CHAPTER 20 (A)
BAPPA: ALL THE BEST MANIK BETA...
Nandini's words fell on me like lightening, she left and I stood their numb. I kept staring at the steps where she was standing a few minutes back... Cabir placed his hand on my shoulder and then made me sit. I was completely under shock and spoke ... "She resigned from her job... for me..."
Finally I was realizing how immaturely I had behaved and what muddle I was in... Yet, even now I was being no different... I looked at Cabir and spoke, "How... how can she resign... I mean just for me, she abandoned her job... It's... it's not correct Cabir..."
Cabir- (sarcastically) wow Manik, you are amazing... pehle tu naraz tha ki (Imitating Manik's angry tone) Nandini ja kyun rahi hai, she doesn't care about me... (Manik lowered his head)...aur aab voh jab apni job se resign kar chuki hai toh you are feeling it is not apt... (Gave angry glare to Manik)... you have really hurt her this time...
I kept my hands on my head and didn't speak a word back; I knew I was at fault... I had hurt the girl I loved so much... my impulsive behaviour just ruined everything for the second time. Her tears were hurting me; her words were resonating in my head... and the pain on her face was now piercing my heart... I got my phone and tried calling her numerous times only to be left disappointed...
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
I left from Manik's van in tears, his words and actions had hurt me... I somehow managed to reach home, but my feet weren't moving, as inside I had to act normal as if nothing had happened. I was finding it difficult to fight my tears, but I greeted my parents by putting a fake smile and left for my room immediately... I closed the door and my tears made their way...
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
I was pacing in my vanity and was thinking how I could apologize for the grave mistake I had committed...I stopped and pleaded Mukti to call her... "Mukti, please call her, she is not taking my calls... I really wanna speak to her please..."
Mukti - ohhh so you are feeling bad about it...
"Guys please ... I really wanna speak to her... I know I have hurt her a lot... I know I am a fool, an idiot... " Tears started to well up in my eyes when her words again played in my ears -
"... Aur pehle hi step pe you didn't have faith in me..."
My eyes then fell on the two untouched lunch plates and I was gazing at them...
"Manik, yahi baat batane ke liye lunch banake layi thi tumhare liye..."
I remembered her smile when she was arranging the plates for us ... I was now cursing myself for behaving like a jerk... tears rolled on my cheeks but, a smile crept on my lips as I realized the depth of her feelings for me. I tried calling her zillion times but she did not respond and with that my heart was now sinking... Dhruv and Cabir came to my side...
"Guys... I can't... I can't live without her..."
Dhruv- Manik... (Manik was crying even more now)... Manik...calm down...
Aliya- (she held his hands) Manik, please don't cry... everything will be fine... Nandini is hurt, but she won't leave you... Just calm down...
Mukti- dammm... Nandini and Navya both are not picking my calls... (Tensed)... What are you going to do now Manik?
I got up and hugged Mukti... And then everyone hugged me... After sometime I wiped my tears and went to my dressing area to change my clothes, but now a fear inside me began to grow and that was fear of losing her... "I am going to her house."
Cabir- Manik we'll come with you...
"No Cabir, I have to do this on my own... But try calling her... let me know if you get in touch with her...Bye..." I ran towards my car and started to drive towards her home... It had grown dark and I parked my car near her house and stepped out... I messaged her...
"Nandini I am outside your house please come out... I am sorry... please speak to me once... please..."
She didn't reply... It looked like her BAPPA also wanted to punish me for my deeds, as it had started to rain. I had heard that winter rains in Delhi were always bad... but I waited for her there for more than two hours, still there was no sign of her and I started to shiver badly due to the continuous rain and harsh weather.
Just then I saw her parents leave and she was there to close the door. We both looked at each other and I stepped ahead, maybe there was some hope... She walked towards me with an umbrella and I was trying to read her expressions inspite of the rains... Her eyes had swelled due to incessant crying and I knew I was to be accused for it... Only my heart knew how much it hurt me to see her like that... She came close to me and her expressions made me fear in my place... I was completely unknown of what would happen ahead or what I would do next to cajole MY LADY...
Girls usually in such situations either kissed or gives a tight slap... But, it was Nandini in my case so the option of Kiss was out of question, so I was expecting a tight slap from her... But, what happened next left me speechless coz I forgot Nandini had unique ways of doing things.
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
I was whimpering and my phone was vibrating non-stop due to innumerous calls and messages... I picked my phone and was about to switch it off when I saw Manik's message that he was outside my house and I ran to my window to see him... He was standing there getting drenched in rain and was shivering... I felt like someone was stabbing my heart... Tears were meandering on my cheeks...
I spoke to myself... "Pata nahi kabse khada hai baarish mein...Why Manik... why are you doing this... it pains... (she was broken to seem him like that)... it pains a lot to see you like this..."
My mother was calling me from downstairs but I didn't hear her and then she came to my room... I quickly wiped my tears and faced her.
Mom- Princi kabse I am calling you beta... (Worried) are you ok?? Your eyes??? Dekh acha feel nahi ho raha toh doctor ko dikha dete hai... (Checking her forehead if she had fever).
"Mom I am fine..." Mom informed they were going to my Mausi's place as Aditi's engagement was next month followed immediately by her marriage, so they had to finalize certain things... However, I told mom I had some important work and asked her to apologize Mausi on my behalf. My mom was about to leave my room but then she turned back and spoke to me...
Mom- Princi, beta mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hai ki tu kuch chupa rahi hai mujhse... sab thik hai na beta... (A mother's heart knows if her child is pain.)
