Also I dunno why/if ppl still have a doubt...if anything yesterday just reinforces it IMO...
It is an inevitability that she will give herself to him and something tells me she will make that moment more beautiful and giving beyond everything that has happened b/w them before.Cuz the shifting point is always when Nandu matches his ardor equally and even outdoes him/surprises him...and somehow that is what I envision happening now whenever the time comes...cuz when Nandu makes up her mind, she gives it her all...that confidence all pours into her inherently giving nature...then she wants to embrace her own desire and him all the more.

As a newbie viewer wanted to pen down my thoughts on why I have gotten hooked to KY2.
It's a run of the mill story no doubt. Very formulaic - middle class, timid but principled girl meets the rich but poor little bad boy of college, they clash, she shows amazing grace, he falls for her and she slowly starts breaking down the walls he has built around himself to weed away his pain and loneliness. Sounds familiar? Of course. Been there , seen that. But, I was like ok, it's still a pleasant watch so let's keep going. Even after their first kiss, I was was like sweet and yeah pretty well projected unlike most of the awkward set ups we've seen until now but nothing special. ( except the fact that they kiss like a dream! Then ... the musicana night happened! And that's when this show arrived with a bang!! It went from being one dimensional to becoming this layered, sensitive and beautiful portrayal of relationships and friendships.
So much happened that night. Let me first talk about Cabir being outed. I have loved the way they've dealt with homosexuality in this show. Sensitive, no stereotyping , yet addressing some of the key homophobic reactions and issues that prevail in our society today. Raghav and Cabirs discussion and the stark difference of opinion regarding their relationship and societal acceptance that so clearly highlighted their generational gap was beautifully done. Cabir, the youthful idealist who thinks as long as they stand together all will be fine. R the voice of experience, battered, bruised and running scared. It wasn't dumbed down. Neither was it a sermon. Also loved their relationship arc. Cabir, the young guy surrendering himself totally to the older, self absorbed, tad selfish Raghav. Cabirs mom reactions too were spot on. This is how it goes down in our society. I love how they continue to show us his on going struggle to win her back. Then again, his relationship with Navya is so well portrayed. He being her support, she assuming he is always going to be around and perhaps developing some feelings for him. It happens. Kudos to the team for bringing it forth for us so fabulously.
The break up.
This was the point where the show turned one eighty degrees for me. Loved the break up and its aftermath.
Maniks struggle bw love and friendship and his choosing his childhood friend was bang on. Shit happens. But I doubt he would have understood the depth of his feelings for Nandini has it not been for the Dhruv angle. I doubt they would have come onto equal footing had he not broken her heart so brutally. Coz its then that he fully realised what this girl means to him. And what she is made of. Her strength. Her humanity. Her individuality. When she asks him where is her right to choose. Gobsmacked him in the gut. Guys don't think. Specially alpha males like manik. Rarely has he been questioned, thwarted or resisted. Nandini did so thru out but this question made him introspect. It made him take a look at his own needs, his desires and his loneliness that was all hidden under this protective shield he had in place for the fab5. It also made Nandini understand clearly how important Fab5 is to him. I loved loved loved that statement when he tells he will always choose them over her because he needs to protect them. Just like she protects him. That one statement put all their relationships into perspective. Fabulous writing.
Then came the valentine day break up. Just when i thought everything is hunky dory and this show will now decimate into the usual sweet nothings, they threw a spin by bringing in the trust issue. So real. So good. How can a 17 yr old girl not be confused when shown that fire clip. How could her head not be messed up. Just because she fell in love with Manik doesn't mean she lets go of her ability to think. Doesn't mean she immediately has blind faith in him. She has been witness to his monumental anger. She knows he will stop at nothing if anyone hurts her. She knows how over protective he is of her. Hell, he went against his own controlling mom for her. Why would he not kill soha in order to save her. Her confusion, his reaction , her guilt, his anger, her anguish at causing him so much pain, his at her not trusting him - fabulous writing again. But through it all emerged a love much stronger but also a deep understanding of each other. She now knew how fragile his trust in love is. How battered a child he is within. And how devoid of love and affection he has been. Had it not been for this conflict, she would not have been able to grasp the full extent of his despair and loneliness. I loved when she tells mukti " I don't want to see his worst side. I want to see his best side" . That was the strength of this girl-woman. And therein lay his salvation. He on the other hand realised she was not perfect. Up until now he had put her on this pedestal where she could do no wrong. And where he was the one making all the mistakes. But he now knew she too was human and that together they became perfect. Kudos!!
I seriously feel that had these two break ups not happened, Nandini and Maniks relationship may probably not have stood the test of time. When we are young and not able to fully comprehend the extent of our feelings and always looking for the next high, it's difficult to be committed. The fact that they not only fought all the odds ( as well as a few psychos on the way) but also each other is what has got them to this point of everlasting love. I agree with Nyonika. U don't find your forevers at nineteen. Only a few lucky ones do. And it looks like manik and Nandini are definitely one of those few brought closer by circumstances.
Now to the best part. The way they have handled intimacy on this show. Sex and consent I think are the two main challenges the youth face today. Peer pressure, desire to be cool often leads kids to do stuff that inherently they aren't comfortable with. With Manan, they have shown how one can be true to oneself and yet have it all. And how relationships need to be founded on mutual respect and trust along with love. Don't want to do it. Fair enuff. Want to. That's good too. I have said this before and will say it again , what is unique to KY2 is the way they have built in the underlying sexual awareness bw Manik and Nandini into the narrative. How they show it evolving as their relationship matures. That along with providing us with the female perspective from time to time is an unprecedented feature of this show. I loved the talk they had yesterday. Sensitive, respectful, loving and funny all at once. Most shows shut down emotionally at the ILU point. Its deemed to be understood that post ILU, they ride off into the horizon to live happily ever after. Heck No. That's when the struggle begins. To keep the love going. To keep the trust strong. To keep the attraction alive. To withstand the test of time. I want to see Manan go thru all of this before they shut shop. Who better than PaNi to takes us on that emotional ride. What say!
