CHAPTER 14
BIN TERE...
I ran to my room as my heart was beating at such a fast pace being so closed to Manik...I locked the room behind me and closed my eyes to realize what had just happened ...I opened my eyes with a jerk as I just couldn't understand what happened to us, rather what happened to me. My phone beeped which took my attention away and there was a message by Manik-
"So Nandini you didn't answer my question...why did you come to my room and voh sab??"
I got damm nervous seeing his message and just didn't know how to reply back...so I kept my phone on the side and laid on my bed with closed eyes. My phone again beeped with a message...
"By the way next time I'll surely close the door behind so that no one barges in and distracts us while we are involved in an important work...you know what I mean... 😉 "
His this message made me hell nervous, it was so cold outside and here I was sweating due to Manik's messages... I just didn't know to react to them and I replied back saying "I don't know what you are talking about... I am sleeping..."
He immediately replied "Sleep walking suna tha, yeh sleep texting nai suna mene kabhi..."
I looked around and wasn't able to gather myself, that stupid feeling inside me was just not leaving and here Manik's messages were making me so nervous. I switched off my phone... I said to myself "What have I done... I am such a stupid... I just went and kissed him." I closed my eyes and pulled the duvet so that I sleep and refrain any thoughts...
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
I just couldn't believe that happened finally Nandini didn't step away, in fact she kissed me... I kept smiling and went off to sleep feeling her touch on my cheeks...
8:30 a.m. , LIVING AREA
We all had reached the living area for breakfast as after that we had to leave for Pune and then to Mumbai... I was desperately waiting for Nandini to come, but somewhere I knew she must have been feeling a bit awkward... I asked Mukti and Aliya to go and check on her. But, then I saw she came out wearing a pair of blue jeans and a bit lose red t-shirt with just kohl and lip-gloss. She was fiddling with her fingers while walking... I just smiled at her innocence.
Mukti- Hey good morning Nandu... Your tea and toast is ready...
Nandini- Good morning...thanks...
She sat on a couch and began to sip tea with having her bread toast. I went and sat next to her. She got shocked and then from the corner of her eye looked at me and was about to get up. I quickly placed my hand on hers and behaved normally. I knew she was again shocked to see me holding her hand. I looked at her and smirked. She got a bit angry and tried to free her hand from my grip for sometime and then gave me an angry glare. I handed her teacup to her and I knew she was in a mute mode cursing me, but I hardly cared... "Have your tea..."
I smiled as she kept giving me angry glares. I loosened my grip on her hand and began to slightly caress her knuckles. I could feel her breath was stuck in her mouth with my touch and I was enjoying it. She again frowned at me with a pout. I just wanted to kiss her that moment itself and made my grip on her hand again tight. Then Sarah came and Nandini looked at me with pleading eyes and I left her hand.
Sarah- Hey Nandini your bag is packed? We'll put it in the car...
Nandini- ha Sarah I'll just get it...
Everyone else had started to place their luggage in the cars and then I went to Cabir... "Cabir I'll b back...just take care around here...ok"
Cabir- go... I'll handle here... by the way I need to know everything in detail...ok😉
"Thanks..."
I had sent Mohan to get her bag and then I saw her coming out of her room I pulled her inside my room and closed the door behind us. She was shocked to see me. I placed my both hands around her side and she protested...
Nandini - Manik kya hai... (Irritated)
I was lost in her eyes and then said " kuch nai...just wanted to see you..."
Nandini- let me go Manik...
I took a step ahead and tucked her hair behind her ear... I lifted her face by her chin and then started to get a bit close to her lips... I was almost there when her phone began to ring... She picked her phone and I muttered to myself being irritated "Perfect timing." She pushed me a bit and I spoke being a bit startled with her action "What..." She gave me an angry glare...
Nandini- Ya Devika I am coming... Ha I'll sit in Aryan's car.
I again looked at her as I was pissed off and spoke "you will sit with me in my car... Come fast" I opened the door and went ahead... I said to myself "Aryan, Aryan... dare he comes next to her..."
I got her bag in my car and then we were waiting for her to come... I got in my car and then I saw her going to other car and that made my temper rise... I saw her from the rear mirror and pressed the accelerator and that made a bit of noise... I looked at her with anger. I kept pressing the accelerator and looked away from the mirror.
Then she came and opened the back door and took the seat behind me. That got my nerves a bit relaxed and started the car... After a while I looked at her from the mirror and she still looked a bit angry. I smiled seeing her. Then our eyes met and she glared at me angrily and I chuckled.
All through the journey we kept stealing glances of each other... Then after dropping Devika at Pune we decided to have coffee break. I wanted Nandini to speak to me...She was sitting just next to me and she purposely kept her both hands on the table... I got a bit irritated and then smirked... I pretended to be innocent and began to humm a few lines from a song...
Raat nashili mast samah hai
Aaj nashe mein sara jaha hai
(Nandini was shocked to hear these lines and looked at me with a shocked expression... It was drizzling outside and here she had sweat beads on her forehead after I sang two lines... I smirked...)

Cabir - wowww Manik aaj toh tu Kishore Kumar ban gaya kisi ke liye...
FAB 5 chuckled and Nandini was getting more conscious, her friends couldn't understand why she was having those expressions... Sarah asked her...
Sarah - Nandini tumhe garmi lag rahi hai??? (with a confused look)
Nandini- nahi toh... (confused look)
Sarah - then why are you sweating... (Pointing towards her forehead)
Nandini touched her forehead and was shocked to see the sweat beads...
I pretended to be normal and asked her again "Ha Nandini, kya hua??? " ... She gave me a look I'LL KILL YOU MANIK' and then wiped her forehead... We began our journey to Mumbai, but Nandini's Angry Young Girl' expression was still there on her face... Then her phone rang and she smiled...
