Part 11-
Manik's POV will be in Italic and Nandini's in normal .
I couldn't believe I heard that... how anyone can go that low?? I always saw him as my brother but Vikram...Manik shook his head in mass disappointment. I reached to him and touched his shoulders in a comforting way...
U know Nandini that one moment and I lost faith from everything. It was already unbearable for me that my one brother is responsible for my another brother's death but this new information was like tight cold slap, I though Vikram and Soha would be guilty if they get to know how Aarav died and how he felt so much pain because of them but here these two shameless people were unaffected in fact trying to figure out their own profit in my brother's death.
I haven't slept whole night that night, sitting in Aarav's room, it became my habit to sit there and talk to my brother's pictures, because no one in the house can understand me, I knew even if I tell my parents about Vikram's intensions nobody would believe me because everyone had full faith on him for them he was a perfect son after Aarav and me just some irresponsible unwanted thing in their life but I wanted to change that, I can't let Vikram destroy us and over take our company which my father and brother built up with so much hard work. I decided I would join business... this decision was very tough for me, because I had never been interested in office work, I wanted to make my carrier in Music, it was one of the hardest decision of my life... giving up on my dreams was not easy but I had to do it...
After so many physiotherapy session and exercises I finally able to walk but with slight limp, my doctor suggested me to walk less and if that's needy use walking stick, if I was an old Manik I would never use stick to walk but right now only thing is important for me to represent myself able.
when I told my father about my decision he laughed as if I was joking, he said playing guitar and running business is two completely different things, its not something you can take lightly... Go Manik concentrating in your ganna bajana... ye tumhare bas ki baat nhi, and we have Vikram, he will handle everything... my blood boiled hearing his name.
I sat front of him on my knees... plz dad I will try my best, I know I have never done anything which can make you proud but plz give me a chance I would never let you down. plz dad.
He was not convinced but thankfully ready to give me a chance... ok then be at the conference room sharp at 7. Only if you managed to get up that early... he walked away giving my bitter taunt. Waking up early?? He has no idea I barely sleep now a days.
When I reached office... many people were giving me surprising looks, when I entered inside the conference room found that same expression on my father's face, I was 10 minutes early. Vikram was as expected not happy with my decision.
All board members seated... and my dad started speaking. ok gentleman, as u all know about my son and CEO of the Malhotra industries Aarav Malhotra's sudden demise. Its painful and a very hard time for us but life must go on, so our business. I had only one name for the new CEO but just yesterday I got another name, I want to discuss if u all agree with me. Vikram and Aarav.
I was sure nobody would take my side as I know nothing about business and as expected they said... Manik is so young and inexperienced for this post but for my surprise someone else said but I think he has potential and with proper training and guidance he can manage this post. The argument was going on and on, some members favoring me and some favoring vikram. I was very much surprised I have no idea I could have get that much supports may be few of them are aware with Vikram's evil intensions or just not happy because of his rude and arrogant behavior , way of working and bossing around. Dad came to the conclusion and announced. Ok gentleman I want u all to write one name on the card front of you, then we will decide.
Me and Vikram got equal votes. I was relieved at least I m still in the competition then last member opened his card, which was my father... I was hoping for my name but it has written Vikram. I was very disappointed. CEO post was clear cut going to Vikram but just then Mr Sangvi entered, he was another board member and also Riya's father. He apologized for being late and wrote on his card... I was already defeated I lowered my head sadly but loud cheer of my name made me snap my head up and I found Mr Sangvi holding his card which has written my name. Decision was tie. My father had no choice but to give us both equal chances. So he gave his one factory's responsibility to Vikram and other to me for 1 year. Whoever gives him more profit in this one year would be new CEO of the whole Malhotra industries.
My father and Vikram left the room with frustration and gradually all members left. Mr Sangvi was still there, I thanked him and he congratulated me with a best of luck. I turned to go just then he said. My daughter was so stupid to leave you. U r a very nice person and I can see your bright future too. After saying this he left.
I was already hurt by my father's lack of faith on me but then he gave me the factory which was far away from my house, I had to move out from my house but nobody cared. My father sent me away while Vikram still lives with him. My father had no trust on me and even said he is sure I would never win. I felt alone. My mother and father both were supporting Vikram not me and even whenever they call they just demotivate me by saying I should come back I cannot win. Every time they make me feel how useless I m. Nobody trusts me.
Some tears fall from his eyes and he wiped them harshly... but I will fight and win for my brother, I will do this for my family, vo chahe mujh pe trust na karein main uss vikram ko meri family ka sab kuchh chhenne nhi dunga. He said determinedly.
I had no idea he faced that much. I always thought my life is tough but it was only before meeting Manik, he suffered a lot. He lost his love, his brother and his parents choosing the one who is responsible for his every agony over their own son.
I cupped his face... I trust you Manik, I know u will win because u are right and u r doing it without any selfish motive unlike that Vikram. U r really a perfect brother and son. You left your dreams for your family, in spite of their lack of trust on you. Today I increased more respect for you Manik. You are really a rare guy.
You think so Nandini? He asked.
I nodded and kissed his forehead. He hugged me and whispered... thanks Nandini. Thanks for being with me, thanks for not giving up on me, thanks for trusting me.
He broke the hug but kept his eyes glued on me. What are u looking at Manik?
He smiled and shook his head. I poked his arm... come on answer me. He shook his head and smiled more.
I folded my arms across my chest and pouted.
Owe u know u look cute when u do this.. he replied still smiling.
Nice try but I'm not talking to u until you answer me. I turned my head to the opposite side.
I was just thinking u call me rare but actually u r the rarest. So special, so different, so kind and so sweet.
I blushed by his remark, my face turning a shade of bright red. He poked my cheeks... U blush so easily and I love it.
OMG did he just say he love me? Ok ok he said he loves my blush but come on blush is my action so indirectly he said he loves me. Stupid Nandini stop searching unnecessary meanings. I mentally scolded myself and started staring at beautiful chocolaty brown eyes front of me with a stupid grin.
