CHAPTER 29

Scene 1---- ( backstage, auditorium 10.15 am)----

Manik and nandini were hugging each other tightly. Their eyes were closed.. For manik it wasn't only a hug but a protective embrace for Nandini. Manik to himself in his thoughts " nandini.. you r so ignorant of the bitter truth of my life... neyonika.. you don't know how much she hates me.. but I won't let my problems affect u.. NEVER". And he opened his eyes.

And for nandini too, it wasn't only a hug but an affectionate embrace for manik. Nandini in her thoughts " manik .. u have no idea about the beautiful truth of my life.. my love for u.. you don't know how much I love u.. I'll help u fighting all odds of life. ALWAYS". And she opened her eyes.

Nandini slowly and gently broke the hug.. She was smiling.. Manik was looking at her with a frown on his forehead.. But as soon Nandini saw his hand her smile vanished. She took his hand in her and with a frowny face she asked " dard ho rha h?"..
And seeing her concern for him he smiled.. Though Manik's hand was badly hurt but he uttered "mmm. Nope..! Ab nhi..". And his smiling eyes got busy tracing her frowny face.. There was a silence for few moments.. Nandini's heartbeats were raised.. Nandini thought " Manik !! Stop looking at me like this"

And to cover up her nervousness she freaked " waise acha hua.. Who told u to hit the wall and who told u to play guitar?" leaving his mouth opened.. And she left his hand and walked towards the curtains..

Manik " Nandini! Generally aise me girls show their concern. Okay"

Nandini ignored his words and while removing the curtains of stage and peeping outside she said " no one is here .lets go ".
Manik walked to her, held her waist and pulled her towards himself. And her back hit his chest.. Her heart was pumping so fast as if it would come out.. Manik smirked and said " like seriously.. YOU r afraid.. But Enter krte hue to u didn't care about anyone toh ab exit krte hue .."

Nandini's face flushed with that and she pushed him away saying " Manik.. Chalo.." leaving him dumbstruck. She removed the curtains and moved to stage.. Manik " are..! listen..! Nandini..!." while following her..
Manik " listen..! Wait.. I want to talk to u.. I need to know something..."

Nandini "what do u want to know ?.." while descending the stairs of the stage.. Manik was following her..
Manik " why r u running.. Ur leg is hurt.. Dhere chalo.m and..! ahh.. Muje ye kehna h k.. .. Don't u .. Don't u want to tell me something.. ?"

Nandini turned and while giving confused looks to him she said " I ? Nooo.. I don't want to tell u anything "
Manik opened his mouth wide but stopped and gritted his teeth.. He annoyingly uttered " Nandini.. Don't u think last night k bad tumhe kuch kehna h?"

Listening the words "last night" from his mouth, Nandini became nervous again but she immediately composed herself and turned stealing her looks.. Nandini started walking towards the door saying " I don't understand what r u saying.." and she pressed her lips and closed her eyes tightly and was smiling like a fool..

Manik couldn't control and held her hand.. And her eyes got widened with that.. She turned to face him saying " Manik..! Leave my hand.. koi aa jaega.."

Manik " I don't care." while looking into her eyes..

Nandini" but I do.. Manik pls" while looking towards the door and trying to free her trembling hand from his tight grip.

Manik pulled her more closer and said in his husky voice " Listen Nandini... Don't test my patience.. U know what I m saying.. okay." while looking into her eyes..

Nandini was feeling his breath on her face and her heart was beating fastly.. She was damn nervous. Nandini thought " aaiapppa..!!. tell him to leave my hand.. Or else I'll faint here only".

And while stealing her looks from him she uttered " Manik.. Okay.. I.. I know but.. But I can't tell u.. LET ME GO .." leaving him confused and dumbstruck..

After a moment Manik uttered "what..? can't tell me". Nandini nodded and uttered "yaaa"
Manik clenched his teeth and annoyingly said " fine !" and he left her hand.

Manik " u want to play games.. fine..! GO..." Nandini nodded in a No .

Manik said " But don't come to me asking why m angry.. " leaving her mouth open..
Nandini " Manik. I didn't say that I don't wanna tell u .. It is just that I don't know how to expr..."

