Chapter 6:
Nandini : iss mey tho kuch nai hai.
May be it's really a scrap manik. I should have listened to you.
Manik : ( with a turmoil look ) par Nandini !!
Nandini : haan, Bolo. Kya baat hai ?
Manik : par yeh blank paper kaise hogaya ?
Nandini : kaise hogaya ? Yeh kaisa sawal hai ? Blank paper tho blank hee rehta hai.
Manik : nai nandu, baat wo nahi hai. Jab Maine ise dibbe se nikal tha, something was written in it.
Nandini : tho ab kaise gayab hogaya ? Tum bhi na, ye mazak Karne ka waqt nai hai.
Manik : mai jhoot nai bol raha hu. Sach mey dekha hai. ( still in chaos)
Nandini : mai waise hee tak gayi hu. Chod na manik. Rest Karlo yeha.
(Still holding the piece of paper in hand )
Manik pov : ( scratching his head ) Maine dekha na, ya mai aise hee soch raha hu kya ? Pata nai yaar. Mere saat kya kya hora hai. Pehle uss house pe meri aur nandu ki photo, maine khana banaya wo bhi apne aur kissi aur keliye, baarish mey bhi beeg gaya.
Pata nai, aur kya kya hone wala hai mere saat. Aaj kal bewaja haasne bhi laga hu.
Bhagawan ! Mujhe strong aur serious banna hai. Chodna sab baate. Manik is back from now.
Nandini just leans on a tree, left side facing towards tree, closing her eyes, and just relaxing.
After soliloquy, manik turns towards nandu. How beautiful she is, but how can she be so beautiful? Mere annk kharab hai shayad.
Still staring at her continuously, meanwhile Nandini few hair falls on her face.
He just gets close to her to move those hair so that he can just keep peering at her.
Manik stepping towards her, looking at her beautiful eyes, her pink lips and relaxed forehead and mesmerized completely by her charm, removes her hair, placing them back with his fingers so gently and gets so close to her cheek to place his lips, ( in an enchanted state, not knowing of what he is doing )
Suddenly, some flower falls from the tree, Nandini wake up and finds manik next to her little close.
( Manik looking here and there above sky )
Nandini : (question mark expression)
Yeh, tum kya kar rahe ho ? Waise tum mere godh mai kyu baite ho ?
Manik : kya ? Mai kab tumhare godh mai baita hu ? Andi ho kya ? Chashma chahiye kya ?
Nandini: jyaada fark nai hai, dekho tum kitne paas mai ho, Jaise mere upar hee ho, ( face to face just an inch gap)
Manik : wo, wo aise hee. Chalo, mai ab haat gaya. Kush ?
Nandini : kya ? Iss mey kush hone wali kya baat hai ? Tum itne pass aye hee kyu ?
Manik : ( again looking here and there , looking up as to avoid answering, pretending that he didn't listen to anything)
Nandini : manik !! Tum waha kaha dekh rahe ho ?
She raises her hand in which there is the paper to sky. To her surprise, she can see word " sky" on the paper.
On her instant notice of piece of paper, she widens her eyes so big and starts rubbing her eyes.
Looking at her being silent, manik takes the piece of paper into his hand lowering it on his hand.
He could see nothing.
Manik : ab tumhe kya hogaya ? Aise kyu dekh rahi ho, Jaise kuch bhoot ki dekha hai.
Nandini : wo na, usmey kuch likha huwa tha.
Manik : kya likha huwa hai ? Mujhe thi kuch nai dikh raha hai.
Nandini : what ? Usmey tha, sach mey tha manik. Theek se dekho, she snatches it from his hand, holds it in her palm but could see nothing.
Manik :I don't know
Manan sat down in little distance and manik closed his eyes and nandini still looking at paper with a despair.
Nandini (confusion ):aise kaise ho sakta hain , kuch der pehle kuch likha hai ab kuch bi nai.
Manik pov :
Abey oo manik, tumhe kya hora hai ?
Kya Karne gaye tha tum ? Dimak sahi hai bhi ya nai ? Aise kaam maat kiya karo na. Waise galti sab iss dil ki hai. Dimak bhi kaam nai karta iss dil ke waje se. Acha huwa wo divert hogayi, nai tho tu kya karta. Bach ke rehna ab se. I must maintain some distance with Nandini.
