Well hello beautiful ! I love how you take a concept and put together an analysis and tie in all important components of the episode..like how lady ? today was just as amazing. Promises are really significant for Manan's relationship and i am glad you chose to explore today's episode with the concept of promises.
Nandini and her promises. Her promises are always the humesha wala promises. And she never ever breaks a promise. She promised to always shine for him. She promised she won't let the darkness ever engulf him. She promised to always find him whenever he gets lost. She promised to be his strength whenever he weakens. Yesterday, he was her strength. Today, she must become his strength. That's the beauty of their love. They will always be each others strength.
They have lost the sense of sight. But they don't need to see each other through their eyes. They can already read each other's heart. Even with closed eyes, she can see his pain. She feels the pain, his pain like a stab to her heart. She reaches out and soothes away his lines of his forehead. The tell tale of his worry. Her fingers are the healing balm. My beautiful moment ! She touches, she soothes. She touches, she heals. She touches his heart, feels his heartbeat and wants to absorb all his pain. But she knows, somewhere deep down she knows that she can't fully heal this hurt, this pain her Manik is suffering. That pain will only go away if his buddy comes home, when they will once again be Fab 5.
She promised to always protect him. She promised to be his courage. If he is her alpha lion then she is his lioness. He refuses to let harm touch her. She refuses to let his heart get hurt. She promised to fight for him. And today she will fight ! She will demand to know what her Manik has done to Dhruv to deserve this indifference ? She wants to know the reasons for this misplaced hatred. She demands to know why Dhruv is hurting her Manik. And she will tell Dhruv just how much Manik loves him, that he even sacrificed her for his buddy ! She will tell him just how selfless her Manik is. She will demand that Dhruv appreciates the love her Mani gives so easily. Did Manik want Dhruv to know the truth ? No. Does she regret being honest ? No, she regrets upsetting Manik but she revealed the truth in a attempt to get Dhruv to see right, to appreciate the love he keeps kicking away. So no, she doesn't regret her actions.
The truth is revealed, the time may have been right. Dhruv wasn't in the right state of mind to appreciate Manik's gesture. It actually further pushes his insecurities forward. He can never be good enough to get a girl on his own ! That makes a man bitter, when he feels there is nothing in him for a girl to want him. But the truth no matter how bitter is better than a sweet lie. And it's about time this truth is out.
Manik's sacrifice caused so many hardships for Manik and Nandini's relationship. They fought a uphill battle from that point in their relationship. That sacrifice, deep down it still hurts her. That sacrifice still instills fear in her, fear of Manik picking Fab 4 over her thou it shouldn't. Manik has learned, he has learned to balance his priorities. Is Manik upset with Nandini ? I would assume so. Are they going to have a little tiff? It's quite likely. And it shall help them, give them closure. To let the sacrifice go for once in for all.
And today Nandini gets insight in how fragile her Manik really is. His demeanour, his attitude, his words; they can all be misleading at times. But Manik Maltorta is a broken soul, who will always think less of himself. Who will feel like he isn't worthy. And today Nandini learns why Manik gave her up. Not because he loves his buddy very much but because he always believed he, he couldn't be good enough for her. That Nandini, the girl he was falling so hard for deserved a better man, a man like Dhruv. My heart broke for Manik today. He deserves to know that he is the man for his Nandini and I have faith that his Nandini will tell him just that. There was a reason the conversation between they boys happened in front of Nandini. Was she tempted to tell Manik right away that his thinking is wrong ? that they are prefect for each other ? Yes, but this is a conversation for them to have alone, not for a third person to hear. But this conversation is one they shall have.
I liked the thoughts you had on Nyionka and Pandit but i shall add mine when the scene takes place on Monday so more on them later.
Okies...this seems it for now. As always, you were perfection with your words and thoughts.

Reya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I just like...just like hug you right now??! Like you have no idea whatsoever how excited I am at this moment to write your response because you've voiced pretty much everything I need to say out and like our telethapic connection has once again been proven through this response. I was so tempted to just colour everything red here...especially the part when you started talking about the revelation of the sacrifice but I was like wait twinkie... don't get too excited lol Oh and I'd also like to warn you that this response may turn into quite a lengthy essay, so apologies beforehand. haha
Now where do i start...hmm I think the very first scene when my cabir was hurt and dhruv has yet again released those painful arrows. I already mentioned it in other posts that what dhruv did to cabir didn't go too well with me because cabir has been such a messiah for his friends, constantly trying to keep the fab5 together and today he was termed as just a messenger. But you know what, in all this harshness...there lays some positivity because dhruv here is taking his family for granted. The day they step down, and I know it'll be cabir now and when finally manik steps down, this hatred will transform into a realisation. Pri and I have been discussing infact that no plan is going to bring dhruv back. When he falls, and he gets hurt and see that there is absolutely no one to aid his wound and heal that pain, he will return. And honestly I don't think that dhruv will return during fusion concert...it seems way too early for now. And it may even seem all to rushed because we see no potential or hope of his return. In fact all hopeful ray of light seems to be vanishing. Fusion concert...it is more of Manan's day. Like manik and nandini have been saying "it'll be our day!" The day when the ultimate realisations of priorities will happen. Manik will choose nandini over dhruv because I feel there is still a 0.0000005% of him that is wavering. This track has really been such a treat for me, because on the day of the fusion concert. Manik will stand on that same crossroad. Dhruv or Nandini. And I know for a fact though, history won't repeat this time. No room for sacrifices this time. No seperation, no heart-aches this time. And I know for a fact this time, there will be no hesitancy from nandini's behalf of confessing her love, her feelings. Their long-awaited kiss. It will all be a celebration.
