Chapter 7:
After their lite meals and relaxing leaning on tree trunk.
Manik :haan nandini? Yeh kaise clue hai?
Nandini :manik, its a puzzle. Aise hee hote hain. Let us read it carefully.
Manik :hm... tuje saach mein lagte hain kuch meliga ?
Nandini :haan
Both starts reading it again and again
Nothing is there. It's a crap. Leave it Nandini.
Manik : How rain will be down ? And in front of us way will be ?
Everything is closed here. Then ?
Nandini : haan, but manik.
Manik : what manik ? Suno Nandini, don't waste your time on this. Find some other way out of here. This paper has nothing to do with it.
Nandini in silence. Manik starts looking around.
After sometime, ( its already dawn and night moonlight is over them )
Manik : Nandini, tumhe kuch mila hai kya ?
Nandini simply nodding her head up and down in response of yes.
Manik : what ? You found the way ? Then why didn't you tell till I ask ?
Nandini : you think I'm dumb ? Right ? So, I thought Mr.Genius will find it
Manik : haan, of course you are dumb.
Nandini : (with sarcasm )haan manik sir, you are genius.
Manik : I know I am born genius. Leave about it. Just tell what did you find.
Nandini ( in anger ) : let genius find by themselves. Why me ? Hai na?
Manik : okay, I didn't mean to tell that you are dumb. I was just kidding. Now tell, I wana get out of this place. Can't stay all night here.
Nandini : aha ! ( still not convinced with manik words ) okay, let me check how genius you are. You know what? Answer is in this puzzle itself. Find it yourself.
Manik : ( irritating look ) what da ? Is it necessary ? Common yaar ? What is this Nandini ?
Nandini just stares at him as if conveying something with her looks.
Manik understands what she is expecting.
Manik : what now ? You want me to have some courtesy and say sorry to you ? Are you expecting that from me ?
Nandini : (with a shrug) when you understand then why to ask again, just go on.
Manik ( with his brow high ) : seriously ? Do you think it would happen Ms. Murthy ? (And smiles)
Then you have to thank me all time and say sorry everytime.
Nandini : why ? What you did so great ?
Manik : remember in school I saved you from English teacher;your maths exam paper - how poor you are in maths; that night when I met you,;on your birthday while coming home and many more, night rides with FRIENDS is all because of me,... ( manik keeps telling list )
Nandini: enough now, enough. And I'm not that poor in maths, I'm okay.
Manik :( laughing) then tell me 12 table now.
Nandini :(in a affable tone) just shut up manik. Speak something important. This is the clue of path.
Look up here.
Manan, starts looking upwards so that they can find something.
Manik : hai kya yeha ?
Nandini : (pointing towards bark of a tree ) look, there is a passage from the tree, we can climb and there is some way along. Can you see that ? ( pointing on high branch )
Manik : uff , lagta hain ki yeha kuch bhi nai hai. This is waste of time.
Nandini : time waste hahahha manik aur bhi kuch important kaam hai kya karne ke liye? chup chap search karo, kaha se ye shuru hora hai .
After searching 30min nandini found out where it is
Nandini: manik waha deko waha ,
From one of the branch, there begins a path. Just like ladders but they are tree parallel and alternative to each other, showing high point ( showing a path from there)
(just imagine this ladder is somewhere in the middle of tree )
Manik :( as branches look like stairs for manan)uff kaun rakta hain waha koyi, ghada hi hoga wo. oh my god ! dekho, kitne height mein hain yeh , waise nandini tumhari nazar bahut sharp hain.
Nandini :wo tho hain,. I'm not an oaf like you ( she makes funny faces with tongue out , )
(Looking at her being like a kid, manik blushes , literally couldn't keep away his eyes out of her)
Manik :okay,okay ab bus karo, yeh socho tum kaise ched paogi waha,.
Nandini :simple, tum mujhe utalo., hogaya simple.
Manik : ( with widen eyes ) Nandini ? Are you mad ? There is no hospital here nearby.
Nandini : (in doubt) why you need hospital ?
Manik : tumhe utane ke baad wahi jaana hoga na .. ( bursts into laugh )
Nandini placing her hands on waist, says manik ! And her face becomes low and she sits down on ground.
Manik: okay, okay. Leave. Uto..ab
She turns her face aside and puts a dull face.
Manik : Nandini, utjao na.
She nodds left to right indicating no.
Manik : (gets compromised ) chalo, I'm sorry Ms. Nandini murthy. Ab tho ut jao na.
