nandu: this is aryaman...
aryaman reached out his hand manik shook it like he was slamming a hammer down...
aryaman: and u r?...
manik: m manik... nandini's boyfriend...
nandu was shocked . why on earth did he say that ? soha was no where in sight ...there was no one around who will report her... there was no reason to say that... it wasn't that she minded but it was odd
aryaman: ahhh
manik: we'd better be going nandu... ( but didn't looked at her)
nandu: ok...
aryaman: ok bye nandini. and manik see u around...
both of them went in the whole day passed just like that...
nandu reached home and suddenly she remembered that it was manik's birthday 2moro...
nandu called navya and told her about her plan she volunteered to help so did cabir...
the next morning as every year chachi baked manik's favorite cake as manik arrived they all had breakfast together and then the cut the cake and sang happy birthday for him (totally off key) ...
every year this is the best thing manik thought he gets for his birthday...
manik: ok guys lets go now...
nandu& cabir: ya...
they all reached the college the whole morning they were busy with the classes now it was lunch time nandu manik went to the picnic table in the college garden...
they both sat down just then soha came there... with aryaman...
soha: happy birthday manik...( as she bent and gave a slight hug to him)...
manik: ( rudely )...thnx
aryaman : so today is ur birthday...happy birthday man...
manik: thnx...
navya also came there...
suddenly manik and nandu were all surrounded by them...nandu knew that now soha will really suspect what is she going to give manik as a gift...as she is manik's girlfriend...
soha: so manik what ur girl friend got u...
manik : silent...
soha: don't tell me she didn't get u present...
suddenly nandu spoke up...
nandu: off course i did ...
soha and aryaman shocked ... but manik was stunned...
navya smiling cause she helped nandu prepare that...
manik: u did ... i mean u didn't had to ... i mean we just started dating...
nandu took out a big box from her hand bag...
nandu: shut up and open this... she said with a smiling face
manik: ok...
as he started opening the ribbon soha and aryaman also got curious ...
manik opened and it was a food container...
soha: u got him a food container...
nandu: ya i thought its a good idea every day he can bring his lunch in it...she said with a sarcastic smile
manik gave nandu a puzzled look as he opened the container...
manik: omg ...( a smile lit up his face just the way nandu wanted it to)...
all came close to see there were 16 small cup cakes each with a letter on it HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANIK...
manik: wow this is the best gift ever... u baked it ...

cabir and navya helping nandu baking the cup cakes 1st two times it was terrible but then finally she managed to bake the perfect cup cakes then they wrote the letters on it...

nandu: hmmm
soha: u got him cup cakes ...thats.
before soha could complete manik spoke up...
manik: thats the best thing ever he took one and bring it near to nandu's mouth for her to take a bite ...
nandu shyly took a bite and then she did the same
manik: sorry guys but i don't believe in sharing ...especially when my girl friend gave something with so much love...
soha: ohhh manik how sweet... nandu that's all what u got for him...
nandu: silent...
manik didn't like that ...
manik: she cooked for me which she never do for any one so this is special...so would u plzz excuse us so i can spend some time with my girlfriend ...
soha: ohhh ya sure ... she gave an evil smile...
all three left from there...
nandu: do u think it worked to make her believe that m ur girlfriend ...
manik: I think so ...
nandu: I do have something else for u. but I think its kind of stupid. Don't know whether u like it or not. If u don't like it u can give it back...
manik: ( grinned )you got me one more gift ... seriously if u picked it will be awesome...
nandu put her hand in hes pocket and took out a small cloth bag...and put in his hand...
manik curiously ... Put the content on the wooden table... a leather cord slithered out and a small whale hung in the middle ...
manik touched it his smile was growing every second ...
nandu really liked it because it was cute ...and polished whale tail with black thread...
nandu: it's a necklace ... Made of whale bone ...it supposed to be a guy necklace ... That's what the sales man said ...u don't have to wear it... I know its wired to get jewellery to a guy... if u don't like it u can give it back...
nandu looking at manik...
nandu: actually i bought it cause this reminds me off that origami whale u made on our 1st day on school ...but if u dont...
manic(smiling): i love it ...
nandu(sadly): i knew u don't like it...wait what .. what did u say...

nandu and manik cycling to soha's house...

they reached at soha place... her house was big...

well nandu was really glad that manik insisted on coming with her... he didn't wanted to leave nandu with soha alone...
they locked the cycles and started walking towards the door...

after a while a old lady with uniform opened the door ...
she was staring at manik nandu...
soha: get out of the way ... geeta... how hard is it to let the guests come in...

as she moved a side nandu looked at the house ... it was huge and perfectly maintained ...
then she looked at soha who was wearing a black dress knee length... with big earings ... and high heels...unlike nandu who was wearing shorts and top...with sneakers and manik as well didn't dress up at all he was wearing 3 quaters with t-shirt and slippers
soha: hi manik... come in...
manik: ( took nandu hand in his) hey...

soha: ok u guys come back at the pool side...
manik:whispered... she keep her book on pool side...

there were around thirty people...nandu looked properly .they were all from college ...
but she never talked with them before ... even manik also didn't knew them...

nandu was left alone... she looked around and suddenly felt relived as cabir was was also there sitting near the pool eating something...

cabir: i came to know about soha plan so ... didn't wanted my sis to struggle alone...
nandu sat next to him... she looked around to find manik ... and was shocked ...
he was standing with his ex-girlfriend... pryia roy...

they both played for 5 min ... And nandu was winning cause always she,cabir and manik used to play ping pong , foot ball or cricket...

nandu started walking towards the door when aryaman hold her arm and turned her towards him
Nandu felt awkward and uncomfortable...

suddenly the door opened... aryaman removed his hand from nandu like