Now retunring to the episode... like you said, Nandini soothed his pain...healing every aching nerve, but she knew from the tremble in his voice that no he wan't okay. Hence she asks "are you sure?" and just like him, she needs no eyesight to know that her manik is in unbearable pain. And so she sets out on a mission to find some answers, to fill some sense into dhruv you're misunderstanding your own buddy. But our dhruv...the time hasn't quite come yet for him to see over himself and his own insecurities. It's too early and hence he didn't take this whole revelation too well.
Now onto my favourite bit of this episode, when manik enters and manruv have their conversation and that too in front of nandini. You know I want to mention something here first. So I've been reading alot of posts on the forum lately of people classifying nandini as a rather weak character. Someone who only seems to have the potential of crying when hurdles arise. But today, today for me, it seemed like I re-discovered manik and nandini. I've always known that nandini is strong. She's a fighter and we've seen that from the very first episode when she goes against fab5 to save shahid. Yes she has her days when she breaks down and freaks out completely but that doesn't take it away from her that she has so much strength inside her. And today was the day for the true manik to be dsicovered and understood by nandini and us as viewers.
Manik...always been the tough, strong, attitude-filled hottie of the college. His world-famous mask of a monster has been quite a big aid in keeping his real identity hidden. But today, the cards were layed. Who manik really is. What he actually thinks of himself to be. You know I can't help but refer to Nandini as being Manik's potato and Manik as being Nandini's monster. And yet...their personalities are much the opposite. Our Manik who's always portrayed hmself to be so strong is actually quite weak from the heart. And our Nandini, so small...so petitie, so soft and little...possesses a very very strong heart.
You know as different as their personalities and experience of life may be, they share one common connection. The loss of parents and family at a young age. This led to the both of them to realise their responsibilites, to understand life at quite a young age but just look at the two totally distinct perspectives these two hold. Our Manik...been almost cheated by life. A manipulative mother, a weak father. And hence a broken family. A dark life where there is no such thing as love, trust, light, smiles and relationships? That was just a word for him. His definition of relationships was a business deal. A give and take ideology. And hence he's always craved love. He's always yearned affection. These wounds we talk about. The ones we always bring up here and there in our responses... they are just recent. These wounds were only given to the heart. But what about his soul? His soul has been permanently wounded by the experiences of his childhood. In this lonely journey of life, his hatred, anger, darkness were his companians.
And then there's our Nandini. A small, such a close-knit and love-filled family. She lost her family in an unfortunate and uncontrolled event but she had the support of her extended family. Her ams, her chacha chachi. They kept her and rishab protected in the shield of their love and affection. Her chacha chachi, no less than parents for her. And hence her belief in god has always been unshakable. Her aiyappa has always been kind to her. Her family, her prayers have been her strength. Hope, light of positivity, love have been her weapons to fight this world. To always stand up for what's right has been the motto in life.
And when these two met...two such different individuals, two very opposite sort of thinkings, but they completed each other. His dark, lonely and painful life has gifted him with a gift of detecting any sort of danger around him. And hence, he is able to protect her under every circumstance. And she, her ability to shine so effortlessly, to spread love so unconditionally has allowed him to heal everytime his wounds have been scraped. Incomplete when two individuals, but complete when one soul. That's our Manan.
You're absolutely right when you say that it still aches for Nandini when she recalls back to that musicana night when so easily, manik called-off their un-named relationship and sacrificed her. It's actually a point to be noted when she says to dhruv that she doesn't say, he sacrificed his love, she says "he sacrificed me for you." Why? Because at that point, this love wasn't so strong, it wasn't so clear to be named as love. There were elements lacking. Like we talked about it in yesterday's post that love has so many definitions. And at that time they had hardly experienced two or three of them. Romance, passion and happiness. But many definitions were still unaware to them that this journey portrayed through this track has enabled them to experience. We say it pretty much in every post and I shall say it again that they have indeed come very far. And just look at it all... we seem to feel that they know each other inside out now, but nope. There is still room to learn more and this learning process will continue forever tbh.
