PART-2
Nandini was not able to believe that the person within whom
her life lies was in front of her in such a stage. Dr. Agarwal
saw her and found something weird, he kept his hand on her
shoulder & brought her back from her state of shock.
D.A.: Dr. Moorthy ..."
Nandini: yeah...yes dr. lets start, I m ready...(trying hard to
hide her tears)
And being a qualified dr. , she got back to her composed
state and started the operation, forgetting about her past.
She tried not to look at his face, becoz she knew it would
make her fall weak. But as she went forward with the
operation about half an hr. latr, she heard Manik say, "I knw
she will get back, she will... , she promised me..."
Dr. agarwal noticed nandini looking at his face, so he said
"don't worry doc, we have given him the anesthetics, he is
not in his senses, he just keeps on repeating the same
lines..." . Nandini nodded her head & continued her work.
But a few mins latr he again murmured "She will return... I
knw she never breaks her promises... nandini never breaks
her promises"
And this time listening her name, nandini was taken aback.
The last thing she had imagined was Manik waiting for her
all these years. Her qualifications, her duties, her
responsibilities all were helping her to stay conscious till
now, but after this all went in vein. All these years she had
been dying to hear her name from his mouth but, never in
her weirdest dream had she thought it to be this way. She
took a step back away from him. Her hands started shaking
by then, she removed her gloves & went back to get a glass
of water. Dr. Agarwal thought that she must be tired & took
her place till she returned back.
She drank a glass full of water & prayed in her mind,
"Ayiappa... what is happening to me??? I knw Manik needs
me, but his words are affecting be very much... Give me
strength to save my patients life...Give me ur blessings to
save my love.." . She returned back to the table & with full
energy, started working. Dr. agarwal was very much
impressed by her way of working.
After a vigorous hard work of about 3 more hrs, nandini
suddenly stopped & stepped back. Dr.Agarwal looked
towards her with a questioning look. She removed her mask
&smiled saying "Dr. we r done, it was successful...
Congratulations"
D.A.: but dr. how can u say so, we are still on our way.
Nandini smiled broader, took up and injection & injected it to
manik. All the ppl inside the room, smiled seeing the
computer moniter & then at nandini's face. Dr. Agarwal
noticed her joining her hands, closing her eyes & saying a
small prayer silently. She finally commanded the juniors to
finish off the final stitching part, as she herself proceeded
towards the computer systems to check the other required
details. Dr.Agarwal went towards her & said
D.A: commendable work Dr. Moorthy. Really Dr. Albert were
right u r much more talented than ur age.
Nandini: thank u dr., I just wish for ur blessing with me
forever.
D.A.: ohh no, no... in fact I have learned a lot from u
today... lets go now we should tell his friends...
Nandini: (to herself) friends... that means all of the fab5
are here , how will I face them??? How will I answer their
questions??... no, I don't hv any courage to meet them. I
cant...(to Dr.Agarwal) hmn... yes dr. we should... Sir, may
I plz request u to give this news to them, actually I had a
long journey & then this operation... So I m very tired, I'll
prefer to go n rest now..
D.A.: ohh I understand, its been a long day for u, u carry on,
I'll see u latr
Nandini: thank u sir, and can u plz send the reports to me
asap... I cant wait for long..
D.A.:ohk sure, I'll send them
Saying this he left the room. Nandini felt a sudden urge to
hv a look at the ppl standing out. As dr. said that there were
6 of them, she knew that amongst them 4 will be cabir,
mukti, dhruv n aliya but she wanted to know who the rest
two were. So went to the gate, and hid behind the curtains.
She saw that as Dr. Agarwal exited the room, all of them ran
towards him. She noticed that the other two were navya &
abhi, she was so happy seeing the ppl who once were a very
important part of her life, standing in front of her.
Mukti: Dr. uncle how is manik??
D.A.: calm down mukti... and guys congratulations the
operation was successful, manik is out of danger
And listening this she saw all of them hugging each other
with glittering eyes, finally relieved to know that their frnd is
out of danger.
Dhruv: thank u dr., u r like god to us... Thank u very much.
D.A.: no dhruv, I m not the one to be thanked, all this was
possible only bcoz of that angel which god had sent for
manik.
Abhi: ohh yes dr., where is she we definitely owe a lot to her
Nandini who always considered him as her brother, was full
of tears by then... she remembered the way abhi got manik
& nandini together.
D.A.: she was very tired n needed rest so she left.
Cabir: what??? So soon... we actually needed to thank her...
Btw what was her name??
D.A.: dr. Moorthy...
Cabir: Dr. Moorthy??? But u said that she was from
Australia...
Mukti...: cabir, such an idiot u r... can't an Indian live in
Australia..
D.A.: ohk now I hv some work... see u guys latr..
Aliya: doctor can v meet manik now??
D.A.: yes aliya off course, but not now, we'll soon shift
manik to the ICU, then u all can meet him... for now no one
can ntr the operation room & moreover he is still
unconscious .
With this he left the place. Nandini who was still hiding
inside the operation room, noticed all the staff leaving. Now
she was left alone along with manik. She went closer
towards him & sat next to him, holding his hand tightly.
Nandini: why manik??? Why r u still waiting for me?? I m not
gud 4 u... I don't deserve all this love of urs, I hv only given u
pain n nothing else... Stop waiting for me manik... plz stop
waiting...
She cried her heart out next to him. After a few mins, she
realized that it was time for her to leave, so she got up &
kissed his forehead and left. Nandini got out of the hospital
& saw fab4, navya & abhi standing in front of a huge crowd
of fans n media.
Cabir: there is a gud news for all of us... That manik is now
out of danger & will soon recover fully.
Listening this the whole lot of ppl started cheering. And a
reporter asked " so when will he get discharged??"
Dhruv: well we don't hv any ideas about it yet, hope soon...
but for now we request u all to plz clear the hospital
premises, its causing a lot of disturbance to the other
patients... u all will be kept updated about manik's where
abouts time to time... thank u all 4 ur love& prayers.
Nandini smiled seeing the joy on all the faces & left before
anyone could spot her. By the time she reached her hotel, it
was already 9:30 pm. But unlike her usual days, this time
she entered the room & straightly went to bed. Neither did
she freshen up or changed nor did she pray. She just went
to bed. All the days spent with manik came back to her
mind one by one. All those days which were the best days of
her life. And then finally the day when she left him. She was
full of tears remembering the day, which changed her life,
which changed her as a human being.
