Part ~ 3


The last practice session of Fav5 ended with a bang from Cabir's drum. And eveyone looked pleased.

Manik was the frist one to speak "Aaj bohath dino baad itna accha practice huya."

"Hain lekin mera hath." Mukti complained looking at the hand she played her guitar with.

"Mera bhi." Dhruv said taking his guitar off his shoulder.

"Oh please! Tune saabse zayada break liya" Mukti argued.

"Kaya zayada?"

"Nandini zayada. Kiyu gayatha na usse milneke liye break mein."

Hearing that Dhruv got quiet an this made Mukti laugh. "Awww Dhruv, it's okay we understand."

Aliya looked worn out but was still smiling. "You guys are real funny and practice was good and all that but I am freaking tired."

"It's okay babe I will drop you home." Manik said.

This made Mukti and Dhruv share a glance and a happy teasing smile came to their lips. Manik and Aliya weren't officially dating again but they started acting like a couple, out of habit maybe, but it was amusing for the group.

All this time Cabir didn't say a word and when Manik looked at him he was staring at his drum sticks.

"Cabir tu thik hai? Aaj tune kuch bath hi nahi ki." Manik asked.

"Ha...Hain mein bilkul thik hu. Aur baath karne k liye kuch hai hi nahi."

"Baath karne k liye kuch nahi hain?" Mukti said sarcastically. "Okay so how about this? Tune aaj Madhubala k saath kiyun entry lye? Hmmm?"

Cabir started feeling uncomfortable as four of his friends' eyes stared at him, but luckily he was saved as his phone went off.

"Mom ka phone hai." And without looking at any of them he quickly went out.

"Manik tum parking lot mein wait karo, mein washroom hoke ati hun." Aliya said and inticated Mukti to come with her which wasn't noticed by Dhruv or Manik.

"Ummm mein bhi ati hun" Mukti too stood up and she and Aliya left.

When the girls closed the door behind them Manik looked back at Dhruv and they both grinned.

"So Cabir..." Manik started

"Yeah Cabir." Dhruv tagged along.

"There is something going on with him and Navya I think."

"It's more than something. But is he serious?" Dhruv asked uncertainly.

"Is he ever?" Manik questioned back rhetorically.

Mukti closed the door of the washroom on the face a gril who tried to enter and as if nothing happened leaned against the wall and turned towards Aliya.

"So it's just not me being paranoid, you can also see something is going on with Cabir and Navya?" Aliya asked.

Mukti sighed "I don't know about Navya but Cabir? Definately! The last two days he had been so moody and didn't even do jam but today all he did was practice. He didn't even eat anything! That is so not Cabir!" Mukti exclaimed.

The washroom door opened again and when Mukti was about to close it she noticed it wasn't just a random girl but Nandini.

"Oh hi..." Aliya greeted her.

"Hey!" It was still awkward between them because of their new 'friendship'

"So...ummm how is Navya?" Aliya asked sharing a glance with Mukti.

"She is okay... she is unexpectedly happy too..." Nandini trailed off.

It was Mukti who stopped beating around the bush. "So she is acting weird too?"

Nandini looked confused "Too?"

"Yeah Cabir was also acting weird and he was distant. And they came together today which is not normal either. So do you know anything?"

"No I don't. But what could happen? And even if anything did, shouldn't they have opposite reactions? I mean Cabir happy and Navya worried?" Nandini was confused and so were the other two girls.

"I don't know, but we should definately find out!" Mukti said.

"Don't mind, but I don't trust Cabir... as in with Navya. I know he is your friend, but Navya is my friend too and I don't want to see her hurt." Nandini said honestly.

"No it's okay and are all friends now... kinda but we also don't want Navya to be hurt and that too because of Cabir." Aliya agreed. "But the thing is, is it just an act or is he serious?"

"Is he ever?" For the second time today that question was asked about Cabir, this time by Mukti.

"I am serious, mein thik hu." Cabir tried to make his worried mother relax.

"Kaya thik? Do dinse dekh rahi hu kaise khoya khoya sa hai, na thik tarha se khata hai, na sota hai. Beta kaya huya tujhe?" His mom asked from the other end of the phone.

"Mom relax kuch nahi huya mujhe aur...aur mene aaj khana khaya." Cabir hated lying to his mother but he just didn't want her to worry more.

"Saach?"

"Hain mom. So chill! And umm.. let's go out tonight. Pehle shopping ya movie and then dinner. Okay?"

"Hmmm... tujhe kafi acchi tarha se parta hai na mujhe kaise mana hai?" His mom said, her smile clearly visible in her voice.

"Who to hai." Cabir said proudly and he too smiled.

"Accha thik hai, to phir jaldi ajana"

"Okay mom. Bye. Love you." And saying that Cabir ended the call.

"Agar ma se itna hi payaar karte ho, to phir jhut kiyun bola?" Cabir heard a voice say from his behind and he knew who it was even before he turned to look at the person.

