Doc,

I loved your description on "Stages of Love".

Manik and Nandini surely are going backwards. But they need to do this.

They need a solid foundation of friendship, comfort and companionship...

I don't to express well like you guys..

But, Love is not just butterflies in your stomach, rush of excitement, passion. It is also when on a fine evening, you sit with your lover, having a cup of coffee and there is absolutely no need to fill the silence with your chatter. And once in a while you just reach out and touch his/her hand.

Manik and Nandini, surely have a long way to go...but this journey would be really beautiful.

MD modesty is not allowed on AT,we are all shamelessly brilliant ok!

Agree personally speaking love is thrown around too easily. Even with MaNan if they do some OTT drama about unconditional love, I might cringe. I enjoy their sarcasm,exasperation,concern in eyes, communicatio. I'm a sucker for " easy does it" and " smooth as a bold red wine". But saying that an embrace in pouring rain,and a stolen kiss I'm totally up for.

I like how they are struggling, to communicate, to find equal footing, to be on the same page trying to build. Relationship is a constant work in progress, it never ends even after 50 years.

I like how they are not "soul mates" in a typical, filmy sense. I wouldn't mind a scene just like what you described though.

Manik threw around "love" word with Alya a lot. But it is true that he loved her, she was his best friend and he would not have hesitancy in acknowledging that love. Only when Nandini came to his life, he started feeling something different which he could not name and has never felt them before.

That is when he realized his actual relationship with Alya too. They were always friends and that is what was always there. They held on to their GF-BF status, because it was easy, it was comfort zone.

Yes. FAB5 need to know about M and N and also about Dhruv and Alya. Real test there...

I really liked H's character, before he turned completely black. Manik, Dhruv and him were solid friends and they fell apart. Harshad seemed to have grudge against Manik, because of that.

Was it because Manik took both Alya and Dhruv away from him?

The Band of brothers story is interesting from the dynamics of friendship. Have you watched Mystic river? This plot reminded me of tat story. I think the story can be explosive if dealt with a degree of macabre.