I knew mom would catch me, but it was not the right time to talk about Manik with her... "Mom sab thik hai... Trust me... And if the weather doesn't get better toh stay at Mausi's place... just inform me... I will call Navya to be with me." My parents left and then I got my umbrella and started walking towards Mr. Idiot Malhotra...
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
After seeing Nandini coming towards me I forgot I was feeling cold and was shivering... I wanted to take her in bone crushing hug and then kiss her madly ... But, then she glared at me angrily and I gulped the saliva down my throat, as I was ready to get slapped in coming milliseconds ...
But, then she handed me the umbrella and plastered my LIPS with a TAPE... I looked at her with wide eyes to grasp what she did and before I could react she took the umbrella from me and held my hand... I was about to remove the tape to speak to her and she stopped me...
Nandini- (warned Manik with anger in her voice) don't even think of removing it Manik Malhotra...
She stared at me angrily and her eyes told me that I won't be spared today... she then held my hand tightly and her long nails were digging into my skin, I winced in pain but couldn't tell her... she dragged me along with her to her room and then jerked off my hand... I was looking completely scandalized on the way she was behaving...
Before I could understand or speak, she picked up a towel and clothes, and then threw them on my face... I removed them and was trying to remove the tape again, but she yelled at me again...
Nandini- don't. (Manik was trying to say something to her)... I don't want to hear anything from you... (Manik looked at her with his eyes popped out)... go take shower...
I kept staring at her for a few seconds as I was completely zapped... MY BRAIN too freezed working, but then it started to function again as I realized she had seen my condition and couldn't see me like that in the rain... My eyes got soft and a smile crept on my lips...
But, she got irritated and roared on me again like a TIGRESS... She pushed me with her both hands and I looked at her with stunned eyes...
Nandini- (while pushing him) stop smiling ...What were you trying to by standing in the rain...
While shouting she was fighting with her tears as they were on the verge to flow, but I knew she doesn't want to show them to me... She pushed me again and I entered the washroom and she banged the gate on my face.
I was completely amazed to see THE TIGRESS inside HER'... I sighed and began to undress myself for shower... I removed the TAPE and smiled a bit staring at the tape and looked up...
"TAPE... Only Nandini you can do such a thing... BAPPA, what is this??? (I wailed like a kid)... thapad hi marne dete usse..."
I made a sad pout looking up and spoke to NANDINI'S BAPPA... "Pehle baarish aur aab iss SHERNI se kaise deal karu bataiye aap... "

BAPPA was on his way back to India and on the way he witnessed the incident... He was upset with his royally spoilt brat Manik, as he had hurt his favourite daughter... However, he knew that he had realized his mistake... His eyes were moist to see Manik standing in the rains...
BAPPA - (sad) Sorry beta I can't stop the rains as it was scheduled... (Smiled a bit) but I can surely give you some time to cajole Nandini...
He quickly arranged her parent's visit...BAPPA was also amazed to see the TIGRESS NANDINI and gulped the saliva down... as he had never seen her like that and now even he was scared of her this new avatar...
So, when Manik asked for help he answered him by saying...
BAPPA- Manik beta, even I am scared of this Tigress right now ... (He scratched his head to get an idea for Manik🤔)... hhmmm kya suggest karu...
He thought for a while and spoke again...
BAPPA - Puttar, usse tumhari singing bahut pasand hai... kya pata kaam kar jaye...Try karke dekho and yes, I have blessed you with so much charm try and use it...
BAPPA coded the idea with ALL THE BEST👍🏼...and sent it to him while he was having his shower...

I was actually feeling better coz of the hot water shower and somehow my body was getting normal... it was then I realized that how blessed I was to have her by my side and somehow the fear that I had a few hours back vanished... infact I understood that she will never leave me and with that my heart and mind both got peace...
However, it then struck me that I had to coax her... I was startled as to how scared I was of her and sighed... I began to dry myself while thinking of an idea... I spoke to myself "Manik beta jaldi kuch kar Nandini ko manane ke liye... Think...think...aarrrhhh...Dammm I can't think... (Pissed off with himself)..."
Then an idea came to my mind...Manik usse purane songs pasand hai... MY HEART suggested immediately being excited
MY HEART - how about ROOP TERA MASTANA...😳
I was startled by my hearts suggestion and sheepishly smiled on it thinking about the possibility of getting her close to me and have some intimate moments with her... my chain of thoughts were disturbed by MY BRAIN'S counter attack...
MY BRAIN- Manik ko usse manana hai, dur nahi bhagana... remember we are talking about NANDINI...
MY HEART- ohhh ya... (Little upset)
I was irritated by their suggestions and then ssshhhed them both and then sneezed 2-3 times ... However, then something came to my mind...I smirked looking into the mirror...
"Aab dekhte hai kaise nahi manti tum... Manik Malhotra's charm never fails Nandini Raichand..."
I came out and began to sneeze again as I had now caught cold... I saw her getting a glass of water for me and she forcefully made me hold it... She then spoke to me...
Nandini - (with a cold voice) medicine le lo... you have caught cold...
She popped a tablet out and was trying to give me, but I placed my other hand behind my back... She frowned and I made a puppy face... I leaned forward and opened my mouth, she gave me an angry glare and I quickly made a sad pout... She glared at me again and placed the tablet in my mouth when I had opened it again...
I took my medicine and then was handing over the glass to her and made a puppy face and fluttered my eyelashes... She was about to take the glass and I held it while looking into her eyes...
Nandini- (irritated) Leave it Manik...
"Nandini... suno na..."