And standing there was Navya, the person who he tried to avoid the whole day. As their eyes met his heart gave a leap and he cursed his luck.

First of all sorry for the late update. I have exams knocking on the door so... :(

Also sorry for not giving any CaVya moments but you will get some soon ;)

"Me...mein ne khaya." Cabir lied.

"Accha tumhare drums khana bhi pakata hai mujhe pata nahi tha." Navya said giving a sarcastic smile.

"Tum mazak bhi karte ho, mujhe pata nahi tha." Cabir replied without missing a beat.

Navya frowned at Cabir which made him smile. 'She looks so cute' he thought and it took him a lot of effort not to pinch her nose.

Instead he said "Tumhe hostel nahi jana? Chalo mein chor deti hu."

"Lekin tum to aunty k sath bahar jayoge na?"

"Hain lekin mom ko taiyar hote hote mein Himalaya ghum k a sakta hu." Cabir said jokingly which made Navya laugh.

The three girls came out of the washroom and was heading out but was joined by Harshad.

"Hey girls!" he greeted them cheerfully.

"Hi bhai." Was Aliya's reply and Nandini smiled but Mukti on the other hand looked irritated.

"Kuch kehna hai bhai?" Aliya asked already guessing his answer.

"Hain baas Mukti se kuch kaam tha. Tum aur Nandini jao, hum ajayenge."

"Lekin mujhe tumse kuch kaam nahi hain."

"Mene kaab kaha tumhe kaam hai, kaam to mujhe hai." He replied giving a cocky smile.

Nandini and Aliya looked at them both and started walking again, leaving the two of them to fight. Clearly it wasn't something new to them.

Mukti was giving death look to Aliya's and Nandini's retreating back for leaving her like this but reluctantly faced Harshad.

"What?"

"Why do you always have to be so angry around me?"

"Harshad cut the crap and get to the point." The irritated girl was getting more irritated.

"Fine. When are you going to that date of our's?" Harshad said loving the look on Mukti's face. And later added "Now don't try to say no. I still know your little srcret and it might just slip..."

Mukti got the flashback of the night when Harshad caught her red handed with the depression pills and made the deal to go on a date with him. And he might be joking or more like blackmailing about it now but she still remembered the anger in his eyes and with that anger he kissed her so fiercely and with such passion. It was just so...HOT!

'Get a grip Mukti!' She scolded herself and tried to think of a way to delay it. She knew she herself can not say no so maybe if she delayed a miracle will happen and she won't have to go. And she said the first excuse that came to her mind.

"After Aliya's birthday."

Harshad was taken a back by the reply. Obviously he knew Aliya's birthday was coming up, she was his sister, but what did it have to do anything with their date, he didn't get and so he placed the question.

Mukti rolled her eyes "It's so obvious. If we go on a date there is a high chance I am gonna kill or if not that then at least will send you to coma. So I don't want Aliya to lose her brother and her friend in jail just before her birthday."

Wow she is good at making excuses.

Harshad actually laughed at the answer "I can't argue. You have got a point, but..." His eyes twinkled. He knew her too well and won't let her go that easily "...but you can't have any depression pill till then. Till our date I mean."

"I don't get it, why not? I am gonna get more depressed after that awful date of ours and will have to take a higher dose so why stop now?" Mukti had to ask she can't just let him win everything.

"Cause I believe that maybe our date will make you happy and you will stop taking those pills"

Mukti was about to scoff but her voice got stuck as she saw Harshad's eyes turn dark and his face down, their face an inch apart.

"Now promise me you won't take pills for now." His voice send chills down Mukti's spine and she juat nodded because she couldn't trust her own voice right now.

The last thing she saw was Harshad giving a small smile before her eyes closed as he leaned forward and touched her lips with his.

It was only for a second and when Mukti opened her eyes he was gone.

Mukti growled "Oh god, what have I gotten myself into?" She asked heavenward.

Aliya and Nandini went down to the parking lot and saw Manik and Dhruv there who greeted them with a smile. Nandini smiled back but was looking around, the conversation with Aliya and Mukti still replaying on her mind.

"Navya ko kahi dekha?" She asked after not finding her best friend here.

"Who...ummm" Dhruv was hesitating and looked at Manik who also looked uncertain but he decided to go with the truth. "Hain who kuch der pehle Cabir k saath chala gaya."

Nandini and Aliya was surprised, their doubts getting more strong as they shared a look which basically said 'This is trouble.'

Meanwhile Cabir was on the road driving his jeep and beside him Navya was chatting happily. He didn't concentrate much as he was more focused on driving because he can not let his mind slip again and get into an almost accident like he did this morning.

After Navya finished telling about her day, she asked the question that he heard million times by now which he desperately tried to avoid.

"Cabir tumhe kaya huya? Kuch baath bhi nahi kar raheho aur tum aaj sara din kaha the?"

'And there we go again. Yeh laadkiya kuch baatein bhul kiyu nahi ja sakti?' He thought mentally.

