Very nice update. Manik her situation mai fab 5 ka khayal rakhta hai he's like a diamond best friend best boyfriend best grand son but he's in pain. Hope sub juldi theak hujae. So cabir is a donor that's great.

Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 104

Someone said it is in the darkest of nights we see the brightest stars. Life never closes all doors to us; true prayers never go unanswered. It might take time but goodness always pays back all you to do is keep the faith and never let your faith waiver it.

It had been a long and tiring day for both Manik and Nandini and they finally found peace in each other. Nandini's words worked as ointment for Manik's scarred heart. "Nandini you know what ever since childhood Dhruv's and Cabir's mother has been playing mother to me after DJ. Every year on my birthday Cabir's mom used to bake cake for me and all my friends and DJ, Cabir's and Dhruv's mom used to celebrate my birthday as the biggest festival of their life but the woman who brought me to this world never even remembered my birthday except my 18^th when she lost the property to me. Then why why am I feeling so bad on her not being in my life; I should be happy on her being gone but I am not."

Manik's voice choked on remembering what was supposed to be every child's happy memory but unfortunately Manik's worst. Nandini looked upto Manik and kissed his forehead "Manik if you want to believe in something believe in the fact that you are the best son any mother could have and unfortunately Neyonika was your mother so you're bound to feel bad and its okay you don't have to feel bad." He smiled and hid her in is embrace. "And yes don't you dare feel guilty that you have let me down or else I will kill you?" Manik chuckled at Nandini's statement and slowly drifted into sleep.

Just as they were in deep slumber Abhi came running "Manik. Manik wake up." He woke Manik up and manik sat with a jerk with fear written all over his face. "Abhi is everything ok na DJ she's fine right." Abhi smiled and said "Relax Manik we have found a donor." "what we do?" Manik couldn't what he was hearing. "who is it?" he asked to which abhi replied "that's a secret as per hospital policy. Now let's go doctor wants us." Manik looked at Nandini and kissed her forehead as she was in deep slumber due to meds. "You were right Nandini DJ can't leave me alone." He adjusted her properly and walked off.

Manik and Abhi joined Damini in doctor's chamber where he briefed them about the procedure and asked them to sign a few papers. Manik insisted on knowing the donor's name but the doctor refused to reveal. Finally after completing all the formalities they were asked to wait out where DJ will be moved to OR. They all came out to find Alya and Dhruv back from police station. "so have you?" Manik was hesitant in asking Alya but she understood and replied "no Manik I didn't got him out on bail. He had done a mistake and he has to pay for it." Manik gave a faint smile and they buried the topic there.

"hey where's Cabir?" Manik asked. "Cabir had to go out of Mumbai. He had got a call from someone and he left saying he's out of town and don't know when he will be back and phone will also be off." Manik was puzzled by Cabir's absence as it was very unlike him to just leave Manik and especially DJ in this condition as Manik knew how attached he was to her calling her partner'. As Manik decided to call his mom he saw DJ being wheeled out. They all bid their good bye to DJ as she was taken in the OR and thus started counting the longest hours and minutes of their lives.

It was 6 in the morning two hours since the surgery has started. Damini was sitting in front of the ganpati idol with folded hands praying for DJ and thanking the unknown savior sent by god. Abhi and Mukti sat with hands entwined and Abhi's head on Mukti's shoulder; it was supposed to be the best day of their lives but unfortunate turn of events made it their worst nightmare. Alya and Dhruv were with Nandini as Manik didn't want to leave her alone. And Manik he was pacing up and down the corridor angry, hurt, nervous and scared. He was feeling a cocktail of emotions which threatened to drown him but he couldn't let that happen; he knew he needed to be strong, strong for Nandini, Fab5, his family and himself.

It was around 8 am when Nandini walked into the surgical floor with her discharge papers in hand."Manik." he truned to see her alright and smiling. She came near to him and Manik said "Nandini I think you should go home and rest." Nandini smiled and said "Manik I am fine it was a small accident but I am fine and do you think I will be able to rest knowing DJ's condition." Manik smiled as he knew she would always put him and people he loves ahead of herself. "By the way Manik who is the donor? And where is Cabir?" Nandini asked looking around. "We don't know who is the donor and Cabir had some mystery emergency so he's out of Mumbai. That is so unlike Cabir. He never does that." Nandini gave Manik a smile as she knew where Cabir was and thanked aiyappa for sending a friend like Cabir in Mnaik's life.

Finally the surgery got over and the doctor came out to deliver the happy news to the anxious waiting souls. "congratulations the surgery was successful but she will have to be under lot of care as her age is not very supportive for a transplant." Damini came forward and said "her care is my responsibility doctor you don't have to be worried. But for how long she will have stay in the hospital?" Doctor replied "well she will have to stay at least 7 days and I will give you the complete guidance of her care including her food. Right now we will be shifting her to ICCU where you all can meet her once she is up." Soon DJ was wheeled into ICCU and they all sat there waiting for her open eyes. Manik had send Mukti, Dhruv and Alya to rest and come back later but Nandini refused to leave him as she could sense there was discomfit in Manik.

