Cheesy title right? But jo sach hain woh mooch hai. This past week has truly made me realize how dedicated the actors and the technical team of KY2 are towards their work and this show. Imagine the horror they were put through, male lead indisposed for a week, and yet they managed to emerge victorious. I was actually sceptical about how the writers would handle the story in Parth's absence, considering that expectations from the audience's side were expected to be on a high post Nandini's confession/birthday. But, the team managed to crush any and all apprehensions of the fans and how! With clever use of flashbacks; some brilliant acting by Niti, Kishwer, Abhishek, Karan, Krissann and the rest; mindblowing penmanship by the Watwanis (thanks for the LEL-worthy meta); and, if I may say so, fine editing, the KY2 ship managed to sail smoothly amidst troubled waters (internal and external). There was enough drama onscreen and offscreen to keep all of us entertained through the week (rolls eyes). Kudos to Richa and her team, the Director, technical staff and also MTV (yes them too) for pulling off this miracle. MaNan were left untarnished, in fact I have grown to love them even more (if it is even possible) now that I was given an insight into Nandini's mind and feelings through the hospital scenes with "Sleeping Beauty". It was a pleasure to see her reminisce her moments with her Monster/Majnu/The Manik Malhotra. All the flashbacks were so beautiful and poignant to the situation. The bonding between the characters was so on point and I have kinda missed these relationships which tend to get side-tracked because of the focus on MaNan (special mention: Cabini, NyoShad, Nandu/Rishabh, Nandu/Chachi, NavNi, DhruNi). Also, I am really intrigued by this Aryamann character. His scenes with Nandini have been good enough to fuel my hope for a evil-to-good redemption track and future friendship and hopefully some healthy competition between Nandu/Navya/Aryamann and Fab 5 (music competitions are the USP of KY2, CVs please cash in on this Radio 02 talent hunt to give us Musicana-walle feels). I have always loved Kishwer aka Nyonika, and this week the Dragon Lady proved with panache why she is to be feared and will always be the most epic negative character ever. The tashan scenes between Nandu and Nyonika, bravo! Last, but definitely not the least, my Rockstar, baccha, chottu package, Niti, kaise kar leti ho tum? Manik and us be so proud of you girl. The pressure, long shoots and exhaustion of shouldering the MaNan ship without your partner would have not been easy but you still managed to pull through, kept us hooked to the show and also entertained us offscreen with your cute Dubsmash videos. This week in addition to being Manik's star, you have been our star too. You did shine for us. The hamesha-walla pyaar was put to test this week and the fans and the KY2 Team proved that
Kitne bhi tu kar le sitam, has haske sahenge hum - Yeh pyaar na hoga kam sanam teri kasam - Ho, sanam teri kasam ...
Gracias, Danke, Shukriya...KY2 Team
Lots of love,
Elcina
