Chapter-13

That night Nandini sat beside Manik till the moon fell..thier fingers filling each others lacuna by tangling themselves with each others..of conveying each other about their presence..Nandini woke up to find herself snuggling close to Manik's chest..don't know why but there was calm all around..Nandini got up to find Manik's bruises still raw..The calmness around made Nandini sense some wrong oncoming..was the calmness,the silence an ominous one? As if the one before a strong storm?shooing away all her intuitions she looked upto Manik..it felt as if the handsome face has been battered a few many times..may it be just because of the enviness of the Greek God himself..for finding an inheritance of him and what would be more better than aiming at his face? But right now it was not only about the physical bruises which Manik endured but the conflict between his own inner self to prove himself to gain a pinch of trust from his best friend turned wife..Manik got up still feeling dizzy..he looked here and there to confirm about his whereabouts..but alas! He could not remember anything about last night..everything appeared to be blurred when he gave more stress on his mind..he was going to faint when a loud voice alarmed him"Manik"..what do you think who would be the owner of this voice?yes,its Nandu.."Manik tumhe kisne bola uthne ke liye??with whose permission you got up haan?kya tum sochte kya ho apne aap ko??kahin ke maharaja ho tum??and listen don't even dare to move without my permission"..bas this was enough to make mr.Malhotra go gaga over her statement..because this was not the Nandini on who's maang he filled the vermillion powder but this was HIS Nandu..caring and loving who turns into a dayyan when it comes to Manik's health.."but nandu..ahhh"is all the poor soul could utter because he hurt his hand on the edge of the bed.."dekkha lagi na..boli thi na mein be there only but nahin tumhe ko kisiki nahi sunni na..sunoge bhi kyun tum to Manik hoo...the Manik Malhotra..the famous rockstar..aage se hilna bhi mat"Manik's inner heart could no more stop doing salsa doing the steps on its own accord but he did not let to show it in his face..he carried the same sheepish expression which he used to put on when Nandu scolded her..he put his head down with the same pout to prove his innocence..

"hands up"Manik looked up confusingly.."hands up?but Nandu maine thodi na kuch crime kiya hai ?" "I have to take out your shirt" "what??" Manik almost screamed on listening to Nandini.."yeh..kya bol rahi ho tum..i..i..cant take off my shirt"said Manik clutching his tee tightly with both his hands..he continued"tumhhe pata nahi kapde ek insaan ka izzat hota hai and main aapna izzat kisike haato mein nahi de sakta"said Manik all dramatically as if he really was going to be ripped of his soo called "izzat".."will you put your hands up so that I can pull off your shirt??"Nandini almost gritted those words between her teeth.."but Nandini how can i??you know na how introvert I am??"Manik being a opportunist grabbed this opportunity to tease Nandu.."Manik this is not the first time you are going shirtless infront of me..so stop this drama..ok??and stop being smart.." "tumhe pata nahi Manik Malhotra is already smart"came the instant reply of Manik as this dialogue had been the signature one of their friendship..Nandini just showed her big doe eyes to indicate the rise in her anger level and Manik had to give up his smartness..he just raised his hands as instructed..Nandini sat beside him and pulled his tee careful enough not even to hurt the tiniest of his wounds..her heart melted on seeing such a sight infront of her..Manik was almost hurt everywhere..her heart asked her to caress every of his wound..she slowly took away the bandages and kept it aside..she damped the cotton wool with antiseptic and started applying it..Manik hissed in pain..all this while he had been staring Nandini but as soon the damped cotton touched his body he hissed..Nandini bent more towards Manik and started blowing air on his wound..it was a very tough time for Manik to control his desires...Nandini got up and went to Manik's back..this was not the first time Nandu saw Manik shirtless but don't know why her butterflies in stomach did not leave her..she noticed Manik's back..the white skin clouded under the red one marking his bruises..his perfect chislled torso for which any girl would die for..and his angel tatoo was an icing on the cake..Nandini slapped her eyes many times for not to see him but who could control infront of a Greek God?Nandini was blowing air on his wounds giving a hard time to Manik when her index finger started outlining his tattoo..all of a sudden she wanted to kiss his back..now this was the end of Manik's control..he turned back and cupped Nandini's face..this was when Nandini got into her senses..she jerked manik's hand and left the room