Nandini smiles to herself,
Nandini : hold your ears and say sorry.
Manik : what ? Common, I said u know, I said sorry and its not enough.
Nandini : no,
( sudden change in climate all around, night turning to darkness, moonlight getting dim and manan have little notice )
Manik : tum aati ho r should I leave ? Even it is turning fortnight.
With stubborness she sits there.
Manik get along branches and starts moving.
Nandini pov : go, i dont need ur help.these guys ego na, can't leave their ego at any cost. She finds herself alone and it starts getting more darker.
Nandini is getting scared with increasing darkness as she is alone. Almost after 15mins, she starts crying out of fear very silently as darkness surrounded the entire place.
Then a bright light appears front of her, that is manik with a flower which glows so bright in his hand.
Nandini looking at him, hugs him so tightly.
Manik shirt turns wet with her tears. Manik feels guilty to leave her alone and hugs her tightly. Consoling her, " Its okay nandu, I'm here with you, shhh, don't cry, I'm here. Don't be scared, I'm there for you, I went to get light for you. ".
Nandini with her two hands strike him on his chest, how could you go, leaving me all alone here. Batake nai jaa sakte. I'm scared because of you.
Manik holding his ears and says sorry from his heart, out of concern and care for her.
Nandini being pleased with it, embraces him again with all love in her heart. This embrace lasts very long and none to disturb now.

All her fear vanishes and she sits down along with manik placing her hands around his, wiping her tears.
( she couldn't stand for few minutes without him in darkness while could stay whole previous night searching way to find tree house with manik )
Manik : ( to divert her ) if mukti was here, she should have given you a big party.
Nandini : why ? Why like that?
Manik : yaad hai ? You both kept a bet on me on farewell night. You will make me, tell you sorry at least once. And there was huge argument.
Nandini : ( with small smile ) Haaan ! Kabir provoked me alot and dhruv started enjoying the drama. Bechari Aaliya, tried a lot to stop us. And smiles again.
Manik : hmm. Between till now you didn't tell me how did you find the way ?
Nandini : that's very easy, you only said the answer. Rain is already down, that paper already showed us word "rain" when it fell down. That line meant rain water. And you said nothing is front of us, when we looked around only one thing is front of us i.e tree. Then I felt here must be something.
Manik : ( analysing the puzzle ) hmmm, yeah you are so damn right. It is below the sun, connected to earth i.e ground or can say mud, when we go height the air is less. And we both those two confused people. Wow !! its all like, Someone has already know about us.
Nandini: Exactly !! You got it. This is what happened. And let's start.
He lifts nandini up
Nandini :manik thoda aur upar uthao,
Manik :uff nandini dekhne mein tho kitni patli ho , par bahut bhari ho tum. What is your weight ? 100kgs ,. ? (And laughs )
Nandini :haw manik, how mean you are. Leave me, and you go. I will manage myself to come some how.
Manik :acha , gussa mat ho. Just kidding. ha chalo ab try karo
Nandini :naii
Manik : okay sorry, no more jokes. Chalo.
Nandini : hmmm, okay. bolo ki nandini tum bahut halki ho.
Manik turning notorious : haan nandini, (lifting her up again ) tum bahut halki ho, just I couldn't lift you as I'm lean than you. ( laughs again )
Nandini : ( finally gets hold of branch and shouts ) tum manik ka bacche. Ruk batati hu tumhe.
Manik : Nandini , tum naa.. Chalo ab. Baadmey ladai karenge. Postpone it later. Let's find some place to sleep.
(Both gets on to branches, moves forward holding each other hand. One after the other both move forward )
Manan finds some circular, soft, warm place in that darkness and flower light getting low and dim. They decide to sleep on that branch for night.
(imagine after climbing on the branch of a tree there is big web on which they slept)
Initially, manan's faces are in opposite direction. Manik sleeps straight, stretching one of his hand towards nandu side. Nandini, as scared of darkness faces manik. Assuming him to be fall asleep, she slowly places her head on his shoulder, hand on his waist, sticks close.
When manik hand wraps around her, she finds herself more secured and realises that manik didn't sleep yet, and he is trying to comfort her , so that she doesn't get scared like that day.
Here recalls nandini (flashback):
It's around 8 - 9 pm tonight,
On 21st August, 2007.
We all were on a picnic in Aravalli mountains, its a camp.
Here, wraps up the update for today.
