Lets see, you haven't watched the show yet you have formed an opinion. Clearly your FOE and I won't challenge it. Nor do I think this discussion will convince you of anything.

But then. Watching bits and parts of the same nonsensical show, comparing it to not only other desi show tropes but also a K-drama like Healer (I'm a fan too, btw- it had a 'fated' couple too, as far as I remember), and then taking the trouble of making a critical post based on those not-so-informed parameters. Hmm. One might say all this reeks of joblessness too.

@Tm - In the end it's perspective just like I cannot convince you to leave the forum and go away because it's your right . Similarly there are people who have a different take and you cannot write their opinion off just because you think differently, as they too enjoy the same FOE as you. You can critique , we can type essays. Two perspectives, doesn't make one better than the other. Live and Let Live.

hmmm the show is no1 on IF right now and also the no1. youth show - so do you think it became no 1. just so?

1)- Yes it's a show with hormonal kids . 17 and 19 to be precise.

2)- Story trope, they all are struggling to grow up with noone to guide them . Yet they have created their own defense mechanisms to deal with it.

3)- Girl punched the Hero twice- one for letting go of her and another when he was mean.

4) Yeah she cried, told him how he didn't care for her when he thought she was better off with his friend, another thing we know he was under immense life-debt. But she cried and punched him and walked away.It was only his honesty and him letting her in his world , showing her why he is protecting his friends that convinced her to be with him, again.

5) His mother, a class a Bitch and the boy knows it , triesd to pull an Kekta move and uses the girl to create a misunderstanding. Even when he is angry at her, he tells his Bitch Mom that , his girl was speaking the truth. So intelligent hero. His problem was his own inbility in winning nandini's trust in him.

6) He tells her that he is struggling because this conflict has shaken the way he led his life . So even though he is angry at her, he cannot really hurt her because it hurts to hurt her. Or even with away. So he is with her about trying to work -TWO DIFFERENT IDEOLOGIES in a healthy relationship.

7) Missed kisses , yes. But we had one real kiss too. Because that is a reality too .

8) Innocent girl took on the bullies . Trapped a jerk. Raised teen pregnancy issue in her college even though easier way was out to save her friend.

9) First show where leads ever talked about intimacy and how they should progress the relationship. She said, she needed a bit of friendship and he gave her that. It didn't mean she was being too prude but cooling off the intensity.

10- He is not a MCP.

11- Real conflicts based on subjective difference of opinions.

12- Healer was flawed too. You can listen to what the writers themselves said about it. 16 epsiodes and you never saw the relationship survive or exist . So we have no idea how two protagonist different in opinions or how they approached their conflicts. Because real relationships have conflicts. i love the show but different genre , different tone.

13- It's about growing up , these lone kids trying to figure out the right balance to survive and evolve.

14- Oh unlike other shows, they don;t negate the respect and love for each other when there is a conflict. So it's not a Gul-Ekta, yo-yo.

15- Guy told the girl that he was afraid of her. And needed protection from her.

16- I can go on and on but it doesn't matter. You have an opinion and it;s a show-subjective. You don't get it, we do. A broadcast show free for all to assume, like,diss. So why bother, right.

See. This is what I mean. When I came to watch this show and came here to get a jist of it, it was all roses and chocolates (as in, analyzed well). Then I watched. To me it was below par. You can take the show and make it look great on paper. I'll give you that. I liked the first few weeks of this show. But then there was that Harshad character who couldn't act to save his life and he just vanished I think. Nandini's character was just reduced to crying so much that everything else about her was flooded with the glycerin. Nandini's character is one I dislike. She was good in the first few weeks. You know, when her life had Rishabh, science, music, trying to fix her life by working in some cafe, etc. Righteous moralist heroines whose life ONLY revolves around 1 thing which is Manik does not Impress to say the least. That is it.It did have a real kiss too which was not my point. Even after that real kiss, they continuef with the overdone and stupid kiss attempts. It had potential to be good. The leads have chemistry but it went into a downwards slope not leaving me with much. It's just 2 characters monkeying around now. Thats it. They ruined the other characters along the way too. Manik's mothers character is one of the very few interesting ones but I think she shows up after 20 episodes. Going by the name of this show, I would've liked to see tracks played out well and closed well as well. There are tracks they just left without proper closure. The title of this show should be Manik and Nandini. You can put in all the sense you want with words but onscreen, it just looks messy. All the other characters and their connections with each other sucks and messed up and forward-worthy because "puri kaiynat" is busy milaofying Manik-Nandini. That is what the story has become.
