song on radio. "Tell me...what's your address?" Nandini mentioned the address to him.
"Achcha?? U are related to the Moorthys?? I remember them!" Manik said with a sudden smile on his face.
"Haan pata hai...chachi na tumko bahut pasand karte hai..aur chacha bhi!" Nandini said with a huge smile.
"Achcha?? Aur tum??" Manik asked suddenly with a naughty twinkle in his eyes and a smirk on his lips.
Nandini didn't reply but she tucked back the locks of hair falling on her face. Manik didn't get a reply but the tiny smile and the blush on her cheeks said it all. Manik swerved his car into the street.
"Haan yahan rok do! This is my home" Nandini said suddenly. Manik suddenly slowed down his car to a halt. The lights were still on. Nandini opened the car door and got out of the car.
"Ok...see you later then..I'll get your dress washed, ironed and send it to you!" Manik said suddenly.
"Manikk...aise kaise?? Andar aao aur chacha-chachi se tho milo..." Nandini said with a huge smile on her face.
"You really want me to come inside? Seeing me with you late at this night time..won't your chacha-chachi be upset?" Manik asked a bit hesitantly.
"Aiyooo nahi naaa please aao na..chachi really wants to meet you" Nandini invited once again.
"Ok..." Manik said as he opened the car door and got out. Manik and Nandini opened the gate and walked to the door. Nandini quickly pressed the door bell and leaned against the wall looking at Manik.
Shanno chachi opened the door and saw her favourite shahrukh standing outside and she was blooming with smile. 😃
"Arreee Manik betaaa andar aao naa! Nandu kahan hai? She is with you na?" Shanno chachi asked with a confused expression on her face.
" Namaste aunty...great to see you again..and aunty..Nandini idhar hai..." Manik said pointing with a little smile and Nandini moved from the wall and to the doorway quickly with a huge smile.
"Tu idhar thi...chup rahi thi kya?" chachi asked with a little complaining voice.
"Arre chup nahi rahi thiii...wait kar rahi thi...aapke reaction sunne ke liye jab aap apne Shaaahrukh ko dekhoge!" Nandini teased chachi. 😆
Chachi blushed into beetroot red as she noticed Manik also smiled shyly seeing his old aunty fan standing in front of him. ☺️☺️
"Shanno kaun hai??" Chacha asked coming down the stairs.
"Dekhiye Moorthyji kaun aaye hai hamare Nandu ke saath" Chachi said excitedly.
"Arree..Manik beta...tum?? Kaise ho??" Murthy asked with a friendly smile on his face.
"Thik hoon uncle...bas Nandini ko chodne aaya tha" Manik said with a little smile.
"Manik beta..darwaze pe kyon khade ho?? Andar aao..baitho..." Murthy invited.
"Ji uncle.." Manik said with a little smile as he walked after Murthy, Shanno and Nandini into the hallway. Manik looked around and felt that it was not just a house with walls...it was a home filled with warmth. Murthy put his arm around Manik's shoulder as he lead Manik to sit on the sofa.
"Manik..tum aajke dinner karke hi jaana!" Shanno said excitedly.
"N..Nahi aunty!! I have to leave in a few minutes..humne already dinner kar liye hai..and..." Manik started making an excuse.
"Dinner kar liye tho koi baat nahi...kam se kam mere banaaye adratwaali chai peeke jaana...bina kuch khaaye piye nahi jaane doongi!" Chachi said adamantly.
"Ji.." Manik said with a warm smile on his face as he looked at Shanno walking excitedly to kitchen with a smile.
"She is so different...so different from Nyonika...who won't give anything without taking anything from me in return and my dad never held me so warmly..the way today Nandini's chacha held me...wish...I was a part of their family..."
Nandini was full of smiles and she suddenly went up the stairs to bring Rishabh to meet Manik. Manik was enjoying the way chacha was speaking to him and asking him about him, Fab 5 and about everything related to him. This feels like home...I wish I can come here everyday..or may be live with them here.
"Ye apnapan ...ye pyaar...agar ek janam ke liye ho...tho kitna achcha hota..." Manik thought as chachi handed over the adratwali chai to Manik and Nandini and Rishabh walked and sat in the nearby chairs watching them as chachi also sat down for a little chitchat. This felt like..family😳