So today our nandini learned something about her manik. Her manik, who claims to be so strong and tough...he's infact quite weak. Those wounds on his soul from his childhoos that are still bleeding, to her dismay...they haven't allowed for him to completely heal. She has been successful to heal many wounds, to sooth out every pain but these wounds still need attending and aid. I loved what you said that he didn't sacrifice his love because he loved dhruv, he sacrificed his love because he didn't think of himself to be worthy enough for her. Because he loved nandini more. His love compelled him to think and imagine the future and he thought that dhruv will infact be the key to all her happiness. He pushed her away from the darkness that still floats in him somewhere and he wanted to keep her away from his pain. I can;'t help but take mukhbi's relationshiip as an example here because that's exactly what abhi did for mukti. He wan'ed to keep all his pain within himself. And so he became selfish and went away. Exactly what my manik wanted to. Protect her from his own pain. Keep her away from the darkness that exists inside him. And today she could witness it all. She was trying to make dhruv realise how much manik loves him, instead she came upon a self-realisation of how much her manik loves her. He wants the best of her at every step of life.
This manik we see today, who claims he is working on it. Who is fighting this battle along with her to ensure their hope wins, this strength has only evolved ever since nandini came in his life. She filled his heart with enough strength to start beating again. Otherwise it had ceased a long time back. She introduced him to the power of love. To the beauty of this idea of hope.
Manik had always been scared of love, of relationships , of trusting. In fact he has experienced heartbreak all so many times that it had left him with no strength to fight for himself anymore. Don't get me wrong...he is strong, he does have strength but only enough to fight for his friends and nandini. But when it comes to fighting for himself, his happiness, his needs, his inner-strength gives up on him. All thanks to nyonika the witch. He's seen his friend cabir go through a hearbreak in love. I understand he never really loved Aliya but he had trusted her. And she broke that trust. And so more heartbreaks. More pain. I still remember that night scene before the night of musicana when manik fiunds out that dhruv loves nandini and he is sitting at home drowning himself in alcohol. Alcohol - a depressant! Many consume it during heartache, when they are broken so they can somewhat gather the courage to fight with their cirumstances. And he was doing exactly that. He was wealk and he was finding the courage to fight for himself and he did for some time because he went to visit nandini to hug her for one last time but that was the end of that strength's life. And I remember cabir coming to pay him a visit too and cabir trying to convince him that if it's true love, it can't be forgotten...and manik staying so stubborn that no. If you try hard enough, anything is possible. But just look at the irony. If he had tried fighting for his love, it oculd've been possible but he wan't able to. I'm not saying he was wrong, no. He sacrificed his love which takes courage. Definitely! But he didn't have it in him to fight against dhruv for nandini. And so he let her go. He was weak and we've constantly seen that when it comes to dhruv he does fall weaken. It's because dhruv was the first person he loved in his life. Dhruv's love makes him weak. Imagine a boy, so disturbed with his family's circumstances, totally shattered and confused with the workings of life...he found his first and only hope of life when he found dhruv. And hence we always have seen him protect dhruv so selflessly. Shower him with so much of unconditional love. Dhruv came in his life as love, as a brother, as family when manik had already slipped into darkness. And he would've gotten consumed wholely by this darkness if it wasn't for the love he had for dhruv.
Nandini's love on the other hand gives him strength. It gives him the power to fight with life, to fight for himself. Because that's nandini for us. She radiates love, positivity and life wherever she goes. Her loves makes him strong and he radiates that same strength onto her when she falls weak.
But the weakness he has for dhruv still makes him stumble in life every now and then. And this fusion concert he will realise that he must make his love for dhruv a strength too in order to balance out his life fully. He needs to understand that whilst dhruv may have been the first time he felt that essence of love, it's actually nandini's love which makes him feel so alive and that he needs her love in order fight for dhruv at this point too. He can't fall weak and the only way for that to happen is if he recognises the strength of nandini's love.
Quickly just touching on the bit you said that will they have a tiff and there was a reason why dhruv's and manik's conversation took in place of her. Firstly, hats off for bringing those two ideas up... such a genius i swear! Of course they'[re going to have their little stubborn moment again. And I'm trusting it to be the last major one before fusion concert. They're finally there... finally gaining every sense of closure possible, it's just these last few steps remaining. I'm so glad nandini heard every bit how manik doesn't consider himself worthy of her because now her fight will accelerate to the last gear. She will make him realise that for her, it was always him. His imperfections are what made him so perfect and worth-fighting for. I don't want to talk too much about it now because I know that scene will be something out of this world and I'm eagerly waiting for it.
Ummm okay... so like I think I'm done and this went on for way too much than I had comprehnded. So sorry you're going to have read so much all over again lol But I just couldn't stop myself and when you end up writing such beautfiully and flawlessly enlightening pieces, your twinkie just gets carried away.
I shall talk to you soon my love!
Love you
