She is very proud of KY2, very well-written with compelling characters and reflects the reality of youth. Audience has responded well.
The brief for the show was have a young, happy and forward looking show.

The show's success has exceeded expectations, expected it to do well but not to this extent.

Social media for this shw has been extremely postiive.

Response has been extremely positive for our characters

Asked about if she was worried about the audience reaction to a gay character.
She said always looked at the gay character as normal and not portray a caricature.
Real person with positives and negatives who just happens to be gay. No negative feedback for the gay angle.

The kind of feedback was for the story and not because he was gay.

She has gained confidence in the youth after seeing the show' success. Our audience seemingly says we are ahead to how we are being portrayed. We are open, think boldly and are strong.

All Casting credit to Richa Yamini. She has chosen characters that are real and vulnerable. Chemistry has also worked.

Is the youth audience sticky enough. No audience is sticky enough, content is important but youth are more impatient, have more options.

Challenges in a youth show vs a GEC : Budget is a big constraint, also energy and faster pace. You have to find characters that are identifiable. Character development is important.

So she was asked if Parth was still there. She said he is still there, interviewer laughed, so she laughed and said he's still there and until Parth tells me he is leaving, he is still on the show because he has not told me he is leaving. So I think they are aware he had offers.

Anyway this is the gist of the interview, not verbatim.

Thanks for transcribing, Adhi!

Interesting answers! Very very true about the budget constraints for non GEC shows...even on GECs budgets become an issue unless the show is absolutely top of the charts or something...very tough working environment this is for the crew...so I would think this needs to be a VERY motivated lot to continue to SLOG like this in such conditions...hats off to them for that...would take a toll on ppl who wouldn't be as mentally strong.

As for Parth...lol ofcourse him getting offers is not news...I'm sure behind the scenes negotiation will keep on going on...the collateral "damage" that comes with lots of success...anyways I appreciate this team for the show they've put out...it has genuinely been a break from the clutter on Indian TV in many good ways.

I think Richa Yamini got it right on a whole another level for this show...kudos to her for that.