"Practice mein tha." He replied shortly, hoping she would get the hint and not ask more about it. But of course that can not happen, because he was out of luck and Navya was after all a girl and she had to ask further.

"Areee practice mein to sabhi the lekin break bhi to liya, tumto kahi nahi the. Hum saab ne lunch bhi kiya ek saath, tum ne lunch bhi nahi kiya aur aunty ko..."

"Navya tum thori der chup nahi reh sakte?" Cabir growled at last losing his calm.

Navya stopped mid sentence. She got so comfortable with Cabir in one day that she forgot that he in fact was Cabir. The Cabir who teased her, ragged her and hated her. He was just helping her for one thing, they are not friends.

This hit her like cold water and she shut up, turned in her seat in other direction so she didn't need to see Cabir.

Cabir sighed in frustration. He didn't know what he was doing. He was helping her so that she would forgive him but then again when did her forgiveness started to matter to him? And he was supposed to help her get Harshad then why he got angry when his name is mentioned? He tried to avoid her but she is the one who found her and then he offered to drop her off, so much for avoiding. Now he had to shout at her but he was so tired of that question 'what happened to you?'. Only if he knew what happened he wouldn't act like this. All this conflicting feelings are making him crazy.

They drove for a while in silent but then Cabir parked his jeep beside the road and hoped down. Navya noticed this wasn't her hostel and looked at him in confusion but didn't dare to ask anything. Though she didn't need to, Cabir gave her a smile and said "Soccha mom k liye kuch flowers lelu."

This made her heart warm. This guy was impossible for her to understand.

She waited in the jeep for some minutes before she was joined by Cabir again, two bouquets of flower in his hand. One had pink orchid and the other the one was bright yellow sunflower which he surprisingly handed to Navya.

For some moment it looked like she forgot to talk and finally asked "Me...mere liye?"

Cabir just gave a sweet smile and started driving again. This handsome guy knew his way with girls and it's high time he make use of his charm on this girl.

Navya was looking at the flowers in awe and saw that there was also a small card with it and she couldn't stop the smile, that took place on her lips, after reading the what was written on it.

'Smile. Bright the world like the flowers.'

Cabir was looking at Navya from the corner of his eyes and that smile made his heart flutter.

The smiling girl, yes still smiling because she just can't stop it, was looking at the flowers and she finally said what was going on in her head.

"Cabir...umm thanks."

"Tum itni sharma kiyu rahi ho? Flowers hi to hain."

"Whooo...asal mein pehli bar kisi laadke ne hum fhool diya hai." She replied honestly.

Cabir had to look at her to make sure she wasn't joking and when he knew she was serious all he could do was laugh.

"Cabir tum haas kiyu raheho?"

And when he didn't reply but kept on laughing Navya started hitting him on his arm playfully.

"Whaaa...Navya chordo drive kar raha hu." Cabir warned still slightly laughing.

When she didn't stop Cabir tried to capture her hands in one of his still driving with the other and finally got hold of her two wrists.

"Cabir chordooo..." Navya struggled in his hand.

"Kiyun? Taki phirse mujhe maar sako? Mein to hostel jakar hi chordunga."

She was still struggling when Cabir said "Navya chup chap betho na. Lok sochenge mein tumhe school se kidnap karke le ja raha hu."

"School?"

"Hain. School ki bacchi hi to lagti ho." He replied eyeing her two braids and laughing at her reaction.

"Cabir!" She said threatingly.

"Areee dekho tumhara hostel agaya." He parked his jeep opposite of the gate.

"Aab to haath chordo." Navya complained.

"Promise maroge nahi."

She just looked at him not guaranteeing anything.

"Mein duniya ka pehla laadka hu jo flowers dene par mar kha raha hai." He said jokingly but finally let go of her wrists.

Navya didn't hit him as she wanted to because all that violent desire went away as her eyes landed on the bouquet on her lap. Suddenly she became thoughtful.

"Kaya? Kitna serious kiyu ho gaye ho?" Cabir asked concerned.

Navya turned around and looked straight into his eyes by which he was taken aback.

"Pata hain aaj subha mandir mein hum mataji se kaya mange the? Ki who humhe aapna saacha payar dila de." Her words made Cabir's heart skip a beat but she continued. "Aur mandir k bahar hi tum mile aur tumne kaha tha ki tum Harshad ji ko lekar humari madath karoge to... pata nahi kiyu lekin ussi waqth humne tumpar bharosa kar liya. Tum maafi k liye humari help karoge na, lekin saach baath eh hai ki humne tabhi tumhe maaf kar diya, hum zyada der gussa nahi reh sakte. To aab agar tumhe humari help na karna hai to mat karo lekin humari bharosa maath torna." Her eyes were almost pleading but before Cabir got the chance to say anything she got out of the jeep and entered the hostel.

Cabir stared at her retreating back till she was out of sight. He looked heavenwards and asked "Mataji aap mere baath hi kiyu nahi sunte?"
