She was a broken doll.The previous nights incidents broke her into a million little pieces and she didn't have courage and strength to put those pieces back together and she knew even if she did,She'll break the next second itself.Her world had turned upside down and all she could do was helplessly wait for things to be all right,But deep down she nothing will ever be the same again,It was all over.She wanted to cry out loud but couldn't,She wanted to tell someone what she was going through but she didn't know whom to say,Her life was a mess.
"Nandu.."She heard a very familiar voice,She turned back to see Dhruv,her best friend.She just hugged him as tight as she could.Dhruv was a bit shocked."Nandu..what happened?everything is all right na."He asked with concern.
How could she tell him,Nothing was all right.She was dying little by little,every minute,every second.But she just Hmmed because she didn't know what to say.She broke the hug and looked away.
Dhruv was her best friend from 9 years and he knew something wasn't right.He turned her towards him and her eyes red and swollen."Won't you tell your Dhruvie what happened?"He asked.
"I told na..Nothing happened..I'm missing Mom..it's been so many days since I have seen her.."She lied and Dhruv knew she was lying but he didn't want to force her.He took a deep breath and started.
"Nandu,I know you for a very long time now..I know you are lying and aunty had been here just a few days back...I know something isn't right...my Nandu is hurt..something has happened last night,because I called you so many times yesterday but you didn't pick up and you didn't even come to collage today and now...I know something is worrying which you are not able to express but I know when the right time comes you will tell me."He said smilingly.
Nandini couldn't be anymore thankful to god for a best friend like Dhruv.She weakly smiled back at him."That's like a good girl...Now come let's go to your favourite coffee shop.."He said as he walked towards the door."Dhruv..I don't want to go."She said softly."We are going and thats final."Dhruv said pulling her out of her apartment.
They reached The Algerian coffee shop,And sat in the corner table,like they would everytime they would go the.Dhruv was ordering there coffee's."Dhruv..I go to the washroom and be back."Nandini said and walked towards the washroom lost in her thoughts when she bumped into some one.
She was about to fall down when a strong pair of hands held her safely.She closed her eyes out of fear.She slowly opened her eyes as she felt a warm touch on her waist.She saw the same man who had saved her yesterday night.She stood back on your feet.
"you again?"He asked."Are you blind or are you doing this wantedly.Yesterday you were about to be hit by the car and today you bump into me."He asked in a husky tone."I am sorry...I didn't mean it."Nandini said softly.
Dhruv was waiting for Nandini for quit long now but she didn't come back from the washroom.He got worried and walked towards the washroom,just then he saw Nandini talking to someone and was relived."What yaar Nandu..what are you doing,I was so tensed."He said as he went near them.
"I am sorry Dhru..."Before Nandini could complete Dhruv saw the man and smiled."Manik?"
"Hey Dhruv.."The man greeted Dhruv and a confused look."Nandu..He joined our collage today..He is in our class..Manik."Dhruv explained and I just gave a weak smile."And she is Nandini..My best friend."Dhruv said proudly.
"What are you doing here?come with your girlfriend eh?"Dhruv asked and laughed.Manik gave an irritated look."Dhruv...I already told you,I don't have a girlfriend...and I came here because I was getting bored at home."He said.
"Oh..ok..why don't you join us then?"Dhruv asked looking at Nandini to which she just smiled."Sure"Manik said.
They sat down and started sipping their coffee.Dhruv and Manik kept on talking while Nandini was silently sipping her coffee.After about half an hour,"Ok guys..I got to go..I'll catch you guys tomorrow at collage."He stood to get up."Nice meeting you Nandini.."He said and left.
"Dhruv..I'll just be back.."Nandini said and followed Manik."Manik.."she called out.He turned and Nandini walked up to him.
"Thank you for yesterday."