Suddenly nandini shouts " manik"
Manik : (with sudden jerk)
Kya hua?tum theek ho?
Nandini : relax I am fine.. wo mein iss paper mein ek aur word dekha hai.
Manik: kya hai wo ?
Nandini: " hawa " written in different languages.
Manik :acha, let me see (he took paper from Nandini's hand and looks at it placing on his lap )
Nandini isme tho kuch nahi hai.
Nandini :haan ? aise kaise ho saktha hai, abi tho meine deka hai.
Manik :par..(cut off middle by nandini)
Nandini :manik, trust me. mein sach bol rahi hu (makes sad face and looks down)
Manik :I always trust you nandini. Let me look at it again, holding the paper in palm.
By mistake it falls down in a little damp area, when he bends to take it. He could see a word written " rain "
He picks it up holding it at its edge, could see another word "air"
This astonishes him. And calls nandu.
Nandini :haan?? She also looks at the paper and shouts "manik, manik, dikhai dera hai kya tumhe ?"
Manik : haan, ab ye dekho tum, ( he places it on water )
on careful observation she could also see a word "rain " written in many languages.
Manik : I said you in the beginning itself, something was written on it but you didn't believe me.
Nandini : I'm sorry ( holding her ears with her tiny fingers )

Between manik, tumne tho kaha, ismay bahut kuch likha huwa hai ? Par ab sirf ek word ?
Manik : haan, may be. I'm not sure. Chalo. Ab isse karenge bhi kya ? It can't help us.
Nandini : aise kaise ho sakta hai ? Let's wait and see, if we get few more words. If it's not the clue then at least we can play sometime with it ( and starts smiling )
Manik : tum bhi na, kuch nai ho sakta.
Both for sometime stays silent.
Nandini screams suddenly, " mujhe idea mila hai, I understood "
Nandini : manik wo box bhi lekar aao yeha, jaldi.
Manik : kyu?
Nandini : this island is different. Did you remember I plucked all fruits and vegetables from a single tree.
Manik : what ?
Nandini : haan, sach mey. Mujhe abhi yaad aya hai. I didn't notice that time. But no tree here is like that, even this box may be unique. It may contain all words ? Or some clues ?
Manik brings the box and they start checking it upside down but found nothing.
In anger nandu places paper back into Pandora box and leaves it open.
Manik looking at box with determination and suddenly something appears on that paper
Manik :nandini, ty sahi hai. Have a glance.
(with curiosity she starts reading it)
""mai huu baarish ke upar
Mai hu baadal ke neeche,
Hawwa hai yeha waha,
Par jaha mai hu kam hee hawa,
Suraj aya hai par chaya uss jagah,
Mitti se rista hai do uljhe hue insaan,
Mai hu aanko ke samne,
Aur deko wahi meliga manzil ka raasta""
Manik : yeh poet kaun ho sakta ? Bahut acha poem hai na, nandu ? Shayad hum se pehle wo aya hoga.
Nandini : hahhaha, ( sarcastically) joke tha ? Ya tumhe sach mai aise laga ?
Manik : kyu nai ho sakta ? Hum se pehle koi poet nai aa sakta ?
Nandini : acha , ( widens her eyes ) tho wo poet magician bhi hoga, usee pehle hee pata hai hum aane wale hai. Tho is liye wo ye chod ke gaya. Hai na manik !! ( sarcastically again )
Manik feeling himself little dumb. Sach mey mera dimak kaam nai kara. ( laughs at himself, )
Manik : how do you know that it's written for us ?
Nandini : I didn't understood in that " mai " kaun hai. But mitti se rista hai, dekho hum dono mitti mey khade hai bina kuch pehne, hum uljhe huye bhi hai.
It exactly described our situation.
Manik :hm... you got a point .
Nandini : point tho mil gaya, jawab tho socho.
Manan starts reading it again again and again.
They look at each other as they start feeling thirsty and hungry too.
Nandini looking at him,
Manik : kya ? Bhook lagi hai ?
Nodding her head up and down.
Manik : mujhe bhi and smiles.
Nandini unpacks the food they got along from house.
Manik : mai kitna acha cook hu, y should be happy that I'm with you.
Nandini : aha ! Really .so, I should say "manik u r great"
Manik : no need to say, I am born great.
They both get relaxed and filling their tummy enough.
