Manik can kill if need his guilt of not saving Nandini will outweigh the darkness he will load on his soul after killing. He is noble enough to take to that darkness. While for Nandini she cannot do it, because for her the burden of killing someone will outweigh everything. She would cry herself to death for him but might not kill.

Doesn't mean one loves the other more but it is about what sort of darkness they will choose to be in.

I don't know why we make it a morality issue. Harry Potter killed, Molly Wealsey killed. Mariam Killed- they were all noble fictional souls.
