Manik & Nandini - Stars & Fireflies 35

Manik was mesmerized by Nandini's beauty, her grace and elegance.. It seemed his favorite stars have granted him, his wish... Nandini was looking all around for a familiar face in the crowd when Cabir walked up to her and greeted her.. Nandini was relieved to see him and asked about DJ.. "You mean Manik?" He teased.. "No I mean DJ.." She clarified..."Why would I look for Manik its his party he would be here obvio.." Nandini reasoned but Cabir wasn't listening to her at all and was busy looking here and there.. "Navya will be here in 10 mins.." Cabir was shocked "So what..why..? I am not looking for her..why would I look for her.." Cabir tried to hide his smile and blush.. "Same reason why would I look for Manik?" Nandini replied "I know you like her Cabir.."

Cabir smiled and nodded in a yes...Nandini was happy cause she realized one thing that like Manik even Cabir hid behind a mask of being arrogant and rude whereas he was not... She was also convinced that Harshad is not all that sugary and sweet that he portrays himself to be... Every other member of Fab5 saw this conversation and was shocked.. Mukti whispered to Alya "This Nandini seems to be too smart.. I mean first Manik, Dhruv and now even Cabir is being friends with her..." Alya fumed as she was blinded by rage.. "What are these two talking about ?" Manik was wondering..

Cabir handed over a golden mask to Nandini and pointed towards where DJ and Manik were standing.. Nandini looked up and as soon as she saw Manik she smiled, the sadness of morning was gone and she glowed.. DJ was happy to notice that, Manik too smirked putting his fingers on lips reminding her of their missed kiss of the morning.. Nandini blushed as she remembered the moments they spent and looked down...Manik smiled as he knew he's back on track with Nandini and he wanted to tell her as soon as possible that he's broken up with Aliya...

However Aliya who was watching all of this had plans of her own...Soon everyone arrived including Navya and Harshad, the uninvited guest.. Navya who was smitten by him brought him along with her much to the disgust of fab5 and especially Manik... However DJ asked Manik to keep calm and enjoy his birthday..Soon they all gathered for cutting the cake.. It was beautiful chocolate wine cake with according to the theme of the party.. Everyone was mighty impressed by the cake whereas Alya frowned...

As Manik blew the candles making a wish he kept looking at Nandini as if he was wishing for her and she kept smiling and blushing.. When these two were together nothing and no one else mattered to them, the world seized to exist... Manik cut the cake and gave the first bite to DJ and as he was about to go for second bite to Nandini Alya cut in between and took a larhe piece of cake, fed it to Manik and kissed him in front of the whole party.. DJ and Cabir were shocked to see this. Manik was just unable to understand what just happened and Nandini was again broken into millions of pieces..

Every time she thought things are good they took a turn for worse...She was teary and was about to tun away when Cabir held her hand and said "Nandini its not what it looks like.." "Cabir to me it very much looked like a kiss.." Nandini said but Cabir won't just let go off her hand so she couldn't run off.. Manik pushed Alya and shouted "What the hell Alya? What was that? Are you in your senses..?" he looked at Nandini who just won't look at him and walked away... DJ was upset on how things around around.. Cabir assured her that he will handle the situation...Manik walked off dejected making Alya very happy that she managed a wedge between Manik and Nandini...

She gestured Dhruv to follow Nandini as she followed Manik.. Alya knew that Dhruv has soft corner for Nandini and she used Dhruv to influence him that he should be with Nandini and she can get back Manik.. Dhruv and Manik wates ere more then friends they were buddies, brothers but today Dhruv was forgetting all that he just couldn't understand why do Manik want nandini when he has Alya.. Dhruv could not see the sacred bond between Manik and Nandini or maybe he couldn't see the lack of it between Manik and Alya or maybe even he couldn't be blamed for the first time like Manik even Dhruv experienced something new and he was not ready to let go of it even it meant going against his buddy..

Dhruv went to Nandini who was standing in a corner trying to fight tears and her feelings for Manik and failing.. "Hi Nandini.." He said.. Nandini wiped her tears and smiled at him.. "Yeh Manik aur Alya bhi na they fight and they make up.. They just can't stay away from each other.." He said leaving Nandini shattered.. Just as Dhruv was about to say something more Cabir announced a couples dance..He took out a bowl containing names of the girls and all the boys were asked to pick one...Alya was hoping she would get picked by Manik and Dhruv hoped to get Nandini...

But Dhruv and Alya forgot one thing this is destiny's story for Manik and Nandini.. Their fates were entwined long before these two knew, it about shining in darkness..Its about Stars and Fireflies and when they shine no amount of darkness can stay.. Everyone started picking up names Harshad got Mukti, Cabir got Navya much to his delight. Now it was Dhruv's turn he picked a chit and it was Alya.. Last person was Manik and as destiny would have its way answering DJ's prayers he got Nandini...much to Alya and Dhruv's disappointment and Manik's happiness...

Soon all the couples stood together Nandini was mad at Manik and he was waiting to clear the misunderstanding between them..The song started it "Pyar ki yeh kahaani suno..Ek ladka tha..Ek ladki thi.." Manik extended his hand for dance Nandini put hers unwillingly and he grabbed it and pulled her close to him.. He opened her hair and said "Didn't I say I like your open hair.." and opened her bun.. "Manik.." Nandini tried to push him away but this time Manik won't let her go... He lifted her up and said "you have to let me explain.." She replied "What's there to explain your girlfriend kissed you.."

He put her down and twirled her around and pulled her back pinning her against him as he slid his arms over hers and stopped at her waist pressing it hard.. Nandini could feel the shivers of his touch.. Manik came close her burying his face in her hair and soaking her smell and feeling her, Nandini closed her eyes.. Even though Nandini was upset with Manik there was something about his touch that made her loose herself.. She felt special and safe in his arms.. Manik whispered "I've broken up with Alya.." Nandini opened her eyes as she heard this and turned towards Manik, Manik held her even more tightly "We're not together.." He continued.. But Nandini was filled with tears on remembering everything that has happened and she remembered Dhruv's words too.. She got confused, she pushed Manik away and ran out and Manik followed her..
