CHAPTER 13
SHADES OF PINK HAD ARRIVED: ISHQ HAI...
We both were lost in each other's eyes after the dance and our trance was broken by Aliya's sneeze. We both felt a bit awkward and then to save us from the difficult spot Cabir came in.
Cabir- well baarish kafi dheere ho gayi hai ...the farmhouse is just 20 minutes away...we all will catch cold... so let's move ahead...
We headed to our cars and then reached the farmhouse. The rain had finally stopped, but since we were all drenched I quickly ordered Mohan (the care taker) to show everyone their rooms and arrange for tea/coffee's... Nandini's room was just opposite to mine. Everyone was tired and we decided to meet after a quick nap.
I took shower and then after changing to my tracks and vests, I settled comfortably on the bed and was remembering the moments I had spent with Nandini today...I was feeling good...I thought to myself " finally she didn't step away from me like before...maybe there is hope and I just need to be positive and keep this hope alive... I will never let you go Nandini..."
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
I took my shower and then changed... I was looking into the mirror while brushing my hair and I remembered the moments I spent with Manik...I was smiling like a fool and felt something weird...It was some new feeling inside me, I had never felt like that before...All I could do is just think about Manik, I just couldn't think about anything else...
I went and sat near the window with my diary and started to write, but couldn't... I just couldn't stop thinking about Manik and I closed my diary and was irritated with myself..."Bappa, what's wrong with me, why am I thinking about Manik so much..." I thought I should rest for a while and maybe then I'll be able to get him out of my mind... Within a few minutes I went off to sleep...
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
8:15 P.M., LIVING ROOM, FARMHOUSE
Everyone after the nap had gone to explore the areas around farmhouse. But I didn't get a chance to be alone with Nandini... We came back to the farmhouse and then after freshening up everyone came to the living area... I was looking at Nandini and a smile came on my face and then our eyes met for a while...Dhruv and Cabir came to me...
Cabir- Manik you know na we planned this trip to get you both a bit closer... And after your dance today seems like its working... (He teased me)
Dhruv- Cabir, but I feel yeh formal baaton se kuch nai hoga...Manik; I really think you should speak to Nandini or atleast drop a hint to her that you love her...
Hearing this I blushed...
Cabir- Bro this blushing won't help you ok... buck up... Dhruv is right...kuch toh kar RAJ, pata chala tu blush karta reh gaya aur teri SIMRON ko PARIMEET le gaya apne saath... (DDLJ)
I gave a deadly glare to Cabir...But I think he was right...I thought to myself "Why the hell I am so scared of her...I really need to do something, maybe drop some hint for her..."
Aliya- Guys, bonfire for us will be ready in 15 minutes... come soon...dinner and drinks are outside too...
The bonfire was ready and after having dinner everyone sat around it with drinks... Nandini was sitting opposite to me with Sarah and Kafeel. Our eyes did meet a few times and we smiled... The conversation amongst us was about our new film's music launch and our future concerts...this is when Sarah and Sam insisted that we should sing...
Sam- Guys please, when would we get a chance to listen to you all...I have been to your concert before...but aaj toh mauka bhi hai...kuch toh suna do...
I wasn't that willing to sing as my mind was more engrossed in finding a way to get close to Nandini... Then Sarah spoke.
Sarah- Manik, please sing...acha ek kaam karo imagine karlo that you are singing for your someone special...
Her imagination part of the request made me sit straight and without thinking I looked at Nandini...
Sarah- (in a teasing way) vaise Manik koi hai kya...
I was blushing and my cheeks turned red... Of course I had my someone special and she was sitting right opposite to me...FAB 5 were giggling too...
Mukti- Ok...wait I'll get the guitar and Cabir you can use those empty water drums...Aliya there is a small keyboard inside, I'll ask Mohan to get it...
Mukti and Dhruv got into arranging some instrument for us...
Devika- Guys can you sing Pehli Nazar mein...' please...
Aryan- no yaar... some other one Manik... hey how about that one... voh jo Nands ka favourtie hai...which one was it Nands...
Nandini- aahhhmmm voh Aakhen teri...'
I was startled when she said the name of the song coz I was planning to sing the same for her...I smiled "ok..." I don't know why but I decided to change the scale of the song a bit... I closed my eyes and remembered when I met Nandini for the first time and it were her eyes that made me believe her...Every moment I spent with her and how I started to fall for her flashed in front of my eyes... And a smile crept on face. And then I opened my eyes to look at Nandini...
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
I was really looking forward to Manik singing that song, as it was my favourite... But when Manik started to play his guitar it was completely different from the original track...he even changed the lyrics... He was looking at me while singing... I looked down, as I was feeling a bit shy...

(Manik closed his eyes and remembered when he saw Nandini for the first time smiling at Akshay's Haldi ceremony, the day he had fallen for her deeply, when he felt she completes him...He opened his eyes and gazed at Nandini again...)

He was crying... His voice had pain...his voice had a longing for the girl he loved deeply and passionately, the girl he wanted to be with forever...)