Manik cut her sentence in middle " no.. Nandini.. U GO.. wherever u.."
Suddenly he heard Mukti voice and he stopped.. Fab4 arrived there. Manik and Nandini both composed seeing them. Mukti sarcastically " so new FRIENDS in the town r fighting ".

Manik sighed and said " guys I.. I want to tell u something " and with that Cabir's and Nandini's eyes got widened. Nandini started her acting.
Nandini showing fake anger and scolding manik " Manik.! You don't take things seriously.. We need more practice.. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE.." . while nodding her head and showing him eyes.. Manik had a little winning smile on his lips..

Nandini turned to Cabir and Mukti saying " I was telling him that we should do rehearsal for one more time but he.."
Cabir playfully " but he is saying Go.. Go.. Hai naa". Nandini's face flushed with that.. And Mukti was surprised to see Nandini and Cabir talking like that.

Before Nandini could say anything, Mukti said " Nandini..! Okay toh u r friends with Manik, and.. and Dhruv.." while looking at Dhruv.. Fab4 had always known that but they never asked Dhruv.. Dhruv looked away..
Mukti continued while looking at Nandini " but u r not friends with us.. like.. me , cabir and aaliya. !. So we don't need an explanation from u."

Manik didn't like mukti's behavior.. But before he could utter something Cabir said hesitantly " actually.. Mukti.. I am also.. U know.. Friends with her..".
Aaliya and mukti were surprised.

Cabir " like abhi abhi.. Aj hi. No Nandini?"
Nandini could sense the tension between Mukti and Cabir.. She uttered hesitantly " yaa.. Cabir.. U r.." while looking at mukti.
Mukti " ohh! So. one more friendship is booming"

Cabir immediately changed the topic saying " Nandini! By the way.. U sing really well".

Nandini gave a lame smile and her eyes met with Aaliya. Aaliya was neutral but she immediately took off her eyes from Nandini. Nandini's smile vanished.

Suddenly Aryamann came there with Soha..
Soha " Nandu.. ! " and she waved her hand.. Nandini smiled .. Soha walked to her.. Aaliya saw Aryamann and both were stealing their looks.. Aaliya was embarrassed recalling last night incidence and Aryamann was feeling guilty for shouting at Aaliya unnecessarily.

Soha saw Dhruv and said " hi..! " with a HESITANT smile on her face.. Dhruv smiled to the FULLEST and said " hi..!" . Everyone was surprised to see that the role reversal.

Mukti nodded her head in disbelief and held Aaliya's wrist and they walked to the sofa.. Dhruv started tuning his guitar..
Soha to Nandini " nandu.. Where is ur phone. I searched u everywhere.. And u r here.."

Nandini " Aaiappa..! Woh.. Phone. silent mode pe h.. We were rehearsing na toh..."
Soha " why r u so nervous?"
Nandini with surpirse " haaannn.!"
Suddenly Aryamann " if u r done with rehearsals toh canteen chalein..?
Nandini nodded and uttered " yaa"
Manik " NO !!". This grabbed everyone's attention .. Nandini looked at him.. Manik composed himself and while pasting a fake wide smile on his face he said " u only said u r not going anywhere bcz u want to practice more. Hai naaa".. Nandini was trapped in her own trap.

Cabir was trying hard to stop his laughter.. Nandini also pasted a fake smile and while turning to Aryamann and Soha " yaa..right.. I forgot.. U guys go na.. I'll join u later.."

Aryamann" Look Nandu ! m not going anywhere.. Tu mere sath chal rhi h ...". Manik was tapping his foot.. Nandini noticed that and said " Go na.. M not hungry.. Go" while pushing Aryamann away..

Aryamann while showing eyes to Nandini "tumne raat ko dinner nhi kia. Na aj kuch khake aai ho. Chachi called me.. u haven't had ur breakfast yet.. Right ?..".
And with that Manik stopped tapping his foot.. Aaliya who was acting to peep in her mobile was noticing the affection Aryamann had for Nandini, his care for her.