Nandini- Hi mom, did you reach home??? (hearing her mom...) ok...(mom other side) Mom par Delhi kyun??? (a bit tensed)
I saw the worry on her face and was waiting for her call to end to ask her the matter...
Nandini- Mom, but why... I mean... fine...
She disconnected the call and I saw she looked a bit disappointed. I indicated Aliya to speak to her.
Aliya- Nandini what's the matter?? Is everything fine??
Nandini- (gave a weak smile to her) yes Aliya...
She didn't speak anything for the rest of the journey and kept looking outside the window... We reached her home first and she got down... We all stepped out too...
Nandini- Thank you so much guys... it was a lovely trip... I will always remember this trip for life...
She hugged everyone except me and then Cabir spoke...
Cabir - Nandini kya baat hai... Are you going to Delhi to meet your parents ya koi aur baat hai???
She looked at me and I could see a bit of disappointment in her eyes... He silence was raising the anger inside me... She then looked at Cabir.
Nandini- Cabir I am leaving tomorrow morning for Delhi... Voh...my parents have chosen a boy for my marriage and I have to go and meet him.
I felt like everything slipped from my hands when she spoke those words... My anger had reached its peak... Everyone sensed it and stepped a bit aside... She finally looked at me.
Nandini - Bye Manik...
She turned to leave and I lost it... I held her wrist and made her turn towards me... I held her both arms and looked into her eyes...
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
I was a bit angry with Manik as he left no chance to irritate me and I was getting angry on him... but I didn't stop him... when he held my hand, when he pulled me in his room, when he made me sit in his car and when he was singing the lines of that song... I just didn't protest, maybe somewhere I didn't want to...
When my mother spoke to me that I have to meet a boy tomorrow in Delhi the first thing that crossed my mind was MANIK'... I looked at him through the mirror and saw his concerned eyes... I just didn't know what was hurting me deep inside... Why I was thinking about Manik... I just didn't know...
When I told Cabir about my Delhi visit, I saw Manik was completely shocked as if everything was slipping from his hands... I saw pain in his eyes... I spoke to him "Bye Manik..."
I turned and he held my wrist and pulled me towards him and held my both arms... His eyes were red and they had anger, pain and it showed me how hurt he was... He kept looking at me intensely... His grip on my arms got more tight and it was now hurting me... I looked at him again and I saw his eyes had so many questions in it... And I had no answers... I could see tears had welled up in the corner of his eyes, but he didn't let them out... In turn his grip on my arms got even more tight and now it was hurting me beyond tolerance... and I winced with pain...
"Aaahhh...Manik it's hurting me..."
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
I was hurt, deeply hurt...how could she think of getting married to anyone else. I wanted to ask her and her silence was killing me... My grip on her got more tight and then she winced in pain...
Nandini - Aaahhh...Manik it's hurting me...
And then I finally spoke to her "Hurt..."
She looked at me with a blank expression...
She kept looking at me and I saw she was hurt too... I spoke again... "Hurt...So, nothing happened between us..."
Nandini- (a irritated) nothing happened between us...
"Ya right...nothing happened..."
I jerked her away as i had lost my patience and my anger was out...she was shocked... I was angry on her, I wanted to shout on her... how could she... I gave a sarcastic smile to her... I spoke to all "Let's leave..."
Cabir tried to stop me and I stopped them from speaking... I went and sat in the car... Everyone sat too... I knew she was looking at me... I looked at her from the corner of my eyes and I saw she was crying...
I started the car and in the entire journey I didn't speak to anyone, the girl I loved was going tomorrow to meet someone else... I was completely shattered... We reached my flat and I went straight to my apartment... Cabir placed his hand on my shoulder... And I broke the flower vas as I wanted my pain to be out... Cabir stopped me and then I hugged him... I started to cry...
Cabir- Manik... Relax... sab thik ho jayega... We'll find a way out...
"Cabir there is nothing left... I thought she started to feel for me... I was wrong...she doesn't like me..."
I was shattered and sat on the floor... FAB 5 hugged me and tried to console me... Dhruv had called up my parents on the way and they were out of town for a business meet.
My Dad called me...
Dad- Manik you can't give up like this... You are my son... Get a grip of yourself...
"But Dad..."
Dad- Manik you won't give up ok... Don't give up on her... Go get her son...
"Dad she won't go against her parents...sab khatam ho gaya..."
DAD- Manik it's not the end till it ends... You are my son...Be strong.
My Dad's words made a bit better, but the fear of losing Nandini was too much... I don't know why but I called up Aarav...
Aarav- Hi Manik... How are you????
"Aarav..."
Aarav- Manik what's the matter?? (worried)... Nandini...Is she fine...
"Aarav...voh..."
I couldn't speak to him and then Cabir took the phone from me and spoke to Aarav and explained the entire situation to him.
Aarav- Cabir...this isn't good...it's not right... Give the phone to Manik...
Aarav- you are the biggest idiot I have come across... (angry)
"Aarav..." (his words made me a bit angry)
Aarav- now don't get angry and answer me..."
He asked me a few questions...
Aarav- hhhmmm you are the biggest fool i have come acroos in my life...

He spoke to Manik and then Manik got a faint smile on his lips...
He kept the phone down and FAB 5 asked him what happened... he went to his room and FAB 5 followed him...
He got Nandini's picture from his bedside table... "NANDINI".
DELHI-
Nandini reaches Delhi and meets her family... She gets ready to meet the parents and the Boy her parents has chosen for her... She wasn't happy and just kept on thinking about Manik...
