I hardly drop by on twitter, let alone posting my thoughts there. But the last few hours have just caused me to snap!
So some odd three hundred and something days ago, I started watching this show. As I continued to engross myself in the delicate love story of theses two characters Manik and Nandini; whom we all so lovingly refer to as MaNan, I was rather intrigued to search some of their offscreen interviews too. As I dug each and every video possible, I made a point to subscribe to those respective YouTube channels which would ensure I stay updated with the offscreen conversations of these two fine actors as I correspondingly continue to indulge myself in their growing love story on the show. Before I knew it, I became obsessed with these two.
Be it onscreen or offscreen...they filled my heart with so much joy. I won't lie... I always remained curious for the rather reserved behavioral gestures I saw between the two actors as I watched their gift segment, fan segments or simple routinely interviews. But it never really bothered me that these two didn't giggle, playfully smack or excitedly bully each other during their offscreen segments. They held a dear respect for each other as beings, as co-stars and the mutual dedication towards their respective characters and the show always had me losing my heart to them.
However a few hours ago, as I willingly plugged in some earphones to listen to the most recent audio interview of the male lead of this show, a whole new essence of proudness and respect bloomed in my heart for these two flawless actors. It honestly disgusts me to know that many people who claim themselves to be the true fans of the lead pair of this show, can honestly lose control over their words so easily.
As fans we have every right to critique our idols, praise them, provide them honest feedback. But by all means no one gives us the right to use such abusive and disgraceful verbals to harass the love and dedication an actor shows towards his fans by giving them a genuinely honest interview. Someone who's still amidst their recovery from a rather severe case of sickness, takes out his time to answer the questions which you all have so rightfully asked him as "hardcore fans" yet when it comes to respecting, appreciating and accepting the honest answers, it truly astounds me to think how quickly people can change teams within the span of seconds.
What I fail to understand is what is the problem here? That he didn't name Niti as his favourite co-star? That he didn't credit her enough for the hard work she puts into their scenes? Mind you, if you would've listened with open ears and patient souls you would've heard this boy genuinely praising his co-star for the hard-working, patient, content, optimistic and dedicated attitude she carries not only towards her character but also for the show as a whole. Not only that, trusting his fans to be his loyal companions, he opens up to reveal that being a shy introvert he often is misunderstood for being intimidating, ignorant or plain rude whereas it's a part of him where he just prefers to keep to himself rather that speak out aloud about every aspect of his life. No respect, no admiration, no sense of accreditation was given to him for opening up to his "so-called-loyal-fans" as many were too busy criticizing him for baseless reasons.
By all means, if the two didn't understand each other's weaknesses and strengths so well, you wouldn't be sitting there watching their scenes or looped repeats. Taylor understands his quietness and reserved nature quite thoroughly...likewise Samthaan acknowledges her weaknesses too and they both come together to strengthen each other's performances as co-stars, delivering a set of magical screens on the show.
Parth Samthaan and Niti Taylor have moulded the characters of Manik and Nandini. MaNan belongs more to them than it does to us. Their humble respect and concrete sense of professionalism has revolutionized today's age of romance. You claim to be fans of their acting, their performance, it'd be rather appreciated if you stay as their fans and not become the story-tellers of their real lives. The profound understanding they share behind the camera is something you can only visualize and attempt to map out so it'd be wise if no one jumped to abrupt and meaningless assumptions because really the harsh reality is they don't need to come out and justify their offscreen understanding and bonding for the sake of fans' entertainment.
Honestly it's people like you lot why actors fear or become hesitant to voice certain thoughts. The art of senseless dot-joining sometimes compels actors to rather keep a closed word on certain things because fandoms can be so ignorant of the feelings of actors. THEY ARE HUMANS AFTER ALL! Emotions, pain, happiness, sorrow; they go through it all. Learn to respect. Learn to appreciate. Learn to adore honesty. And well if as "true fans" you have no sort of support or admiration to provide to these fine actors; no matter how loud you scream, how many times you repeat your rants, it ain't harming anyone but you. If you can't speak well, don't speak at all. Because your words aren't going to make a difference to them anyway.
Just want to conclude by saying Parth and Niti... Thank you for giving us MaNan, for working endless nights and days and for just being yourselves to give us the best of your ability. We shall cherish you and MaNan for decades to come.
Rest...enjoy the show and calm your imagination!
~ Grateful MaNan and PaNi fans!