Suddenly Manik " Go..! We will practice.. later.. " leaving everyone surprised again..
Nandini looked at him with a little smile on her face.. Manik didn't smile but was making fake annoying faces.. Nandini wanted to smile to the fullest seeing him like that but she couldn't..

Nandini "okay.. I'll be back in twenty minutes.." . Manik didn't respond.. She turned and had taken a step just then Aryamann gestured her to wait.. He gestured Soha to go to Aaliya..

Soha made an annoyed face.. But Aryamann gave her an angry look. She made a pout but Aryamann was still staring at her. Nandini was confused.. Soha " fine!! Huh"

And she turned and walked to Aaliya .. Everyone was surprised.. Aaliya looked at soha..
Soha " listen.. Ah.. Umm. Wo.. M..m sorry for ..that day..". listening that Cabir rubbed his eyes with his hands.. Cabir to Dhruv " is she the same girl.. Jisne hum sbki ragging li thi..?". Dhruv smiled.

Aaliya who was surprised at first, sighed and said " it's okay.. I understand" . Soha " thanx. " and she turned to look at Aryamann giving him r-u-happy-now look..

Aryamann gestured her to go to Dhruv.. Soha's eyes got widened. Everyone was noticing that Aryamann was compelling her do all that.. . Aryamann walked to her and dragged her to Dhruv..
Soha was shocked.. So was Dhruv.. Aryamann to Dhruv " hey. Thnx man.. for that day.."

Dhruv " its okay.. Meri jagah koi b..."
Aryamann " tumhari jagah koi aur hota to ignore Kr skta tha.. But u didn't.." and Aryamann smiled...
Dhruv also smiled. Aryamann" thnx again.." while shaking hands with Dhruv.. And he looked at soha.. Soha uttered " yaa... Thnx Dhruv..". Dhruv smiled and blinked his eyes.. And those cute gestures of Dhruv made her blush.. Yes ! Soha blushed for the first time.

Aryamann and Soha left with Nandini.. And a peon came and told Manik that Neyonika is calling him.



Scene 2. ---- (neyonika's office, 10.45 am)-----

Manik was sitting in front of Neyonika who was searching something in her drawer.
Neyonika" have u made ur decision?" while looking at him with an evil smile on her face..

Manik was giving stern looks to her. Neyonika chuckled and said " oh ! Silly me.. Why m I asking this question.. Bcz u don't have any other choice. So after fusion concert u r going to London.. Here is ur ticket" while placing the ticket near him ..

Manik was fuming looking at the ticket . Neyonika smirked and got busy with her work.. Manik recalled Nandini's words and closed his eyes for a moment.. And all he could see was only one face.. That was of Nandini.. He recalled her face when she had told him that she knew his biggest secret .. and had chuckled saying that he wasn't that KADVA.. He recalled the naughty smile of his phoolan when she had played a prank on him after jumping from the wall. And a little smile crept to his lips.. He immediately opened his eyes and looked at the ticket.. He picked it up and in no time he had torn it into several pieces.. This made Neyonika look at him and she was stunned..

Manik smirked and making a shocked face he said "haaa.. surprised ? orrr shocked ?" neyonika was hell shocked. Manik " Well for ur kind information.. I think we should end this relationship.."

Neyonika looked confused.. Manik mocking her "areee.. this.. GIVE AND TAKE relationship.."
Neyonika with a frowny face "what?" .
Manik "tch. what nahi.. ask why?.".

Manik leaned towards her and while opening his eyes wide ,he whispered "do u know why?". Neyonika was speechless.
Manik smirked and said loudly "bczz..I don't need u anymore to cover up for my mistakes. Now m not gonna do any mistake.. Neyo-nikaaa.. ." and he blinked his eyes

He smirked and moved back.. Neyonika couldn't utter a word and Manik left from there.
Neyonika freaked " what the hell.. There is something fishy.. Manik can never say NO to Neyonika.."

Scene 3---( Scene ( auditorium , 10.55 am)----

Nandini who had forgotten her bag in the auditorium came back to take it but her eyes got widened seeing Navya fighting with Harshad in the auditorium.. Cabir was also present there standing at a near distance.

Navya freaked " hum tum jaise ghatiya insaan k sath kbhi workshop me part nhi lenge"..
Harshad pointing his finger at her " shut up navya.. Enough is enough.