WRITER'S POINT OF VIEW-
Each one of them was spellbound with FAB 5's performance and mainly by Manik's voice... A voice that had so much of depth that would touch your heart and make you fall in love with his music.
Everyone got up and hugged FAB 5 except Nandini as she kept looking at Manik and her tears didn't stop...Although, Manik wiped his tears when others came to him and he too hugged them back... He then saw Nandini was still sitting there with tears that didn't stop to flow; she had no expressions on her face... This got Manik a bit worried...He wanted to be with her... However, everyone came around him and then all of them took him inside...Devika did ask Nandini to come along...
Nandini- I'll come in sometime...
Nandini felt an emotional turmoil inside her and just couldn't understand what was it... the words ISHQ HAI kept ringing in her head... That unknown feeling she felt earlier in the day was there again...
On the other hand everyone inside made ways to their room. Manik then asked Devika about Nandini...
Manik- Devika where is Nandini... (Worried)
Devika- Manik relax, she's fine...she said she will come in sometime...don't worry she's ok...
After that Manik went to his room but was feeling a bit low after seeing Nandini with tears...
NANDINI'S POINT OF VIEW-
After everyone left I touched my cheeks and realized I had been crying all this while... I remembered how Manik too had tears while singing... A thought came to my mind... "Was he singing for me...?" And I sighed, "What am I thinking..." My mind and my heart were all full of his thoughts and I started to walk towards my room...
I was about to enter my room when I heard Manik's voice and don't know why I started to walk to his room...His door was open and he was on the phone... I just went inside... I was completely lost in him...
MANIK'S POINT OF VIEW-
After coming to my room I received a call from my dad and I was saying him good night when I saw Nandini came into my room and stood in front of me... I was a bit stunned by seeing her... I was about to say something... But, she placed her finger on my lips and shook her head slightly in a NO'... I was lost in her eyes... She then came a bit close to me and we kept looking into each other's eyes...
Nandini then removed her finger from my lips and kissed me on my cheek, I was completely shocked... She then turned to the other side and kissed me on the other cheek... I closed my eyes to feel her touch, her first kiss...I opened my eyes and then saw her eyes were closed, I placed my hand slightly around her waist and she shivered with my touch...
I kissed her forehead and then her eyes... I slightly pulled her by her waist more close to me... She then kissed me on my forehead and I pressed my fingers on her waist a bit more and her breath became uneven... I began to come close to her lips. Nandini's petite figure was trembling in my arms and I made my hold firm around her waist to support her...our lips were just a few inches apart...
Our moment was spoilt by some voices in the corridor... We realized how close we were and that's when FAB 5 entered my room... we both stepped away from each other to hide the embarrassment...
Mukti- Nandini thank God we found you...we were all looking for you...
She didn't reply to her...I could understand her situation..."Guys, voh Nandini just came to say Good night to me..." Cabir then gave me suspicious look and came close to me...
Cabir -Why is she so conscious??? Ek minute kuch hua kya???
I blushed after hearing it...
Cabir- (smiled) ok...mein sabko leke jata hun you continue... (winked)
Cabir stepped away from me and then indicated others to leave...we both were again alone in the room...Nandini too started to walk towards the door... "Nandini..." She stopped but didn't turn. I went close to her and closed the door... She was a bit shocked and turned to look at me and I smirked...I went close to her again and she stepped back only to find there was door behind her...I placed my both hands on both sides and came close to her...She wanted to speak but her voice wasn't supporting her...
I placed my hand on her cheek and with my thumb caressed it...I just kept looking at her luscious lips and then came to close to her ...I saw she was trembling with nervousness...She closed her eyes tight and her hands took the support of the door... I smiled looking at her condition and then realized she isn't ready to get kissed... so I pecked on her cheek and removed my hands from the side... She opened her eyes and was looking at me with a shocked expression... I smirked at her, which I guess annoyed her a bit and she pouted in annoyance...
I finally spoke to her "Were you expecting something else...Nandini don't give such expressions, I won't be able to control myself..." Hearing this her eyes became wider and she immediately pressed her lips inside... I chuckled and then decided to tease her a bit; I composed myself again and then spoke "Nandini vaise tum yaha mere room mein...raat ko..."
She looked away from me and the ever so confident Nandini had no answer...I continued ahead... "aur yeh sab jo hua between us... I mean tum aayi aur...kiss..." I stretched the word KISS purposely...She looked at me and then while answering she stammered...
Nandini- voh...voh...voh mein...tumhe (paused to think) Good...Good Night kehne ke liye aayi thi...
I tried to control myself from laughing loud... "Really good night...ya kuch aur..." She got a bit irritated.
Nandini- kuch aur kya...aur kuch nai hai...(she thought for a while) ha voh you sang well today...
"Ok...toh yeh sab meri singing ke liye tha..."
Nandini- no... I mean...(she closed her eyes for a second and then opened again) I am feeling sleepy I have to go bye.
Before I could say anything she turned to open the door and ran away... I stood there and was smiling...I ruffled my hair and my heart was jumping with joy... "Nandini..." I looked up and said "Thanks Bappa..."😉
