coming back after readingI've so been waiting to say that!Anyhow! Thank you for the lovely summary Eveline! And, totally understand the MaNan fever which overcomes heavy flu! Hope you feel better soon!Such a dhamakedaar episode today! I was grinning away to glory from the first frame to the last! And Nyonika!Yet, I feel a bit hollow - euphoric anticipation on the one hand and trepidation on the other and the subsequent side effects is my guess.Agree with you on every single one of the points you made. However, will beg to add my own issues with some of the things in this episode. What is it with the CVs and their mishandling of the music and costumes! Where the #$&@&# did they get that fugly jacket of Manik's? He looked more like a college going hottie in his T-Shirt than he did in that jacket.And Nandini's dress - semi traditional would have been sooo much more appropriate!!! 🤬🤬 Not to forget the fact that she looks lovely in them! But they had to come up with THAT!Finally, the music - I agree that Zehnaseeb is kinda their signature song - but to use it in a Fusion Concert is bordering on laziness now. What, they couldn't find a more suitable song for the situation - one with a blend of guitar and veena chords!!! Most South Indian movie remakes have songs with the combo and they couldn't even be bothered!!! Hum se hi pooch liya hota, yaar! There were such lovely suggestions floating around on the forum a few days ago. Sooo many options and yet...There, rant over! Looking forward to your analysis on tomorrow's epi! Will we be alive by the end of it, do you think? 😉

True that...that infectious grin factor...my jaws ache...my teeth feel numb...but can I wipe that silly grin off my face...nope!! It was fast paced, racy, edge of the seat stuff...I was ready to be disappointed coz usually such sequences don't turn out well on TV...they seem to hollow and fake not to mention OTT...but they surprised me..pleasantly!!
Nyo...gosh I love her!! She is my fav...everytime she comes on screen, she perks me up!! We sit up and take notice, knowing an impactful volley of sassy dialogues awaits...such a marvelously crafted negative character...she has so much of depth!! (never thought I would say this for a vamp...but even using this word for her seems so crass 😆)!!
Hmm...I know that feeling!! All I can say is...the duration of the show is telling!! After all its not easy to continue, to entertain, day after day ,for almost 10 months, without loosing some steam!!
Your rant...I can add tons to it!! But my problem is ...having seen a couple of mediocre..sorry...below any par..indian shows (just horrifying glimpses)...and one show that lost steam mid ways...I appreciate whatever I see..coz I know this is one gem of a show seeing from where it comes and looking at its contenders!!
And to top that, I have some personality issues...too positive and easy going for good...I tend to look at the glass full (trust me life has punished me enough for that)..
Manik's wardrobe has been bothering me from day one...their emphasis on blazers...over shorts or pants...the whole over all choice of clothes for that character...irks me to no end!! But luckily for them, the actor is such...if anyone can carry it off, he can...and so they get away with road kill!! His golden jacket is more appropriate for a band Baja wala ...but beggars can't be choosers!!
About Nandini's costume...it was inspired by a kindergarten ballerina...and even the ballerina is not happy with the end result!! GAWD help us!!
And the Music...hmm..or should I say the lack of it!! You know I got plenty of my friends hooked to this show...one of the things I used to brag about...this show uses awesome melodies...and gives them a new meaning...those golden episodes when every track was done more than justice...sigh!!
Since the last few months...they are working less and less on the musical side of it and it shows!! The songs instead of being meaningful and soulful tracks, are now turning into the latest hindi popular songs that are being played on every panwalla ki dukaan!!
My grouse...Nandini did not even know how to play a veena...they did not research about it...she can't even hold it properly...forget playing!! They never showed any ...any kind of musical class..teaching..learning...practicing...working...nothing!! The maestro has not even struck one chord or played one note...what a joke!! A show based on music has turned into a farce...a comedy we cannot even laugh at...
Zehnaseeb...totally unsuitable for fusion..yes...but my guess is they wanted to close the Musicana loop ...thus the blunder!! It is a song that holds great importance of MaNan...its like revisiting the past...its like giving them their happiness back...but as a fusion stage performance song...it totally and absolutely sucks!!
Phew...talk about rants...but in spite of all I have said above...I love this show...and every aspect to bits!! Perfection is not easy to come...actually nothing is perfect in this world...and I know how hard they work and how close they come to being flawless. At the end of the day..i just feel petty and ashamed for pointing out such flaws when overall they are soo sooo amazing...