Cabir came forward and while jerking Harshad's finger he said " yes Harshad..! Enough is enough dude. Behave urself..". Navya was surprised..

Nandini walked to them and shouted on Harshad "How dare u. Kal k bad bhi tumhe samaj nhi aaya"
Harshad gritted his teeth seeing Nandini and said " Nandini! Yesterday u created a scene.. But not today"

Cabir " Nandini. don't jump into this.. Let me handle him".
Nandini " no cabir. I can handle him"
Harshad sarcastically" oh wow.. ! Cabir taking side of Navya Nandini.. "

Nandini while gritting her teeth and showing eyes to Harshad " its none of ur business.. m ashamed k kbhi tum jaisa mera friend tha mera"
Harshad " shut up Nandini.!! Or else.."

Nandini " or else..kya kr loge..?"
Harshad fumed and had taken a step towards her but to his surprise someone had moved Nandini aside.. It was Manik. Manik came forward and stood right in front of Harshad.

Both Manik and Harshad were giving stern looks to each other.
Manik while eyeing him angrily "so I am just repeating Nandini's words.. Kya Kr loge Harshad".

Just then fab4 came there..
Harshad chuckled sarcastically and said " oh! I forgot. Nandini and Manik r friends now.. And I seriously wonder.. How Manik. I mean. Kaise.. Kaise hamesha tum Nandini k aas pas hi hote ho.. Kbhi uske SAVIOUR bnke.. Kbhi music competition me PARTNER bnke.. Kbhi uske FRIEND bnke... Is this FRIENDSHIP orr... "

Manik clenched his fist and was about to hit him just then Nandini held Manik's hand shouting " Manik.! Nooo"..
And Manik looked at her and she nodded in a No.. Manik sighed and jerked his hand.. It was a big surprise for fab4.. Manik had never listened to anyone when it came to Harshad.. Nandini continued" he is just instigating u.." . Harshad's smirk had gone ..

Aaliya " U should leave bhaa.." And she stopped.
Harshad turned back to look at Aaliya. His eyes met with Aaliya but she took her eyes off him. Harshad left in anger.
Nandini looked at Navya and Cabir asked " what is the matter?.."

Cabir " Pandit has chosen me, Navya , Mukti and Harshad for classical music workshop".
Mukti's eyes got widened with that and she looked at cabir.. Cabir nodded in a yes. Mukti " damn! This pandit. Classical music workshop..!! And that too with Harshad.. Shit !"

Manik was tapping his foot in anger. Nandini sighed and hesitantly said " Manik. I .. I need to talk to u.. Akele me" while stealing her looks from everyone..

Manik looked at her and then annoyingly walked out of auditorium.. Nandini to Navya " I'll talk to panditji" and she left.
Cabir who was standing near Navya said to himself in a low voice " ishq aur mushk chupae nhi chupta.." and he turned and saw navya.. And he was stunned thinking that navya had heard him. Navya said " kehna to nhi chahte par.. Kehna pdega.."

Cabir while raising his eyebrows he asked " what?"
Navya with a fake smile " thanku"

Cabir sighed and while giving a fake smile to her, he said " madhubala ji.. Mangna to main b nhi chahta par. . I have to.."
Navya " kya?"
Cabir " help !" while showing tabla and veena to her.. Navya gave him an evil smirk.. And Cabir's eyes got widened..



Scene 4 ---( outside auditorium, 11.15 am )----

Nandini " Manik.. calm down"
Manik angrily " how dared he shout at u .. And why did u stop me.."

Nandini " Manik.. Stop being impulsive. He was instigating u"
Manik " instigating to go in a fight with him.. So what.. If u wouldn't have stopped me then I would have smashed his face"

Nandini " he wasn't instigating u to fight with him. I think.. I think he wanted u to blurt out about us.."
Manik looked at her confusingly..
Nandini" trust me.. didn't u hear..? He said Manik and Nandini r frnds.. How he came to know?"