As everyone sat discussing how to take care of DJ Manik was unusually calm. It was an open secret how much Manik loved DJ; before Nandini came into his life his world revolved around DJ and Fab5 and his silence was bothering Nandini. Suddenly he got up and said "badi maa I will be back. Going out for some work." And before anyone could ask him anything he zoomed out.

It was early evening when DJ finally opened her eyes putting everyone's heart to rest and bringing smiles on their faces. They all rushed into her room and she looked at them and said "I am fine kids." Abhi smiled and said "of course you had to be fine for all of us." Damini too chipped in "maa hum kitna darr gaye the pata hai aapko. Ab aap bas jaldi se theek ho jao." Mukti said "of course DJ you have recover fast arre pending party poori karni hai na." DJ burst out in her trade mark smirk making everyone happy.

Then she saw Nandini, she was looking week with a bandage on her forehead. Her feeble sight made her heart ache. She was teary "I am sorry beta I." but before she could say anything Nandini stopped her and said "DJ please I have said earlier also you are only allowed to bless me not say sorry or thank you. Everything is fine and what matters is ends well so all is well." DJ smiled and asked looking all around "where's Manik?"

"I am here." Manik said entering the room. "Manik I am sorry beta." DJ said with tears in her eyes as Manik stood there watching her cry leaving everyone shocked as they knew Manik could see anything but her tears. "Waise Manik tu gaya kahan tha." Dhruv asked. "To cremeate Neyonika" Manik's replied made everyone silent and stunned DJ. "What? Neyonika is?" Dj could not complete her sentence. "Yes DJ Neyonika my evil mother is dead, you almost died, Nandini got kidnapped, hurt, I almost lost her, Abhi and Mukti's day got ruined, everyone hates Navya why because you said Manik don't do anything. Don't spoil Abhi's day with you anger and trouble. Look your be calm attitude got us where."

Everyone in the room was stunned by Manik's outburst. DJ was crying "Manik I am sorry. Beta please I didn't knew it would turn out like this." "Well how could you not DJ!" Manik almost screamed "Didn't you knew Neyonika or Harshad then how could you but no you choose to ignore and labeled me a trouble maker." "Manik!" Abhi tried to stop him "Shut up Abhi I am talking to her." The rage in his voice and anger in his eyes threatened to burn everything. "Neyonika died DJ. My mother is dead. Even though she was never a mother to me but she is still the person who gave birth to me and she she is dead. She is dead. Gone forever."

Manik was sobbing like a kid who lost everything to a tragedy. His pain made every eye in the room misty and DJ knew she had done a mistake for which Manik will never forgive her but she didn't anticipated the kind punishment he would give himself for her mistake. "you did not trust me DJ for once you didn't trust me. You think I create troubles right, you think I am impulsive right? Tell me?" DJ was crying hard, Manik was a piece or rather her heart. She saw her son in him and today she stood guilty of breaking him down and hurting him albeit unintentially but she did.

"You broke my trust DJ by not trusting me. You thought I will ruin their day and look what all did you ruin. I almost lost you and Nandini and you still didn't trust me." Manik's words tore her heart into pieces. "Manik!" Manik signaled his hand and stopped her from speaking but by now Nandini had enough "Manik stop it you are blaming DJ for something Neyonika did." "I am blaming her for not trusting me Nandini." He then turned to DJ and said "Is this the only thing you knew about me DJ, you knew I was right about Neyonika and Navya but no you think I just get angry and creat trouble right."

"Manik I am sorry beta. I know I did a mistake. I know you are angry but Manik please." DJ cried as she apologized to him. "you taught me everything and you didn't believe in me. But now I won't create anymore trouble for you. I want you safe and healthy DJ. I love you too much to see you like this. So I've decided to move out of Malhotra Mansion." Manik announced.

His announcement left everyone shocked."Manik what are you saying? I know you are hurt but?" Damini tried to talk to him but Mnaik said "No badi maa I have decided on this I have already brought a new house and I am moving in tonight but I will be there for you all and DJ but this is the last time I spoke to her and this is our last conversation. Take care DJ." Manik looked away and said to Nandini "Are you coming with me I need your help. I am waiting in car." Manik walked out without even looking back leaving everyone shocked.

After a while Nandini wiped her tears and said "he needs me DJ I am sorry but I can't leave Manik alone now.' Nandini walked out to support the man she loved although she didn't wanted to but she knew she was the only one who could fix him and his relationship with DJ. "He will never forgive me. I lost him." DJ was crying when the doctor walked in and looking at her condition asked everyone to leave at once and gave her sedatives to put her to sleep.

Everyone breakes our trust, that's ok and we kind of expect it but what hurts is when the people who matter to us refuse to trust us. There is no big heart break than the one given by our loved ones, there is no bigger betrayal than one for whom we would die pulls the trigger to kill us coldly.