Manik annoyingly " what do u mean Nandini..? u think he knows.. And.. And if he knows toh bhi m not afraid. I can tell everyone about us.."
Nandini " Manik.. May be he doesn't know but I think he has some hint about us.. Tbhi wo..". she took a pause and said "Anyway leave it.. But i don't want u to tell anyone about us.."

Manik narrowing his gaze at her face " what..?"
Nandini uttered " let me tell Maddie first.. Use kahi aur se pta chalega to he will be hurt.."

Manik being jealous " Nandini.. I think ur maddie is more important for u than me.."
Nandini irked listening that and was surprised.. Nandini " Manik..why u comparing maddie to urself.. He is my best friend.. !!.."
Manik freaked " and me..?"

Nandini " Manik... You.. You are.."
Manik smirked sarcastically " oh ! I forgot.. U can't say it.. Actually U don't have anything to say.." leaving Nandini speechless..
Manik " Leave it. !!" And he rushed inside the auditorium..
Nandini" Manik.. Listen.. ! " but Manik had entered in the auditorium. Nandini was dumbstruck..

Nandini to herself " Manik.. U r my... " and she pressed her lips and walked away from auditorium..


Scene 5--- ( 11.20 am auditorium)---

Navya was playing veena and cabir was watching her as if she is an alien.. Mukti had closed her eyes and was trying to play a sitar..But she couldn't..
Navya " aankhe band krne se kuch nhi hota.. Mann Ki shanti sangeet k lie zarrori h" . Mukti opened her eyes and gave her a stern look..

Cabir while raising his eyebrows and clapping " wah wahh.. Madhubala ji.. Mukti she is right.. Take a deep breath and concentrate.." winking at Mukti and gesturing her that they need her. And he faked a smile at Navya.
Navya " zyada daant mat nikalo. Yaha dhyan do.." . And Cabir's smile vanished..

Manik, Aaliya and dhruv were sitting at a far end discussing their song lyrics and notes.. Suddenly Harshad walked into the auditorium and started examining a tabla.. Manik became annoyed but Aaliya gestured him to focus on music.

Suddenly lights went off.. harshad smirked.
Cabir "damn! Ye lights ko kya hua?". Navya " saans lo.. aa jaegi"
And light came.. Navya raised her eyebrows and smiled. Cabir gestured her to focus on music.


ONE HOUR passed but Nandini didn't come back.. Manik was again and again looking at the door.. Harshad was smiling..

Suddenly Aryamann came there and asked to Navya " Navya.. Where is Nandini ..?".. Manik irked. Suddenly Aryamann's eyes met with Harshad.. And both were fuming seeing each other..

Navya " Nandini. panditji k pas gai hogi.. Classical music k teacher... 1 ghanta ho gya.."
Aryamann" I just came from ur classical music room. There is no class going on." This left Manik tensed.. Manik thought " I shouldn't have fight with her."

Navya took Nandini's bag saying " bag yahi h.. Phone b yahi hoga.."
And she found her phone in her bag and Aryamann's manuscript. Aryamann immediately took that from her hand saying " these r my notes..". Aaliya noticed that.
Navya " Nandini koi aur class attend Kr rhi hogi.."
Aryamann "today is Saturday. Half day h. All classes get over by 12 and its 12.20.."


Cabir " she must have stuck somewhere.. Aa jaegi ". And he looked at Manik. But Manik showed as if he wasn't bothered.

Suddenly Raghav came there and rolling his eyes over everyone, he said " guys me and panditji will see both performances on Monday.." and he was about to leave just then Cabir asked "if Nandini was attending ur class?"
Raghav "no.. She was practicing with u guys na.."
Suddenly Navya "sir ..panditji kaha hain "

Raghav "panditji is on leave today.. and u guys wrap up everything and return these instruments before music library gets closed. " and he left.
Aryamann and Manik both were very worried.. Aryamann to Navya " i' ll go and check music library..". Navya nodded. And he left.

Navya looked at instruments but Cabir said "I will return these you go and search her".. Navya's eyes got widened with surprise but Cabir annoyingly said " are.. Jayo na yaar".Navya "huhhh" and she left.

Manik stood up saying " I'll just come". Mukti looked at him suspiciously and he left..
Harshad to himself " and the treasure hunt begins"
